It’s December of 2021. The Coronavirus has resurgent in certain parts of the nation with the new Omicron variant, forcing residents of the major cities of Insaanistan to brace for another lockdown.
The Taliban, al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, ISIS and al-Qaeda have begun to rear their ugly heads again, as the nation struggles to get back on its feet. Every once in a while, just to keep the government on its toes, they launch an attack. But they’re getting bolder: with the Taliban in control of most of Afghanistan, they’ll now have a safe haven to flock to.
Ethnic violence has again popped up in the nation. Insaanistan’s military was drastically reduced after the war, and the government is struggle to allocate enough troops to keep the peace in hotspots for interethnic conflict.
In Parliament, there’s bickering and fighting over what to do next. Indeed, many are in favor of a move with global implications: isolating the whole country. They argue doing so would keep Insaanis from spreading Coronavirus and malaria elsewhere, and that the nation will better be able to fix itself if it’s not focused on what’s going on outside it’s borders. Others counter argue this would only implode an already struggling economy, and enrage other countries, who buy oil from the Insaanis.
Shaheeda and Muhammad are in Sharifistan with Khadijah Khan, attempting to rebuild their lives there. As for Soraya & Bashir, they are alive and have gone into hiding, fearful of what to do next.
And Nura, once the beloved ruler of the whole nation, is still imprisoned in Polish-Prussia, being drugged constantly to ensure she stays asleep and can’t escape. Fazluddin, her brother, is also still locked away, but done waiting for someone to find him. Every day, he crafts a plan. A plan to escape. Davud has returned to France safely, frazzled and about to enter a new chapter in his life, one he realizes he is woefully unprepared for.
Asim on the other hand is in Gongsi with his nephew, and unsure of what to do about what he feels about Long, something along herself is also dealing with.
Now, our characters, heroes, villains and all, are about to endure challenges they never faced before, and have stepped into a world they do not know. A world more dangerous than even they had ever known. Little did they know, but with the death of Mustafa and ensuing chaos, darkness had begun to creep over the world. Struggling to survive, they neither notice it, nor can stop it.
