[The Jamesian Republic]

Episode 1: Arrival

In the world of Gaia, The Jamesian Republic is celebrating 230 years of independence from Great Woodlawn. In 1791 after a chain of events like the American Revolution in 1776 The Jamesian Republic declared its independence. In 1795 the war was won. Since then Jamesia has been through many trials and tribulations. A civil war, two great wars and many others. However the nation has been united on September 24th. This year Jamesia has invited dignitaries from around the multiverse to partake in the celebration.

President Lewis waited patiently at Franklin Air Force Base for the inter dimensional dignitaries to arrive. President Georges Dufort of Auberlon and President Erich Hoffman of Weismany arrived earlier that day. Auberlon and Weismany were key allies of Jamesia during the war. In 1795 shortly after the wars end Auberlon declared a republic. (They are on their sixth one.) Weismany was a bit more interesting. Between 1795 and 1917 Jamesia wasn’t as close but they did interact. However the First Great War happened and Jamesia got involved. Weismany became the enemy. Then it happened again a few decades later. However since 1945 Weismany and Jamesia have been allied together more than they have been before. “Monsieur Lewis, when are these people going to arrive? I would like to get on with the tour.” Georges said. “Be patient they will be here. It’s not easy traveling to another dimension.” Scott said. They continued to wait.

Fiadub-2 was one of the Cuaifeach Utility Helicopters carried aboard SDFS Cailín. She was currently moored in Packard Port, a friendly port visit and vessel of transport for two diplomats as we were also on the 2021-Ensign Cruise.
Well, this was how quickly it could go, I thought: Two weeks ago, I had been in the UIS of AHSCA, vacation, a week later I was back at the Naval School, last preparations before we departed again, and now here I was.
The celebrations in the Jamesian Republic had drawn quite the crowd of international leadership, not only us, but here we were - aboard a helicopter approaching the aforementioned air force base.
I was a young woman, long black hair done up in a strict knot, which explosed my throat and my cheekbones, red eyes shining under short bangs. I wore, of course, SDF-Navy Mess Dress, the long-sleeves shirt of the Service Working Dress vanishing under a long-sleeved black jacket. The collar had silver highlights and a silver band was close to the end of the sleeves, the rank insignia of a Leading Ensign on the upper arm. I wore, as I was a woman (and quite well-equipped, if you catch my meaning), a long skirt along with it, as well as heavy boots.
The other officer in the troop compartment of the helicopter, Lieutenant Commander Crixus Laoróin of the Tribe of Kildare, wore a similar uniform, only that he wore black gloves and pants. He was a tall man from the Regiment of SDF-Navy Troopers, basically our marine corps, and he looked dashing. He had short, black hair and yellow, almost golden, eyes.
Safe for the two daggers every Selkie wore and the small boarding axe both of us wore at the belt, we were unarmed, though, and so was the helicopter.
I was not his date, though.
That honour went to Berkant Veidhlín of the Tribe of Kildare, one of the Free Lands' leading diplomats, dressed in suit and tie, his black hair slicked back and his green eyes sparkling. He looked good, but not only was he older then me by a wide margin, he was also newlywed and I had met his wife Maive - a petite, wonderful woman, who had not come along for she was pregnant. I had permission to dance with her husband, though, so it was alright, if the chance came.
Lieutenant Commander Laoróin's date was Liliane Lile of the Tribe of Fermanagh, the other half of Ambassador Group 3 and, in a shocking display of combo-breaking, blonde and blue eyed. She also wore the colourful Geansai of her Tribe, Fermanagh's Red and Gold emphasizing her built: Sportly, yes, but also quite well-endowed, which the holder dropped more then a few hints at. Her hair was actually open, but right now held back by headphones, much like the hair of everyone for the inside of the helicopter were loud.
"We are beginning our landing approach.", the helicopter pilot announced via these headphones, having a difficult trip behind himself, especially since we had to take additional fuel tanks along. The two man crew would later take us back home again, though.
Right now, though, we strapped in and prepared for the landing.
Once the aircraft would have come to a standstill and the rotor winded down, we would unbuckle, hand the headphones back, Crixus would grab the small present we had for the nation, who's independence we would celebrate, and would disembark the small helicopter.
It would be a fun evening, that was for sure.

A small Apanaluan delegation arrives in Franklin Air Force Base, this one includes the 5 royal guards, Emperor Engino, and Gâteau Fraiser, from Squad 3, with all the other members of Squad 3 and 2 hidden somewhere near the base. Another delegation consisting of Squads 1 and half of Squad 2 accompanying Prime Minister Rosamond Song and Foriegn Affairs Minister Alexander Sin is set to arrive shortly after, but for now, they have not,

Gâteau swiftly jumps from the vehicle and begins running towards the joint Jamesian-Auberlon-Weismany delegation, nimbly dodging the bodyguards. He immediately grabs the hand of President Lewis and shakes it with both his hands. Although he caught them by surprise, his charm and charisma mesmerises the crowd.

"Hey Hey Mr President! Gâteau Fraiser here, just call me Fraiser for short, best negotiator in all of Apanalua! It's an honour to be in your presence today. And you there Dufort, commo ça va?" Fraiser beamed. Fraiser was greeted back with a splurge of quick, succinct, fluent French, his face of happiness turned into one of confusion.

"Ummmm, It took hours to get from Victory City to Frank base, I'm hungry, are there any appetisers for me? Is there any cake? Oooh I like strawberry cake, miam miam, they're delicious! Wonder how the Jamesians are gonna make them. Oooh look a helicopter!" he continued, shaking the hands of everyone in the crowd.

Engino approaches the three Presidents.

"Classic Fraiser, always the first to meet & greet, and always asking for cake. Anyways, nice to meet you all, President Lewis of Jamesia, Dufort of Auberlon, and Hoffman of Weismany, I'm sure we all know that we are gathered here tonight to celebrate the 230th Birthday of the wonderful nation of Jamesia, I'm honoured to be here tonight. Here, Monsieur Lewis, a gift from the Apanaluans, a bouquet of Apanaluan flowers, and premium L'Hexagone Chocolates" Engino conferred to the three Presidents.

He then gestures to Itsuki, one of the members of Squad 3, hidden like a cuckoo in the woods. He immediately leaps out of hiding and drags Fraiser before he could get near the recently landed helicopters.

President Lewis greeted the guests from Selkie. “Welcome to Jamesia, Mr Veidhlín, Ms. Lile and Ms. Gualla. Also welcome Commanders. Thank you for celebrating with us. Please report to the Tour Bus for your tour around Capitol City.” Scott said to the Selkie delegation.

Scott shook Fraiser’s hand. “Sorry for any inconvenience but yes we have cake at my home, President House. He then gave a glance to Dufort that said Be Nice. Georges then returned to his neutral face. Scott took the bouquet/chocolates and handed them to Kathleen the First Lady.
The three presidents shook hands with Engino. “It’s an honor to have you here in Jamesia celebrating with us.” Scott said.

Then Scott Georges and Erich then looked startled when security took Fraser.

Erich then looked over to the other Apanulan delegates “You should probably greet them.” He said.

Scott then met the other delegates. “Welcome to Jamesia.” He said.

President Lewis greeted the guests from Selkie. “Welcome to Jamesia, Mr Veidhlín, Ms. Lile and Ms. Gualla. Also welcome Commanders. Thank you for celebrating with us. Please report to the Tour Bus for your tour around Capitol City.” Scott said to the Selkie delegation.

Granted, with the hyperactive puppies arriving after us, there might be some merit to that, but still...
"Is this normal?", Commander Laoróin asked his date in Selkie.
"The brief reception?", Lilly asked, the Commander nodded, "Not unsual, no. But this is a huge event, so he has to be quick with people. Besides, our focus, while Jamesia is our host, is not on them but on the other nations present. Imagine this whole thing as a bit of a single mixer."
The Commander nodded as we arrived at the bus.
I wondered if we would be the only ones sent aboard.

We exited the helicopter, President Lewis greeted us one after the other, thanked us for celebrating with them and then basically shoved us towards a tour bus for a tour around the capitol.
Granted, with the hyperactive puppies arriving after us, there might be some merit to that, but still...
"Is this normal?", Commander Laoróin asked his date in Selkie.
"The brief reception?", Lilly asked, the Commander nodded, "Not unsual, no. But this is a huge event, so he has to be quick with people. Besides, our focus, while Jamesia is our host, is not on them but on the other nations present. Imagine this whole thing as a bit of a single mixer."
The Commander nodded as we arrived at the bus.
I wondered if we would be the only ones sent aboard.

Presidents Dufort and Hoffman climbed aboard the bus. “Guten Nachmittag, Selkie delegates.” Erich said. “Don’t worry the other delegates shall join you. Meanwhile let us introduce ourselves.” He added. “I am Georges Dufort President of the Sixth Republic of Auberlon. Without the Jamesians the people of Auberlon would never have the courage to release ourselves from the tyrannical ancien regime. Auberlon and Jamesia have been allies since 1791. They were there for us during many particular hard times.” Georges explained.

“I am Erich Hoffman, Chancellor of Weismany. Jamesia and Weismany have had an interesting history. While we did help them gain independence for a while relations were distant and then fell into a hostile one. Weismany like Germany had been hostile to other nations even electing a tyrannical chancellor. However the resistance alongside Jamesia released Weismany from an era of terror into an era of prosperity.” Erich explained.

In the back of the bus Konrad Dekker, a foreign intern for President Lewis’s press secretary was slumped in a seat with his face in a book. However he looked up and saw the others. He decided to move up to were Siana was sitting. “Excuse me, is anyone else going to sit here? I just wanted to make room for the others if they ever get here.” He said.

a Qantas Boeing 707 lands in Victory City , despite the civilians inside the V-Jet the Australasian Delegation goes outside of the 707 however the Two Shadow Ambassadors of Japan and Belguim waited until the delegation left

while waiting , the Two Ambassadors were watching SABC News in which they found out that in the Council of Nations Center in New York back in Bok , have given the Soviets a 3 day suspension for its use of force against neighboring countries besides the UAC due to Friendly relations between the UAC and the Soviet Union

the Two Ambassadors were greeted by Robert Malan who was driving a 1959 Mercury Park Lane Sedan which had the IA flag and the flag of the UAC (IRL Australian Flag)

The Australasian Delegation charters a Government helicopter to fly to Franklin Air Force Base , that helicopter in question belongs to the Australasian Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Captiol City (similar to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in IRL)
once they land , they see President Scott Lewis

Mister Veidhlín took over the introductions from our end: "It's a pleasure, gentlemen. On behalf of the delegation from the Free Lands of the Selkie, thank you for the warm reception. The young lady at my side is Leading Ensign Siana Gualla of the Tribe of Cork, SDF-Navy, the blonde behind me in the colourful fur dress is Liliane Lile of the Tribe of Fermanagh..."
"Hi!", the cheerful blonde said with a small wave.
"...the gentleman at her side is Lieutenant Commander Crixus Laoróin of the Tribe of Kildare, SDF-Navy as well..."
"Good evening, Sirs.", the older officer interrupted.
"...and I am Berkant Veidhlín of the Tribe of Kildare, Ambassador of the Free Lands of the Selkie.", he finished. "I hope, that we can talk later."
Once that was done, we took our seats and I ended up with an empty seat next to me. Mister Veidhlín had decided to talk about something with Lilly and Commander Laoróin was as if he was under order to never let her out of his sight.
That being said, I was looking out of the window, when someone suddenly spoke up: “Excuse me, is anyone else going to sit here? I just wanted to make room for the others if they ever get here.”
He looked young, but I did not mind that.
After my moment of surprise was stowed away, I shook my head. "No, the spot is free." I motioned to it with my hand. "If you want..."

“Thank you.” Konrad said as he sat down. “My name is Dekker… Konrad Dekker.” He said as he pulled out a hand. “You are?” Konrad said.

President Lewis met the entire Australasian delegation. “Nice to see all of you. I didn’t expect all of you but you made it none the less.” Scott said.” Please follow me to the tour bus.”
Scott and Kathleen led the delegation to the bus. “For now it will just be us. So to keep you from waiting much longer let’s get touring.” Scott said.

The bus took them around Capitol City. It took them to a few spots of interest. “This is The Irving Monument, a monument to George Irving, the leader of the war effort and our first president.” Scott said. The monument had a covered pavilion with a monolith on top. Next the bus went by the Hawthorne Memorial. It looked like a pyramid with a statue of Cyrus Hawthorne. “Cyrus Hawthorne was president of the Republic during the Civil War between 1860-1865. He not only saw the official emancipation of slaves but led the nation during a very dark time.” Scott said. Next it passed the National Hall “This is National Hall the building were all our laws are passed.” Scott said. Then it reached the Presidential residence. “This my home and the home of every president who has served. This where you will stay while in Jamesia.” Scott said.
