"So, they want to challenge us? I was hoping for that!" sounded a rasp, thundering voice across a room in an underground bunker.

Attention of everyone sitting there was then focused on the Ataman himself - Yevhenii Yagerenko. A middle height man, with long wavy dark hair tied in ponytail. Hatred shone out of his eyes as sun in June.

"For centruies, the Moskals have been a stain upon humanity" the Ataman continued "There is not a single nation in this part of the world that likes them. They have invaded, raped, looted, destroyed and killed ever since their crooked nation was born. Millions of Ukrainians, Lakhs, Belarussians, Tatars, Lithuanians, Georgians or Asians lost their lands to them, to be subjugated as second rate citizens in service of Moscow. Regardless of who sat in Kremlin - Russia did not change. And now, when we, the people of Ukraine want to take our historic revenge - they stand in our path?"

Yagerenko slammed his hands into the table with fury.

"WE WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THEM AS LOVERS OF MOSKALS - AND TREAT THEM THE SAME!"

"SLAVA UKRAINII! GIEROYOM SLAVA!" came shouts from other members of the cabinet. They sat in the situations room below the Marinskii Palace, in front of a long wooden table. Around them shone a network of screens displaying various information, with largest being located behind Yagerenko, displaying the locations of Ukrainian forces.

"Soroka!" the Attaman addressed the chief of general Staff "What steps were taken to repeal an eventual invasion?"

"We are moving in additional units to the Southern Command." the blonde haired, blue eyed man in military uniform replied "Thanks to our Langenian friends, we were also able to replenish the munitions following the last battle. The coast has been mined, and our forces in the South are being moved in positions to repeal potential enemy attack. Readiness on Russian border has also been increased. As per your orders, reservists have been mobilised."

The Ataman merely nodded "I want to take it a step further. I want to hit them first."

"Your excellency, I don't..." replied Soroka, but Yagerenko cut him.

"I am the Ataman here, hence I know what is the best." he spoke in an arrogant voice "We will show them that we are not to be messed with. I want you to mobilise our cyberwarfare units and hiit the major internet providers in France."

Soroka thought carefully. In moments such as this, it was always better to obey the Ataman. He often saw the wrath of this man - which usually ended in brutal executions.

"As you wish, my Ataman." he said with resignation "I will formulate the plan and inform you of it later."

"The meeting is dismissed." Yagerenko said, and every man in the room stood up and left.

Every man except one.

Armin Vasylyuk - the foreign relations minister. A tall, blond man with elegantly combed hair, and childhood friend of Yevhenii. With concern in his eyes, he approached his friend.

"Yevhen" he said calmly "Why do it? Why provoke the whole world? This goes beyond the revenge you promised on Moskals for killing your mother.."

Yagerenko smiled.

"Why? For power of course. "

"What?"

"Do you think that revenge is my sole goal?" Yagerenko laughed "I have almost accomplished it. Now, I must consolidate my rule in Ukraine. A victorious war against all odds will make me a hero and rally the people around me. It will make them forget the inflation, the poverty and other problems - all that will matter will be their survival. And once I win, they will put my name next to Bandera himself, my power being unchallenged! "

Shock painted itself on Armin's face. At this point, he had no idea who he was talking to any more. The angry, but idealistic kid that accompanied his childhood was gone - what remained was a monster willing to use the cause of Ukrainian people for his own personal desires.

But he had to obey. And as he though, Yagerenko continued laughing.

"But first, I have to win. Come, then. No matter how many - I will keep moving forward until all of you are destroyed! "

The cyberspace was a new domain of war - but extremely crucial. Many economies relied on it. Hence, the opening salvo of the upcoming war over slavery was fired in... the internet.

Ever since it's victory, Ukraine has been relentlessly building it's cyber capabilities. The Ukrainian hacker have been infecting devices all over the world. In addition, the law provided for the state using computers of it's citizens should such a need arose. Now, that the order was given, this terrifying network - codenamed "The Paths" was activated.

On order of Ukrainian general staff, Ukrainian hackers mobilised a botnet composed of over 800 000 various devices - not just computers, but also cameras, phones and TVs connected to the internet. The immense processing power of this monstrosity was then directed at French internet providers, who would come under what is referred to as "DDoS attack". Millions of connections per second would slam into the major internet providers, hoping that at least for a day, internet would be down in the entire France.

Admiral Aguilar Lorenzo, commander of the Langenian military forces in the Mediterranean region, sighed as he read over the orders, and turned to his staff gathered around him. "Well boys, it looks they're at it again. We're at war with a bunch of imperialists." The men clustered around nodded and whispered in low tones, taking in the news. They shrugged, used to it events like that. Lorenzo turned back to look at the orders, deep in thought as he made plans to strike the incoming AFAASA fleet. Then he abruptly turned back to his officers, representatives of each of the branches of the Langenian Armed Forces.
"Men, our host nations have given the Langenian military permission to conduct combat operations from Spanish and Portuguese soil against AFAASA forces. With this in mind, I have a plan.
"We have an incoming fleet of AFAASA forces en route to invade Ukraine. These forces are from the nation of Aursi, in the north. They are currently entering the Mediterranean Sea, but have no idea that the Langenian eagle is preparing to attack. The fleet from Aursi will come under attack from our anti-ship missile batteries. Next, they will face an ambush by the Langenian Atlantic Fleet carrier group here in the Mediterranean. Aircraft from this carrier group will conduct continuous strikes against the Aursian fleet. Finally, they will be harried by our submarines, and if anything from that fleet escapes we can have the Ukrainians finish them off. Is that clear, men? If yes, then move out. Glory to Langenia, and death to its enemies!" The assembled officers nodded, and then left the room to execute the Admiral's orders.

Lorenzo stared at his officers. He and these men were cursed to do the business of war, pawns of their political leaders in the wider game of geopolitics. The admiral mentally shrugged. Orders were orders, and he was following them.

As the Aursian fleet entered the Strait of Gibraltar, they would suddenly find that their communications were being jammed from a mysterious source on the nearby landmass of Iberia. This source was Langenian electronic warfare aircraft operating in the area nearby. Next, radars would light up like Christmas trees as a series of objects could be seen coming in from the country of Spain. On land in Iberia, 10 coastal missile batteries of Langenian-made MA-10 Cazador sea-skimming anti-ship missiles and 6 batteries of MA-30 Catequil anti-ship cruise missiles would unleash their weapons in a series of launches, with the target being the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers escorting the enemy fleet. In the air, a Langenian Air Force squadron of 12 C-20 strike fighters, each bearing two Cazador missiles, would also target the Aursian destroyers.

Meanwhile in the sea, the carrier battle group centered around the aircraft carrier Caesar would begin scrambling C-21 Aguila fighters to conduct offensive counter-air missions on the enemy fleet, while the surface combatants and submarine attached to the group remained on standby, waiting for the next phase of the Langenian assault.

The Aursian fleet would find over 40 anti-ship missiles coming in their direction from an unknown enemy in the area, determined to prevent them from passing and ready to do anything necessary to stop the enemy fleet from making it to Ukraine.

As the Lockheed U-2 were ahead of the fleet. They could see the Anti-Ship Missiles coming in the way of the Aursian Fleet. They would alert the Fleet. The navy would put their Anti-Missile Missiles on launch. They could see the AshM in their Radar. Some of the Anti ship missiles could be destroyed. But 10 of them would hit the ABCD. Which quickly weakened the Aursian Fleet. The General would alert Aursi with the losses.

After receiving the message of the tragedy that befell the Aursian fleet, the proposal of a formal meeting was approved by the AFAASA high command, this meeting is set to be held behind closed doors, the meeting will be held by members of AFAASA high command and representatives from six nations of the AFAASA Assembly, said meeting is to be carried out in The dome, a bunker just a few kilometers away from the sleepy town of Le Paix on Île de Mons, Northeast Coast Region. The meeting room in question had been built to be completely off any electrical grid, in order to cope with possible cyberattacks from other nations across the sea, especially after the recent cyberattack on France.

Whilst this meeting is being held, the Arpasian military along with the armies of several other AFAASA member states has entered the status of Defensive Alertness, it is also in this time, that the AFAASA department of outreach has contacted several other organizations to keep a close eye on Langenia and Ukraine and to take action if either of the two carries out any military action that the AFAASA finds provocative. The general of the Arpasian Armed Forces and Minister of War have made a public message encouraging able-bodied citizens of Arpasia to enlist in the military, due to them expecting that the war in Ukraine would take a longer amount of time than expected.

Back in the meeting room however, the heated discussion had reached a climax, when the host of the meeting, the Arpasian President, accepted the proposal of a non-naval invasion plan to deal with the Ukrainians.

Utquiagvik, being an AFAASA member, is preparing their military invade an attack on Yagerist Ukraine is needed. Meanwhile, airports in Utquiagvik have been closed, and civilians are being told to prepare for war.

[Laka Strolistandiler]

The Lakan fleet, defeated but not broken were essentially sieged out at the “island fortress” of Malta- an island renown in Lakan history for the dedication demonstrated by it’s defenders- long time allies of the Lakan royal family,- the Shields of the Roads, a chivalrous order who have defended the island for more than a millennia. Several Lakan naval installations, critical for the operation of the fleet and power projection in the Mediterranean were there- and amongst these installations was a large naval base, reminiscent of the British Scapa Flow. During the many years it has served the Empire, the island has seen many damaged Lakan ships seek refuge and repairs there- and today was no different picture. Damaged ships, barely escaping from the wrath of the Ukrainians were scattered around the bay, moored off- some still bore marks from the escape they did, however the most damaged ones were located over at the dry dockyards, and the pictures one would see in these ships would resemble anything but a normal dockyard- dozens, in cases of some ships, hundreds of burnt bodies were being retrieved from the vessels, for such was a price to pay for the survival of the ships. No effort was made to identify almost all dead, with their bodies being swiftly transported away from the coast, to a crematorium, from where their ashes were dispersed over the sea. “Industrialized warfare at it’s finest”…

Weirdly enough, not only did the commanding officer responsible for the defeat receive a demote and dishonorable discharge, he was personally ordered by Central Command to commit a honorable death, which he swiftly did. Such high ranks bare high responsibilities- and those unable to do as ordered shall be punished appropriately.

The Mediterranean Squadron was essentially merged with the surviving combat warships into a temporary fleet, with the Mistral acting as it’s makeshift flagship. The Squadron is composed of 1 sea control ship (classified as an escort carrier), her escorts of a single AEGIS cruiser, 2 BPK’s, 5 multirole destroyers (a little bit bigger Atago-class with more crew), single destroyer leader (Russian Leader-class) as well as a number of smaller anti-submarine ships, landing craft, supply and maintenance ships, etc. Most certainly not a force to be reckoned with, however they could more or less be effectively used to defend the island, or become a part of a far larger force…

There are is also a major submarine base at the island- built in late 50’s, it’s one of the largest Lakan submarine bases in existence, housing a fleet of submarines of different types and classes. It’s attack fleet consists of diesel-powered submarines (5 Gotland-class, 1 Project 677-class acting as a “leader” sub), 4 nuclear attack submarines (1 modernized Alpha-class, which fixed the majority of the original’s flaws- I can explain how, 3 Seawolf-Soryu hybrids as well as 5 “boomers”- 3 Virginia-class and 2 Typhoon-class submarines. Not attached to the submarine fleet but present nonetheless is several axillary subs- a supply submarine (eh consider it being a Kursk without missiles being much more quiet and having much more powerful active and passive sensors, as well as a radar picket submarine (a Los Angeles class with slightly worse performance). For now, they lie in wait, eagerly awaiting an opportunity to avenge their fallen comrades. Oh, and will such an order come soon…

Attention, the nation of The Catholic Republic of Langenia.

We have read through the vile and spiteful speech of hatred directed at us, and we must say that we are very much disappointed at Langenia's viewpoint on the newly formed Alliance along with it's stance with the vile pro-slaver state of Ukraine. We believe that the government of Langenia and Ukraine are blind to the immeasurable amount of misery that the millions of slaves in slaver nations have to endure every single day, with diseases, and torture running rampant across slave labor camps leading to the deaths of many slaves in those nations, not to mention the abhorrent supremacist nature shown by the Ukrainians in their statement of hatred, in which they regard the "Moskals" as a lower race, and that the Ukrainians are the more superior race.

The statement that Anti-Slaver alliances like the AFAASA are nothing more than a "front of imperialism" is truly false, for this accusation is unsubstantiated, given the fact that the alliance's virtues are to release slaves and grant them the same rights another human being would have. Two other another baseless accusations are also deemed as false, with one detailing that the alliance is secretly vying for "world domination", this one seems too far-fetched to be true, the same goes for the other one, that the members of the alliance are only "small nations". These claims which are mentioned in the statement by Langenia have little to nothing in terms of hard evidence or anything that might back up these claims, therefore, high command will release a statement directed at the International Community that the claims made by Langenia and Ukraine that their claims against the alliance are entirely false.

Regarding the statement "interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and force their values, like so called "anti-slavery" on them, even though such moves do not take into account the feelings of the peoples of the countries being affected by AFAASA's brutal interventions." The AFAASA and other associated organizations have deemed the values of these slaver nations as wrong and abhorrent in every aspects, for the very practice of slavery is deemed as cruel, unhumanitarian and a show of hate against races and ethnicities, and that nations who show support for this hateful practice will be regarded as showing support for widespread hatred against fellow human beings.

This has led us to ask the question: Does Langenia fully support and are ready to defend a bastion of hatred and intolerance?

In response to this, Langenia will be in the list of the AFAASA's primary enemies.

For the time being, Zarnicova Nova will not be considered as a traitor to the alliance, but if it does something the alliance finds provocative, then extreme measures will be taken if necessary.

Several days after the meeting has concluded and the tragic event that the Aursian naval detachment has experienced, the Arpasian government has been notified that Laka Strolistandiler and Utquiagvik has entered the war, but so far hasn't deployed their military forces. The government then sends out an encrypted cablegram message specifically targeted at Utquiagvik, suggesting that a naval invasion is not recommended, due to the large amount of Langenian vessels already en route to the Ukrainian coastline, and urges them to use non-naval invasion tactics instead of the former.

Following the failed head-on attack, Lakans have decided that the only correct way to proceed would be waging a war of attrition with the Ukrainians, primarily targeting their energetic and transportation infrastructure and installations, mainly in hopes of reducing the effectiveness and amount of support from their allies as well as eventually preparing the situation for the coming land invasion. Moreover than that, in the long run they believe that attacking such backline targets will have the Ukrainians spread out their air defense and missile defense systems, potentially opening up many more possible targets for allied attacks.

Days before the attack, they will launch a disinformation campaign, spreading rumors that the primary target will be the Ukrainian electric grid. Moreover than that, they are going to purposely “leak” some of the documents regarding the “planned” operation to third-source and open intelligence agencies, preferably in a way which would imitate said leak being caused by a weakness in their cybernetic defense systems, opened up by the successful cyberattack on the French. That would give a reasonable explanation to the events unfolding. Said “leaked” documents will not reveal that much information other than Laka attempting (and failing) to negotiate a new missile launcher placement in Russia, as well as placing some passive and active reconnaissance units over there. Lakan ELINT/SIGINT will regularly fly from Malta northbound for some time before disabling it’s transponders, etc. All to make Ukrainians think that the spreader rumor about the attack on electric grid is a disinformation campaign, and the actual targets being their naval assets over in the Black Sea region. Such an action would be expectable from Lakans- as a usual element of their preparation for an eventual second attempted landing.

A secret agreement will be attempted to be negotiated with Turkey (I mean it’s not like they want to have a nuclear-powered dictatorship a sea across, I believe they will agree to do a small favor for us), to allow several Lakan SSBN’s/SSGN’s to pass through into the Black Sea while surfaced, imitating preparations for the coming attack. However, upon entering the sea and diving again, the submarines will not proceed to their launch sites but rather “sit out” near the Turkish coastline. They will neither the less send out pre-recorded communications to their command via satellite uplink, indicating of the submarines arriving in launch positions and awaiting launch orders. Some of these messages, or rather reports mentioning them may also be leaked, or rather put in a position where hostile intelligence may have an opportunity to gather said data. The purpose of it all is to deceive the hostile into this plan of attack: initially, some conventional missiles, mainly MIRV’s carrying conventional warheads and decoys will be launched from the Malta, however the main bulk of the attack will be carried by SSBN’s/SSGN’s, whose primary targets will be aforementioned coastal facilities, such as naval bases and other installations that can hardly be mobile and whose positions Laka knows already (it would be extremely suspicious for them to “target”. something which they have completely no way of knowing a direct location of). Theoretically, given Ukrainians using mainly S-400’s for missile defense, a system working with a radar having difficulty tracking multiple targets and maintaining lock at the same time, this plan may look like a real one.

However, there are a couple of things that will not be correct. For starters, the actual attack will be carried out only by land-based missile launchers in Malta (Pershing and DF-21B had a child and this thing has a 1900 range). Said IRBM’s targets will primarily include targets in the western part of Ukraine- mainly railroad facilities, such as railway bridges, large train depots, but most importantly, it will target their major railway intersections. It is unlikely that said targets will be able to effectively defend themselves (especially considering that an extensive disinformation campaign will try to make them believe that they ARE being targeted at the Black Sea rather than at the west). Expecting a counterattack immediately after launch, several hours before the attack most of the warships will leave the portal facilities at Malta and those unable to do so due to being in repairs will have their fire prevention systems at very least operational. This will be done several times before the actual attack, so that if the hostile “gets wind” of ships running away from the island they wouldn’t immediately put their defenses at readiness. Even so, everything possible will be done to minimize the possibility of hostile receiving information about the attack early on- such as it (and shops leaving strictly under the cover of night, when there will be a curfew at Malta for all the civilians (there’s way, WAY less of them there than there is IRL). All allied air and missile defense stations present at Malta will be put on top-notch readiness, these include a couple of THAAD batteries, an AEGIS Ashore missile defense systems, several SAM sites- two S-400 batteries and 1 S-300 battery, as well as all other AEW/EW assets already present in the area.

All scrambled aviation able to perform CAP is going to do right that, Naval vessels featuring AEGIS will begin active preparations for a hostile counter-strike. Oh and the Hunter-killer submarines will be already awaiting near the southern end of Bosporus as well as all-around the Mediterranean, awaiting for the hostile warships to arrive (mostly in between Sardinia and Africa and Corsica


The moment launch order goes through, all planes will be immediately ordered to scramble, with the priority being given out to the most expensive assets (other than more AEW). Planes considered unable to take-off before the hostile counterattack arrives will be pre-emptively either placed in shelters or moved away from the airbases to more secure locations, scattered around the island, where they should be more safe. Tactical air defense units will be ordered to move out from their standard positions, everything which can move and is able to do so without creating a traffic jam should do as ordered (changing positions following a first strike is actually a normal thing there- drills and excercises including this “fun” activity happen from time to time). Other than that, some defenses will be taken to prepare the island for the coming (they believe it to be coming) attack by the slaver-aligned navies which I will mention if said need arrived because I’m tired.

After the order. Aursian Navy would return without being noticed. The Soldiers of the war have been given medals of valour. SIC: After some careful deliberation made by the Arpasian Government, Ministry of War, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Armed Forces upper leadership, a plan to send troops en masse to Ukraine through air has been formally approved behind closed doors, the operation, deemed Operation Red Dnieper is set to take place in the next few months, and the discussions of this operation had taken place at the same off-grid bunker, The Dome. Several weeks after the approval of the plan, which had several changes to it over the last few weeks, the Arpasian government sends the plans to AFAASA high command, who in turn, approves the invasion plan, and along with the documents pertaining to the plan, the Arpasian government also includes a note for high command to send copies of the invasion plans to all other AFAASA member states, and specifically, their governments. Information pertaining to Operation Red Dnieper hasn't been fully disclosed to the public, however, only several instances of the operation have been mentioned in Arpasian news outlets, while no other information besides the operation's name is mentioned, and while this happens, the Arpasian military begins preparing for the approaching deadline where the operation will begin.

The EC-37C Commando Solo IV was a PSYOPS and electronic warfare aircraft built on the airframe of a Gulfstream G550. Its job was, essentially, to hijack radio, television, and other communication signals in order to broadcast its own message. In essence, a flying propaganda machine, though the Air Force was careful not to use that term.

Acknowledging the pilot's direction, the electronic systems operators in the plane's rear began firing up their equipment. Soon the aircraft had taken over all of the Ukrainian broadcasting systems in its range, and the crew began transmitting the prerecorded message they had been given [OOC note: the << and >> quotation marks indicate a language other than English is being used (in this case, Ukrainian)]:

As the transmission continued, the pilot kept his eyes peeled for any sign of approaching Ukrainian aircraft or SAMs. The pair of F-15s flying escort half a mile behind his aircraft, spaced a mile apart, would most likely spot any such threats well before he did, but an extra pair of eyes never hurt, and nobody really knew how the Ukrainians would react to this mission. That was one of the reasons this location had been chosen for the first of these broadcasts: while broadcasting from here would reach a smaller portion of the Ukrainian population than would a location further north, down here they were closer to friendly airspace if they needed to make a quick escape.

The large and rather ungainly Aursian air formation trying to enter the Black Sea failed to evade the attention of the German air forces stationed in Romania, thanks to German early warning radars and their sheer numbers. It helped that some rather large aircraft were in the formation. As such, a good part of the Luftwaffe's strength in Romania went out to do the polite thing and greet the new arrivals. The Germans also took note of a three-aircraft formation loitering 20 or so miles off Snake Island. Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base picked up the transmission from the lead aircraft, which was apparently propaganda aimed at the Ukrainians. Given they were not exactly a threat, they were to be more or less ignored.

Judging from the radar signatures, the Aursian formation was a large strike force. As such, a large force consisting of 36 Me 431 Uhu interceptors and 36 Fw 627 Störtebecker multirole fighters, was vectored in the general direction of the Aursian bombers. The Uhus were equipped with 6x LLR.37 very long-range air-to-air missiles carried under the fuselage, along with 4x Meteor medium-range missiles carried underwing and 2x IRIS-T short-range missiles carried on wingtip rails for self-defense. Their Störtebecker escorts were equipped with 12x Meteor medium-range missiles carried under the fuselage and underwing along with 2x IRIS-T short-range missiles, also carried on wingtip rails for self-defense. A A350 M³A Neuling AWACS was to provide support for the operation, feeding the fighters information about the direction and composition of the Aursian force.

The aircraft would sortie from their bases flying low initially, just in case of surprises, then gain altitude as they approached their targets, to gain an energy advantage and again, stay on top of surprises. They were to form up into a linear array of pairs of fighters; each pair would be in a wedge formation. Each pair flew 1.6 km apart, the wingman at a 30° angle behind the leader. Each pair would be 6 km from each other, and each row would consist of 18 pairs. The pairs in the second row were to station themselves in front of the gaps in the first row, making the formation roughly 135 km wide and 11 km deep.

At a range of 250 km or so, all aircraft were to select their targets and open fire; each aircraft was to receive a LLR.37 each, then return to base after all targets dipped from the screen. The enemy formation was flying low in an attempt to evade interception; while requiring radars to look down it did mean missiles would accumulate more energy as they headed for their targets. In the off chance the entire enemy force was not destroyed by then, any Uhus with missiles left were to immediately fire again. The formation was to continue interception; at 100 km or so, all aircraft were to let loose a barrage of at least 2 Meteor missiles per target.

Its was a miserably cold and windy night that befell regions near the Thule Sea, and the residents of Pontchartrain have hunkered down in their houses for the night, this was a common occurrence for the people living on the Arpasian coastline, where hot days quickly turn into cold nights, and this night was no different, except for what has been going on in the harbor. Earlier that day, a fleet of naval ships were assembled, mainly consisting of Aircraft and Helicopter carriers, as well as an old Altropian War-era battleship that would be the flagship of the fleet, the first of the ships, the AN Philippeaux, a Philippeaux-class aircraft carrier and AN Auguste Lanérage, an Arpandy-class battleship, built in 1943 and refurbished to have a reinforced hull, six Tomahawk Missile launching ports as well as several CIWS turrets scattered across the ship, were seen heading towards the harbor from their respective naval bases. Shortly after these two ships were near the docks, the helicopter carrier AN Upper Sasconyl, which had been scrambled to return back to Arpasia from North Kospean, along with another Aircraft Carrier, the AN Arpandy, followed close behind by a mixture of four Guided Missile destroyers and three Guided Missle Cruisers, the AN Séverin Léger leading the mixed fleet, were seen approaching the harbor, and these ships would dock for several months for the upcoming Operation Red Dnieper.
