When the liberators enter the city the Gothic forces have embarked and left. Inside they find a shell of the former city, some crimes committed on purpose, many more simply a tragic result of it being the center of a war. The death toll numbers in the thousands as thousands more are left injured and homeless. Meanwhile the Gothic forces, alongside the fleet are departed further south. To join the rebels and regroup.

To be clear my fleets were damaged not destroyed and you certainly took heavy damage yourself before the involuntary cease fire took effect.

While it’s true your fleet managed to limp out, the act of escaping prevented the Gothian Fleet from taking heavy losses, if they had stayed they would have been sunk, what with them being trapped between a fleet and the shore guns.
