The Galapagos story is one where no side is perfect. All sides have godmodded and got cranky when things didn’t go there way. All of you have acted immature. I say that all you are not children? Correct? So get off your high horses and calm down.

How about:
In an alternate universe the SSS captures the GLA in Beirut this skyrockets the PLP’s popularity and they win 62% of the seats defeating the LibComs and LibCaps and secure independence for the Galapagos while maintaining good relations with the tourists and separating themselves from the GA. This gives the Galapagos independence and the GA a tourist destination.
How is that. If you have any complaints I’d love to hear them so I can edit it.

No. If it’s your canon, it happened, but my canon already happened and already exists.

Middle ground: The election was 50/50 and their is currently deadlock on the bill declaring independence. The PLP is trying to appease the LibCap-LibCom but currently all party members are staying strong in their commitments?

Hmm and did the parties unite?
LibCap and LibCom

Yes. The LibCap-LibComs still formed a coalition, but for spice let’s say the tensions of deadlock was quickly wearing down relations. Not enough for the two parties to split, but enough that a good and enticing offer might lead them to vote Independence.

No. That isn’t a good idea as of yet.

Canonically, yes. They formed the Two-Star Alliance during the election and won the majority.
However that was the reason that another civil war started. Without the election won by them (which in any other cannon forum wouldn’t have happened) the population would be content with peaceful independence. However if we want any sort of resolution then that couldn’t have happened

We could say that the PLP, with some public support in the form of peaceful protests orchestrated by the Dove Party, proposed an independence bill.
