"Victory Day" Parade in Karin
Yes, Twas an...uneventful war, to say the least; but, in the end, everything had gone according to plan.
AZNUP's decision to "cease all hostilities" towards their Catholic populace has been considered a victory not only for Armenia, but for religious minorities worldwide. Some refugees, under the guard of the Armenian Navy, are beginning their long journey to New Puerto; while others, mostly those who lost their families during these vilest of times, have decided to permanently settle down in Armenia. Though many seem to have taken to believing the Zarnicovians, the Armenian government, as per procedure while dealing with Zarnicovian "promises" has remained a bit...skeptical of their claims. Who's to say that they won't just continue their violent actions in a much more covert way? Why should, in this case, ANYONE trust what they have to say?
Alen Taslakian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has requested that Armenian representatives; accompanied by members of the armed forces, are to be allowed in to observe the Catholic community in New Puerto - checking for any potential human rights violations, and for any...underground activity of extremists. The Minister clarified that this is "not an act of war; but an act of good faith" and that, were AZNUP truly to be seeking peace, "they'd allow it without a second thought". This statement has come with a surge in Armenian naval activity in and around East Brazilil waters, most awaiting a potential "escort mission". Of course, were any violations to be found, there'd be no other choice but to resume hostilities...and God only knows what would come next in these troubling times.

Peace doesn't last forever...
Shortly after receiving word of Zarnicovia's decision to...FINALLY end their genocide, His Majesty - Gdridg II - received a particularly nasty letter from the Calamastani government; which seemed par for the course for those with membership in the Concord of Independent States. Among such...outlandishly stupid statements are claims of "colonization" and "imperialism", thoroughly demonstrating a complete misunderstanding of both words. Either that, or its an attempt to misconstrue the Armenian government's decisions to better suit their agenda. Nevertheless, His Majesty claimed that any future "slanderous" documents would result in a "less-than favourable" situation for the Calamastanis. This, of course, just-so happens to come out right before AZNUP's aforementioned decision - leading many to believe that this is an attempt to deliberately provoke another war. It seems that only time can tell in these uncertain times, and sometimes, time isn't exactly on your side.
