Galapagos Militiamen now known as the New GLA begin to take up arms against the occupiers, this is simple stuff such as helping civilians escape work and harassing anti-independence politicians. The independence government claims that Gov. Edwards is nothing but a puppet to the slavers and he does not represent the people. The independence is not oblivious to past SM actions and they know that eventually if SM doesn’t withdraw they will be arrested for simply representing the people and so a series of bunker and tunnel networks form underground for the independence to flee to if SM cracks down on democracy again. Meanwhile the response to the riots merely turn the populous more violent and demanding that the GA leave or they will make to leave.

In response to the violent riots, they are cracked down on with even more stun guns and tear gas for not being peaceful. Gov. Edwards, in response to calls for his resignation by Galapagosians in the new GLA simply declines. However, two things change. First off, laws are passed to officially ensure and enforce a quicker end to the hard labor policy should the IGRB assist in the promotion of employment opportunities. The second thing that happens is Gov. Edwards repurposing another former government building for diplomatic negotiations between the new GLA and the Provisional Council for the betterment of the Galapagos, with mediators such as the Dove Party, Deblarian Diplomats, and the IGRB.

Meanwhile, construction of the new railroad to Liberty City from the more rural areas of the Galapagos begins thanks to the hard labor policy proving to be efficient enough to provide positive and negative results and jobs for the local population. The railroad is to be built by locals and foreign companies while being secured by troops. The moment the railroad is built is the moment planned for the Government to start a quicker withdrawal.

The Free States are officially at war with the Empire. Led by Acting President Amelia Bell, the Free Staters are calling on Laka, South Olpen, and the rest of the war to go to war with the Empire. "Free this nation!" Bell says in a video statement. "Free Meretica! Meretica today, Meretica tomorrow, and Meretica forever!"

Laura Ortiz catches wind of the war, but she decides to sit back, to let the "big boys" fight it over first. The intent was more so to see where Laka would stand, prior to joining them, along with noting how messy this war could get given a lack of real information on both sides and their possible supporters. This wasn't a proxy war, after all... It was a real, honest-to-god civil war.

In other news, the heat is ramping up for Gonswanza. Egypt and Israel are due to have a final showdown, China is crawling through Afghanistan, Pakistan is ripping into India, the USN and PLAN are facing off around the Philippines and Taiwan is left vulnerable to the Dragon's claws as the PLAN and PLA seem to be mobilizing for an amphibious assault. Brazil is being stabilized, yet, it may as well be in vain. The doomsday clock is at 120 seconds from Midnight, only due to peaceful operations in Africa along with mass evacuations from Ukraine which is still deep in a bloody civil war.

Meanwhile, a successor to Gov. Edwards is appointed. The successor’s name is Howard Andrews, son of WA Ambassador Julian Andrews.

The PLP protest the violent developments as undermining their efforts for a quick independence, while offering support to the Dove Party in its efforts, while the IGRB distance themselves from the violence, deciding it best to not be associated with such matters. Little Brother is furious that this was allowed to have happened, and condemns the policies that brought about this crisis, and the Sealandian Parliament resume talks of abandoning the Galapagos if the GLA continue to effectively resist the occupiers. The PLP demand a referendum of Galapagosian membership to the GA, declaring it the 'referendum to save the Galapagos'.

Some of the mines work at slowing down some Knightmare Lites, tanks, and water cannons. However, Marajarbian ground forces are much more agile, and split their forces into 4 groups of 15,000 for a pincer attack involving the non-lethal weapons, to ensure that the GLA does not escape without taking some damage to prevent their organization from being reckless. Many Marajarbian forces also hope this move will free any arrested politicians.
