Victory for the Olpenese! After the Olpenese Galapagosian War, South Olpen has indefinitely occupied The Military State of the Galapagos. They have also started charging war criminals, especially those responsible for the nuclear bombardment on South Olpen. There are ideas of turning the Galapagos into a GA run protectorate.
Currently, the Galapagosians are giving the occupation force some trouble. There is currently a terrorist cell that has claimed the lives of one Olpenese soldier. Following that, non lethal force has been authorized. Soldiers may also kill any potential attackers without the approval of military brass. Drones are the main occupiers as they do not have any commitments back in SO.

The Meretica Peace Corps offers to send thousands of educators, hospital workers, farmers, and other occupational instructors to the Galapagos to assist in the creation of more jobs. Additionally, former president Noctis Graycloak has been asked to serve as a judge should the Olpenese need additional help.

A large group of Marajarbian Forces arrives on the coast of the Galapagos via Aircraft Carrier, with many of the latest GA Weapons and Equipment. The Marajarbian Forces use a series of trucks and other vehicles to transport military personnel, scientists, doctors, and farmers to New Oversight, while using planes to fly construction materials and large civilian groups into the nation. The forces are armed to the teeth, ready to defend Marajarbian interests in the land as the Southeast Marajarbian Government starts planning on new infrastructure construction in order to also assist in the development of the new Galapagosian Economy as the process to turn The Military State of the Galapagos into a GA Protectorate and/or colony led by a Provisional Council begins.

OOC: The GA is still being discussed. If it’s possible, WTA, UCA, and CP should pursue greater relations until the GA is formed, and possibly hold the Galapagos as a joint protectorate.

OOC: Until it’s fully formed, I guess I’ll just keep it as Olpenese run. Select nations will also have a had in running it though.

A new military base has been constructed off the capital. The base will be an ammunition and storage hub for the drone force, and a barracks/army town for live troops. All other nations working on occupation of the Galapagos have been invited to use this as a military hub.

OOC: Fine, but you won’t be getting anything from the main occupation zone. Or we could work out a deal based on the Sony-Marvel deal over Spider-Man.

Nope. Not unless you agree to a deal where the two zones merge. Once they are able to be a democratic puppet ally I need the, to be United. Also, I assume you have the white bit on the overview map?

In all fairness technically speaking it’s the rebels who are killing your soldiers not us.

The people of the Galapagos protest the building of a foreign military base in their homeland. Meanwhile more protests take place, these protests soon turn into riots calling for all foreign soldiers to get out and for the Galapagos to rule itself. During these riots, the rioters clash with soldiers at first it is just insults thrown at the soldiers but soon rocks are thrown at them. In other parts of the city racism against foreigners and facism run rampant and even more civilians flock to the Galapagos Liberation Army.

Meanwhile with a flock of new soldiers the Galapagos plan to blow up a South Olpen drone factory. At 2:03 A.M the plan is set in motion however it fails and 7 rebels are killed in setting off the bomb as well as 6 South Olpen civilians however the factory stays intact

OOC: Shouldn’t have asked..
IC: The military in states martial law. There is a strict 8:30 curfew for all residents. Any citizens found breaking the curfew are detained and sent to the base for interrogation and a 3 day arrest. Deadly force is authorized if a protest gets violent. The government condemns these protests, with puppet leader Micheal Ariaz calling on all good and patriotic citizens to do their duty and help move towards a peaceful era. After the bombing, roads are shut down to funnel all traffic into one point. Soldiers now March around the streets in broad day light looking for possible pro GLA thugs.

OOC: This is sounding less like a democratic occupation and more like a 3rd Reich occupation
IC: Galapagos civilians are furious with this and any sympathy left for the South Olpen evaporated there. Nationwide strikes commenced and more riots broke out and now violent confrontations were commonplace between civilians and soldiers and in one instance a group of 8 South Olpen soldiers shot at a crowd of twenty civilians killing 10 and injuring 3. Now Galapagos civilians where fed up and they called for an end to South Olpen occupation and an end to the democratic system. They praised the Galapagos Liberation Army and many resorted to facism and a many more fled to Hantouian to become part of the Galapagos Liberation Army that had now grown to over 100,000 members.
