The Yitankan representative looked as if he was about to have a heart attack as he turned his wide-eyed gaze towards Representative Helmin.

Rep. Tezuyu: "You...what?"

He quickly looked through the messages he had so far been ignoring on his phone, catching him up to speed on latest the situation at hand.

Rep. Tezuyu: "Mr. Helmin you...you're government does realize that denying humanitarian access during an international armed conflict is a war crime and crime against humanity, right? For god's sake, it's against the fucking Geneva Convention, the Rome Statute, and customary international humanitarian law! Goddamit! And now you've gone and made it a big public affair by sinking a humanitarian vessel! Against the loudmouth Marajarbians no less! What even possessed your government to set up the blockade, nevertheless think its alright to sink a humanitarian vessel? Armenia, Aursi, the P.U.E., now this? If we don't pull our heads out of our asses right this second we're going to end up being talked about in the past tense the way people talk of the fucking Axis powers!"

Rep Ivan: listen we all may not like the Chuck but it doesn’t mean we can’t go around shooting Humanitarian Vessels and I say that we rework this blockade that any non-humanitarian would be prevented and all Non-KTO humanitarian ships will have to be inspected by those stationed at the Oceanian outpost codename Coast located in Republican territory who’ll be in charge of inspecting the ships to see if they’re aren’t transporting any weapons and military equipment.”

“As for the situation with Countesia we must crackdown on the PEU as soon as possible as you may know not everyone here is human no offense and if we don’t immediately deal with this threat they will grow in number and then they will be a serious threat that will causes issue among other nations”

Colonel Alexander Peterson returned to the Boardroom after having departed for a time previous. Rested and tended to, he sat down in his assigned chair and opened a folder he had been carrying.

"Representatives and Ambassadors to the Kalisight Treaty Organization," the Colonel started to announce, "the Confederate States has officially raised its defense condition to DEFCON 3. Due to recent actions from parties within this alliance, the Confederate States has seen fit to assume authority in the Gyzantian theater of operations. Attacks on humanitarian vessels shall no longer be permitted without some form of consequence. To this end, we have openly demanded the surrender of the ship responsible for the war crimes committed in the Gyzantian theater of operations. Our fleets are already approaching the responsible parties navy as of this report. There will be no negotiations in regards to this demand.

Furthermore, the Confederate States is now issuing a full warning to fellow allies in the KTO. You will respect humanitarian assets in accordance with international law or we will enforce the consequences of failure to abide by those laws, by force if necessary. All we ask is for our friends and allies in the KTO to act responsibly and in accordance with World Assembly guidelines. Failure to do so will be met with strong consequences either diplomatically or, if necessary, by military force."

He tapped together the pages of the announcement he had read, returning it to the folder. He then rubbed his temple.

"Guys," he said, informally. "Some of you have royally fucked up. I even asked, nay begged you to calm down your national affairs. The reports went in, the President saw the shit your military has done, and he won't abide by it. Someone has to pull the leash on you. I'm sorry it has to be us."

Rep. Helmin takes a sip of water, looks down, and sighs.

Rep. Helmin:"I believe that the shooting is necessary to enforce the blockade. As the way I see it, these humanitarian missions from the Marbs are not possible due to Article 59 of the 1949 Geneva Conventions. As stated, when impossible, the shipment of relief supplies and among others must come from authorized parties on the conflict. As such, we implied that only the KTO, Socialist, Republic, and to a lesser extent, Technates, are allowed. I believe that no war crime was committed from such events."

Helmin lays back in his chair, keeping his tone and composure from the grins and joy from his statement

Rep. Helmin:"JRS Agwan River... heh. They did the proper procedure of warning them before firing, as per my report from the Revolutionary Navy. If my brain serves me right, shooting humanitarian boats whose sole purpose is to transfer peacekeepers with no humanitarian supplies, and under no registered humanitarian organization is not protected by the UN or Geneva conventions. With such in mind, I believe that no course of action regarding such attacks may be needed"

With such in mind, I believe that no course of action regarding such attacks may be needed"

Rep. Tezuyu: "Representative Helmin, can you tell me what part of the Convention you are referring to? I will assume you are quoting from Part 3, Article 59 but do correct me if I'm wrong. If you are, it reads as thus:"

"If the whole or part of the population of an occupied territory is inadequately supplied, the Occupying Power shall agree to relief schemes on behalf of the said population, and shall facilitate them by all the means at its disposal. Such schemes, which may be undertaken either by States or by impartial humanitarian organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, shall consist, in particular, of the provision of consignments of foodstuffs, medical supplies and clothing."

"All Contracting Parties shall permit the free passage of these consignments and shall guarantee their protection. A Power granting free passage to consignments on their way to territory occupied by an adverse Party to the conflict shall, however, have the right to search the consignments, to regulate their passage according to prescribed times and routes, and to be reasonably satisfied through the Protecting Power that these consignments are to be used for the relief of the needy population and are not to be used for the benefit of the Occupying Power."

Rep. Tezuyu: "Now...can you tell me what part of that exactly you are referencing to justify what is very blatantly a war crime? Because I can't find a goddamn sentence in here that says you get to pick and chose who does and doesn't get to provide humanitarian aid! That's not even getting into the fact that it says you're allowed to search the ship, not blow the damn thing up! On top of that, the Article specifies both states and registered organizations, unlike what your corrupted paraphrase has more than implied. And if you're going to insinuate that the ship had NO supplies whatsoever, then that means you boarded and searched the ship, right? Because from the order of events I'm hearing there was no such search! You're pulling shit out of your ass and think we're dumb enough to smile, thank you for the gift, and eat it gratefully. And, frankly, everyone here deserves more respect than that."

Rep. Tezuyu: "Honestly, Representative Helmin, I don't care if some Marajarbian clone fucked your mother or whatever they did that has your balls in a twist when it comes to the Marajarbians. Yitanka hates them just as much as Janpia, but what the Janpian government did was a clear violation of basically every international humanitarian code on the books. No amount of whining, flexing, or straight up lying is going to get you out of this one. The Janpian government has shit the bed and now it must clean it up or lose its entire standing in the international community as well as its standing here in the KTO. Is that truly the course the Janpian government has chosen to take?"

Colonel Peterson looked down at his phone that pinged. He examined a message. He looked back up. Not once during the talks did he smile or feign any gratitude or joy from this. He, instead, looked pained.

"Representative Helmin," Alexander said, softer now that the Janpian Ambassador was receptive, "our fleet is approaching the ship full of war criminals. You will surrender this ship to us. We will try these men on international law, fairly and justly, according to their roles in the events leading up to the destruction of the humanitarian vessel. You may send a representative to observe the proceedings and all crewmen who conclude their consequences faced to them, living or dead, will be honorably returned to your nation."

"Thank you and your nation again, Representative Maximoff, for their dutiful response to the war crimes committed - however accidently," the Colonel said with a nod towards Maximoff. "I was informed one of our Lieutenants from our JAG offices attended and was quite pleased with the proceedings."

Colonel Alexander Peterson cleared his throat, slightly flushed.

"I appreciate your trust in the Confederacy but rest assured, both trials have been concluded via military tribunal or junta," the Colonel assured. "We are presently in custody of the Captain of the JRS Agwan River and will conduct our trial accordingly. Anyway, moving on from this since there's already press coverage of both events from within Gonswanza and on board our battleship, I have news."

He opened a folder, taking out a piece of paper.

"We are commencing military offensive operations in Gyzantia as I speak. Operation Red Phantom is the codename and its objective is to retake and secure key Gyzantian Commune territory."

"Our primary objective is to secure borders for the Commune that are acceptable for economic growth," stated the Colonel. "Once that is done, we will be open to peace talks to secure a future for the Socialists in Gyzantia and, if necessary, support their independence. I understand half of the KTO supports this Republic up north, which I can sympathize with. We, Anagonia, are willing to work with KTO forces if we work together to carve up the rest of the monarchist remnant state."

As the chaos continued in the KTO boardroom, Shin Tezuyu continued to get bombarded by messages from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as they desperately tried to keep him informed of everything that was going on. To Shin it was as if the gates of hell had opened up and the world was coming to an end. He felt dizzied by it all, and at this point he now had a persistent sharp headache.

Then a new message came in that demanded the entirety of his attention.

Rep. Tezuyu: "NUKES!"

The Yitankan diplomat stood from his seat, eyes burning with hate as he glared down the Gonswanzan delegation with barely restrained intent to kill. His sudden standing was slightly thrown off balance by his dizziness, which he quickly stabilized by gripping the table before him.

Rep. Tezuyu: "You dropped NUKES on Canada! Salted fucking nukes as well, because we didn't have a big enough shotgun up our ass with what everybody else has been doing! Get the hell out of this boardroom, and get the hell out of this al-"

Representative Tezuyu's unbridled rage was suddenly cut short as he fell forward onto the table, his body going completely limp and unresponsive. Without knowing he had any preexisting condition, the stress of recent events and his uncharacteristic passion during the past several hours had caused a large intracranial aneurysm to rupture in his brain. He had died instantly, his breathing coming to a halt and his heart relaxing one final time.

At long last, Shin Tezuyu was at peace.

Jun Norikov, in shock from the sudden collapse of Tezuyu, moves to check his pulse.

”……It appears Representative Tezuyu has died.”

He slowly walks back to his seat, before speaking once again.

”…I propose a 3 hour Moratorium while we work out how to return his body to Yitanka, and-

He pauses a moment, uncharacteristically shocked by the relatively common shock of a corpse

“I believe we should consider enacting a structure in memorial, when things have……… calmed slightly…….

Colonel Peterson was in shock. He hat witnessed Representative Tezuyu, a man who he actually called friend due to their discussions together, die. Alexander was active military and had seen death - horrible death - up close. It was different when the death was from someone you couldn't imagine dying, someone who became a rock and fountain of wisdom. Eyes wide, in shock, unable to move, the Colonel stares at the lifeless body as others go to check on him. Then a single tear falls down his cheek. Standing, the Colonel briefly approaches the body and, utilizing his instinctive training, confirms the death of his friend briefly before backing off. He turns, looking at everyone in the room.

"You all killed him," he accused, still in shock. "You all killed the only friend I had in this godforsaken hellhouse."

A silence as the Colonel looked back at the slowly cooling body. He then turned and headed towards his office to process the events as KTO guards and medics rushed in around him.
