In my lore they got fed up with the British and became great allies with me. And now they sailed north and did a D-DAY type attack. The Irish hated the British and everything they stood for so when war came they attacked immediately

So in my lore Ireland has about 40 mil population and around 3 mil of them are military{including support} they have have around 30,000 armored ground vehicles [including tanks], 100 thousand or so artillery

About 1000 various aircraft [no refuel planes since they don't really do offensive]

This kind of conscription kinda cripples the economy and causes undue military spending, Ireland would collapse within a decade of these type of military equipment and force sizes, even with the buffed up Ireland you have.

Yes. If people are out of work for that long for mandatory military service, the economy suffers even with large amounts of investment.

If Ireland represents the UK as the classical enemy, I would cut the force size in half (this limits economic damage), axe all of the major surface combatants (the carriers, cruisers, and destroyers) as they are not needed for ireland's strategic needs, and maybe have about 20-25 frigates (Euro frigates pack a freakin punch!), and keep the 70 other vessels. That way they can actually man and maintain these ships reliably and not look like unnecessary wank. (a nation of 20 million could not afford such things, so we're gonna have to go with the assumption of aggressive discounts).
