4th Annual GCN Conference

The Global Confederation of Nations, or GCN, is one of the world’s first giga-alliances and one of the only true successors to the great World Assembly. The GCN has united and preserved alliance after alliance, and it has led to this moment. Now, the GCN has convened for the 4th Annual Conference, to discuss recent important events. Marajarbian diplomat Carl Williams arrives in the conference room, and takes his assigned seat. He introduces himself to the current representatives present at the conference, and awaits the arrival of the other representatives.

Carl Williams: “I believe we can start the actual conference. Let’s discuss the GCN-KTO Cold War. The only big recent thing to discuss here is the recent collapse of the United Liberation Organization, or ULIBOR. ULIBOR could have become a major world power one day if only it had good leadership and a constitution to stabilize the alliance in the long term, but it failed. It’s up to the Global Confederation of Nations to now decide its fate. Anyone wish to comment on this?”

ULIBOR could have become a major world power one day if only it had good leadership and a constitution to stabilize the alliance in the long term, but it failed. It’s up to the Global Confederation of Nations to now decide its fate. Anyone wish to comment on this?”

''I'd say that we should try to further co-operate with ULIBOR in the form of human rights assurances and protections and getting them to mediate conflicts between GCN members and the KTO. Of course, we should also be willing to give our own war criminals in order for this to happen, to preserve their neutrality and ensure that co-operation doesn't backfire.''

Wether it’s KTO supporting cutting off ties between ULIBOR and GCN or one side believing that the other wants to take ULIBOR, there’s no real way for ULIBOR to remain neutral, and it’s effectively a collapsed organization because of that very reason. It’s better to salvage what can be salvageable and use it wisely. The wise approach would be a merger, because that would strengthen GCN’s courts and give the upcoming GENA more power and influence. Such a move might also make KTO obsolete in a manner of speaking, seeing as how GENA would be strong enough to take over KTO if it tried.”

Carl Williams: “And those new, more stable alliances that somehow manage to make it through the late 2nd half of Civil War Season and become involved in the third half would also play a role in defining the international geopolitical situation a little more to define what the next ruling world power will be. In the last Civil War Season’s case, it was IDSF, ICDN, and CUSP that defined it, UDAF/UCA and PRS/WTA which allowed for the foundations of the GCN to be laid, and GA and UF to build up from those very foundations and create GCN. It’s a repeating cycle of these modern times, with the GCN and KTO being the defining factors, and GCN being one of the few powers stuck between both endless chaos and conflict or peace and prosperity.”
