Sealand mostly fights in civil wars and global conflicts that often don't concern them directly but affect their allies. Given Sealand doesn't have the capability to fight said wars alone, it has always played a support role in such conflicts, doing so with relative success. As for defensive conflicts, Sealand is mostly capable of holding an invasion on its home territory, as shown during it's invasion by the Galapagos. Since then, the nation has revitalized an old system of bunkers and fortifications in case of a future attack on Sealand.

The bulk of the military's strength comes from the army, which often receives the most support and funding, with the navy somewhat capable of fighting despite a lack of focus and the air force being heavily neglected both in funding and in combat, with Sealand heavily reliant on foreign air support in wars, though anti-air does play a large role in Sealand's military.

The first hunter-gatherers arrived in Sealand c.40 000 years ago, and started to farm roughly 10 000 years ago. City states were formed and eventually, by c. 3000 BCE, a Sealandian civilization began in the Imner river basin. It lasted for roughly 2000 years until it collapsed due to a drought and barbarian invasions. By 500 BCE, it was unified as an empire, and gradually expanded until a barbarian invasion, economic, political and social turmoil caused it's collapse in the 3rd century. It was then unified again as a centralized monarchy in the 7th century and gradually transitioned into a feudal society at around 1100. Sealand then became a centralized monarchy that carefully balanced the needs of various religious groups with minor colonial outposts in the Americas and India that were lost in the 18th century as the economy and military deteriorated. After a tumultuous period in the mid 19th century, Sealand started to modernize and industrialize, and began to prosper again. That ended with Sealand's defeat at the hands of the Entente, which led to a period of turmoil and rapid decline in the 1920s, which ended in a military coup and an Allied occupation during WW2. After this, Sealand recovered and flourished as a democracy, which lasted until the 1970s recession. Sealand has since alternated between periods of turmoil and prosperity, which continues to this day, although with some debate on whether Sealand is currently in the prosperity or the turmoil phase.

The last few years for Sealand has been characterized by the rapid rise of the Galapagos that culminated in a cold war and the election of strongly anti-Galapagos and member of the Conservative Party Calvin Thompsett in Sealand. For several years now, various members of the KTO, most notably the Galapagos and to a lesser extent ZN, have launched several attacks on Sealandian allies, such as two Galapagosian attempts at a crusade against IHS, the Galapgosian invasion of Sealand and ZN's economic and political attack on SO that resulted in an Olpenese invasion. All of them sparked wars that Sealand was directly and significantly involved in, with the most significant for Sealand being the 2nd attempted crusade against IHS and the Galapagosian invasion of Sealand. The former became known as the March Crisis, which nearly resulted in nuclear war and caused the near collapse of social order and the complete collapse of the Sealandian government, which resulted in a general election to restore political order. This election was however delayed by a Galapagosian invasion in response to their anti-SM and Centrist propaganda campaign failing after a successful Sealandian-SM summit. The invasion was successfully halted and was even pushed back in the south, and ironically unified Sealand against the Galapagos, while before the invasion the divisions over the March Crisis were still dominant in the election. The Galapagos failed to accomplish many of their goals, and both sides eventually agreed on a balanced treaty. After this war, the following election resulted in the election of a hardline anti-Galapagos candidate, Calvin Thompsett. Sealand has also made a trade deal with aliens in the Amazon (don't question it) and established a lunar colony with mixed results.

Sealand nearly collapsed during the March Crisis: people were divided on continued participation in what seemed like an inevitable nuclear war, causing riots, mass panic and lootings, and the SSP-Centrist coalition fell apart as the SSP began to oppose the war, with the breakaway Democratic Socialist party breaking away from the SSP as an isolationist party. As the war came to an end, a general election was called to ease the chaos in Parliament, with the main competition being between the Centrist Party and the SSP, as well as the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party, while the Democratic Socialists rapidly became irrelevant in Sealandian politics. With the Centrist Party's popularity plummeting as a result of the war, they joined forces with the Conservative Party against the Liberal Party and SSP, who were both for international cooperation in an attempt not to get into another near-apocalyptic conflict, though the two had different economic policies. Meanwhile, the Centrist party was for the status quo, and the Conservatives were hardliners.

As the election race got closer and anti-SM and Centrist propaganda by the Galapagos was successfully tackled, the Galapagos decided to invade, a decision that united Sealand against the Galapagos, which allowed the Conservative party a majority electoral victory in the aftermath, as a firm stance was seen as the only option. Since then, the Conservative Party has sent a candidate to the GCN Senate Elections, has successfully repaired any damage done during the invasion of Sealand, supported democracies in the Visigrad and Roman civil wars, bolstered the national defense budget and begun lunar colonization efforts. Although Sealand is for the most part stable, it does politically stand at a crossroads, as whether Sealand is spending too much on the military is debated, Sealand has ended up with the smallest lunar colony, which also has an uncertain future, and anti-Galapagos sentiment is beginning to make its mark on the Galapagosian population in Sealand, forcing the government to try to protect them and prevent things from getting out of hand, which they may do if they are not careful.

Sealandian is the dominant culture, with some American influence due to globalisation and some untouched indigenous tribes in the north contributing to Sealandian culture. Sealandian is also the official language in the nation, with English being spoken as a second language. Although society as a whole is secular, Sealandian Loudness and to a lesser extent Christianity still play a major role in Sealandian society.

Sealandians are keen to protect their country and their democracy, which was used by the Conservatives to great effect in their recent election campaign following the invasion. The internet and to a lesser degree television play a dominant role in modern Sealandian culture, and this is unlikely to change over the coming years.

The Navy (Kaigun) is considered to be the primary force of the Japanese People's Liberation Forces. And as such, the Gunji Hyogi-kai prioritizes its resources on to the navy, creating domestic designs making it on par with the rest of the naval powers, on some aspects, much advance than the rest of their adversaries. It relies on the use of aircraft carriers and destroyers due to their range, and their ability to carry strong payload. The navy is considered to be the pride of the Liberation Forces, and one of the "first respondents" when the state of armed conflict arrives.

The army (Kangun / gun 官軍 or in short 軍) gained influence from the Soviets. And as such, their military culture is often a mix of ruso-japanese style. Their armaments is often a copy of soviet rifles, or a continued rifle lineage of the Arisakas. Evolving their rifles from bolt actions, to the dawn of assault rifles. Over the recent years, the army tries to create its own domestic rifles, slowly replacing foreign influences on the army. The Army is a professional force, with confined military strategies, and a dedicated command structure to ensure that the front line information are collated and collected for the rest of the forces. They were trained to defend in the jungles and mountains. Accompanying with them is a particular set of skills, skills they've acquired from years of island hopping and naval combat. They are also experienced on COIN operations due to their fighting on the Korean peninsula. Though they are quite underfunded due to the Gunji Hyogi-Kai prioritizing the navy and the air force. To accompany along with the doctrine, the armored tanks and mobilized vehicles are designed with speed in mind, relying mostly on the terrain rather than their armor.

The airforce (Kugun 空軍) role is to mainly act as support for ground or naval units. They were considered elite for their long range weaponry, and their ability to strike down enemy targets with ease. Though of course, one has to gain air superiority to perform such actions. And as such, aerial superiority is there main doctrine. The jets designs were influenced by the soviets, with a mixture from the worker's unions of Mitsubishi. Though throughout time, the Kugun tries to remove such foreign influences on their design, by creating domestic designs on their own. The jets were designed with speed and payload on mind.

The Missileers role is to maintain, and take care of Japan's nuclear arsenal. They also take care of Japan's MLRS systems, commanding divisions of MLRS and rocket based forces. They were tasked on hiding, and has a well known image as the "Angel/God of Death and War" 死神

Over the last 2 years, the Party tries to cut itself from foreign influences and over-reliance. They view them as capitalistic, and would rather keep itself allied with fellow socialists or left-leaning states. Though change is quite slow under Takeshi Mizuto, yet he made the economy stable under his leadership. It is still yet to been seen if he will be elected out of the office, or retain his power as the People's Leader (Premier). There was also a time where a Korean nationalist rebellion took place on the foot of Mt. Baekdu (Paektu), resulting to a brutal fighting between the Japanese People's Liberation Forces and the Korean Freedom Front who they viewed as fascists. The battle resulted to a JPLF victory.

The Party came into power after the February Coup (February 4 ,1930), in which the imperial "Zettai" Division breached the Tokyo Imperial palace, and executed everyone within it. Including the Yamato family, ending their century long lineage. The Zettai Division are made up of officers, whose family were killed by the Imperial Forces, or seized by the Zaibatsus. They received heavy punishments and maltreatment from their superiors. As such, they launched a coup against the Imperial Government, the Emperor, and the Zaibatsus. They took inspiration from the February 26th Incident, in which some government officials were assassinated. The coup happened just 16 days away from the general election (on a side note, the Japan Masses Party lost major support for the house of representatives).

The Palace guards, hearing the Emperor is killed, committed a mass suicide after what they considered their god was killed. The Zettai Division planned to further spread their attacks on other Tokyo Government Buildings, and the Zaibatsus. Only to be stopped by the Imperial forces after they arrived and quell the rebellion on the palace bridge. The news of the revolt spread throughout Japan, and as such, various rebellions took place, seizing the Imperial headquarters, and executing every officers of the IJA and IJN. Many average folk, hearing the emperor was killed, also committed a mass suicide. Though that didn't stopped the workers raising their arms against the Zaibatsus, taking their property and the means of production. The revolution overtook most of the Imperial Japanese home defense, and crushing them down on Kyoto and Fukuoka. The revolution finally ended after the sailors of IJN Kongo seized the ship from their officers, and bombarded the last outpost of the Imperial Army at Kyoto. on May 8, 1932, the Imperialist faction finally surrendered, after the last imperial general Yoshijirō Umezu, committed suicide as the rebels storm the Kyoto imperial palace. And with that, the Japanese Communist Party grabbed control of the Japanese Empire, and its possessions. Though they quickly gave the colonies some representation to the Party, and only to be given with autonomy during the 1980.

The Japanese Communist Party is the only party in Japan. The rest were banned after the successful communist revolt in the 1930s, with the aid of the Soviets (monetary and arms). As such, the party is technically the government of the state. The leader, called as the People's Leader (or Comrade marshal) 人民同志, is elected for an indefinite time, and can only be removed after a majority vote from the Party. The Party is divided into 2 parts. The 1st part, known as the Union of Workers (労働者組合) is the collection of all party members and labor union representatives. And by the meaning of Party members, its an alternate term for nationality. The Union of Workers are also given the privilege to run various Party Ministries such as the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Police, energy committee, Ministry of Culture, Health Union Ministries, etc. They were also given the chance to elect chairman of the central planning, people's commissariats, and other state electives. The 2nd part, the Central Committee (中央委員会) is made up of elected people from the Union of Workers. The Central Committee is tasked on creating legislative acts, and managing the Party Ministries. The term of the Central Committee ministers is indefinite and can only be removed by a major vote from the Union of Workers, retirement, or reranked from the party ranks.

So far, the only major political issue faced by the Party is the growing nationalist sentiments on Korea, despite Japan's efforts to give them autonomy, and a rightful representation to the party. So far, the Koreans fought for more representation to the party, and to change the name of the Japanese Communist Party to the East Asian Socialist Worker's Party (EASWP). They also seek to rename the nation to East Asian Confederation, to destroy Japanese dominance. Though despite having the same rights, both sides still finds a way to unify their stance for the socialist cause. Overall, the Koreans are fighting for a multi-ethnic nation, a federation, and away from Japanese dominance.

The Japanese culture, along with the Korean, has different cultures, both rooting back to the Chinese. This can be seen from their architecture, food, garments, and noticeable borrowed words from each other. There are no official languages, except Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. The most popular culture can be found on sword making and wielding, bow competition, or martial arts such as Taekwondo or Hapkido.

With the introduction of foreign culture, Japanese animation gained more popularity on their state. Though many fans of it are generally frowned upon by the Japanese people themselves. But nonetheless, that doesn't stop studio unions from creating more animations. It is popular among young-adults or teens. There's also a growing number of train enthusiasts. As such, many train watchers, known as "toritetsu" has also been gaining attention, with some being seen to the extreme since there are reports of them delaying the train schedule for pictures, or blocking the railroad.

The most popular culture can be found on sword making and wielding, bow competition, or martial arts such as Taekwondo or Hapkido.

With the introduction of foreign culture, Japanese animation gained more popularity on their state. Though many fans of it are generally frowned upon by the Japanese people themselves. But nonetheless, that doesn't stop studio unions from creating more animations. It is popular among young-adults or teens. There's also a growing number of train enthusiasts. The TSR got pushed back in Ukraine after failed operations. The country has improved defensive and offensive capabilities primarily in the western part of the country. It has also made more claims to territory and has generally been more aggressive.

The point of alternative history is during the anti-Gorbachev coup. Gorbachev is ousted after surrendering power with the coup being mostly successful. Counter-revolts fail and Yeltsin is hanged outside the Kremlin. Most of the USSR's republics leave the Union except Russia, Armenia, Georgia, and Kazakhistan. CCCP party members keep control of new independent states and become puppets of the new state. The communist party in Mongolia in kept in control after intervention by the new Russian state against a revolution. Inside the new government Dylatov Egoro takes power of the country putting it on a Totalist path destroying all opposition. He dies in 2024 and is replaced by his son Slavik Egoro.

In this case I can easily see Laka being fiercely opposed to their hostiles- primarily because of current political system being at very least partially communist- moreover than that they could take in some of the anti-fascist refugees (because living in an authoritarian monarchy which rarely kills people and has some resemblance of social support is better than living in literally fascist state but hey feel free to retcon this part). After the liberalization efforts parties were allowed to be run by civilians thus leading to creations of the peoples hopes for the future. The conservatives are inspired from americas Republican Party while the liberals define themselves more closely to the democrats.

Leaders are allowed to rule as long as they like until they decide to step down in which case elections are held. This has become controversial as of recently and now many people are challenging it even in the chambers of government

Race relations. Being refugees from the south they are extremely hostile towards minority races. They had forcefully removed Latinos and Native Americans from the lands they conquered during the second manifest destiny and racial tensions are still high ti this day

The Galapagos culture is based off war and authoritarianism. Kids are taught to respect authority from a young age and continue to learn until they are adults. The military is widely respected and is held high among the people of the Galapagos as the countries defenders and saviors.

Children are also taught in schools the 2nd manifest destiny however due to racial tensions these are painted in a good light making the Galapagos loon like civilizers and intellectuals. Some races are discriminated against and that is why most minority communities live far away from major cities

The border is just the regular Brazilian and Colombian borders. Columbia itself is a main trading partner with the Galapagos and is very stable and fairly wealthy. In Brazil however things are different.

Crime is high as is drug abuse and the corrupt dictatorial regime does little to change that. Galapagos interventions into Brazil are commonplace when the violence gets to bad and there had been plans to build a wall to keep the immigrants out

Seeing the battle in the air commence and noting that this may be the only time for a feasible invasion Operation Dirty Boot commences. It starts off with ballistic missiles raining down on the towns of Scillia and Villa San Giovanni. Next comes the bombing run on those exact same cities and surrounding areas this comes only after a 5 minute delay from the seemingly suicidal Romanic pilots which despite downing 10 bombers and 3 fighters ultimately cause little more then a slight drawback for the invasion force. The next day brings with it the same thing except this time paratroopers are dropped on the town of Scillia and the northern and eastern roads entering and exiting Villa San Giovanni. After the paratroopers are launched the ground invasion begins. 41,310 troops accompanied by 300 tanks begin their assault on the shores of Villia San Giovanni the plan is to advance north take the city of Naples and then halt and await further orders.
