The next day, the soldiers woke up, readied their gear, and began their March inland. There could be any number of enemies ahead, but the men were ready for anything the “sand rats” would through at them.

Somewhere in the Iroggi Desert

The few Iroggi soldiers left that had survived the Riftan assault were making a grand retreat through Irogg. Though their commanders had originally wanted to engage the enemy head on, they had decided to instead make a retreat and use guerrilla warfare, already they where beginning to make large underground tunnels to pop up and attack the "invaders". As they retreated many civilians took up arms and either attacked the Riftans, or helped them. But as the Riftans continued their march, a small group of Iroggi armed civilians trekked across Pakistan to meet the invaders and hopefully drive them out.

Irogg, Middle East
The Riftans we’re having a rough time. The regiment was constantly under attack by guerrillas and
traps. The tiny pockets of resistance can easily be crushed, but most often with casualties for the Riftans. The sand-proofed vehicles work well in the terrain, and often are the saviors of skirmishes. High Colonel Raythe rides in an armored truck in the center of the staggered formation. He sits around small table in the cramped truck, and is chatting with a few of his officers. Soon, a communication comes over the radio.
“Sir we have a communication,” announces a communications officer.
“What is it?” asks Raythe.
“A cry for help. The IHS is here. Part of the coalition. They’ve got an officer or leader or something out here, and he got captured. He’s in some city along the way to the capital,” reports the officer”
“Do we have time to make a detour? To take a city, and hold it?” questions Raythe.
“We could, theoretically. We would be more likely to arrive at the capital at the same time as the other forces” says the officer.
“Well I suppose we could do it. We’ll leave behind a platoon to search the city after we take it” agrees Raythe.
“Yes, sir!” replies the officer. Raythe replies to the distress signal through the radio, saying that Imperial Rifta is coming to help them. Suddenly, the sound of an explosion fills the air. The truck skids to a halt as the driver shouts that they’re under attack. The officers and Raythe file out the back doors to see the soldiers kneeling and laying on the ground, firing at an attack group of Iroggis. The High Colonel draws his pistol, and runs up to the formation, ducking behind a truck with several other soldiers.
“Colonel! An infantry unit of Iroggis has semi-circled around the front of our formation. They appear to be armed civilians. Their tactics are unorthodox, and their weapons look faulty. I’ve seen drunks shoot straighter than these guys!” Shouts a soldier to the Colonel.
”Don’t underestimate them. How many in number are they?” Shouts the Colonel back.
”We can’t tell. We can’t tell anything through the sand flying around!” yells the soldier.
”We can’t let them flank us any more than they have. You!” says Raythe to a low ranking officer, ”Get two squads of men, and protect our flanks. We can’t let them circle behind us!”
As the officer dashes off, Raythe and the hiding troopers pop out from behind the truck to see numerous Iroggis dashing towards them, with more shooting from behind them. As the small group of Riftans guns them down, more take their place as dozens more rush the lines of the Riftans. The tanks and vehicles get into position to help, firing their larger guns at the attackers, killing the Iroggis much more efficiently. This bloody style of battle continues for almost an hour until Iroggis break a hole in the Riftan lines. Raythe and two other soldiers rush to the hole, quickly filling the gap again with the help of other small groups. Similar incidents happen throughout the battle, with the Riftans taking lighter casualties than the charging Iroggis. The Iroggis’ soldiers soon slow their attack, and begin to fire at the Riftans from covered positions, rather than charging the Riftans. Seeing the enemy falter, Raythe orders a slow advance through the desert by individuals, who creep behind boulders and rocks towards the enemy. This strategy works well, with the Iroggis slowly being defeated, and the survivors fleeing.
The Riftans regroup from the battle, congratulating each other on the victory. This is short lived, as Raythe speaks to the regiment through their radios.
“We took a lot of casualties today. I’m ordering a third of our alive and well group to stay here, form a camp, and help the wounded. The other two thirds will advance to the capital. But, we have a little issue in the way. Another country known as the IHS is here as a part of the coalition. Their leader, or cleric or something has gotten trapped in a city, and is said to be in a safe house. We’re going to go in, take the city, and try to find the cleric before the Iroggis do. We’ll rest for an hour, then we’re moving out.”

OOC: Tyrantio Land/Irogg, sorry if this is considered godmodding, or is a tactic you wouldn’t use, let me know and I’ll edit it. If not, then IHS has help coming.

"If that's what you think is best, that is how we will deploy the 1st Armored. I will pass this information up the chain. Meanwhile, you can expect us to continue building up our forces in the region. How can we help you most? Do you need training? Equipment? Strategic advice? Or just more boots on the ground? We can provide any of those things. Tell us what you need, and we will do our best to provide it."

Before Commander Jamal could answer, however, there was a commotion on the airfield.

The cause of the commotion was simple. Janpian nationals had been trying to spark a socialist revolution in Catarapania for the past several years, and thus there was significant tension between the two nations. Luckily, Colonel Thygmala was able to calm his men long enough for the Janpian negotiators to be heard out. It quickly became clear that, in spite of their tensions, the two nations' strategic aims in this case were aligned.

The Colonel used the communications equipment that had been dropped off with his command staff to contact Catarapania, and inform them of the revised strategic objectives. The 1st Armored Brigade was now to attempt to push through to the capital of Rogg. Now all that remained was to deploy it. He also informed them of the Janpians, and was given permission to attempt to negotiate a temporary alliance with them for the purposes of liberating the Iroggi Christians, and freeing them from the yoke of oppression.

And so it was that, when General Thaducho arrived, the second person who would approach him would be Colonel Thygmala. The terms offered were simple:

1. Janpia would not force socialism upon the Iroggis if they did not desire it.

2. Catarapania would do nothing to poison the minds of the Iroggis against socialism.

3. Catarapania and Janpia would enter into a joint command structure with the Iroggi rebels.

4. The primary objective of the alliance would be an assault upon Rogg, with the intent of delivering a fatal blow to Iroggi morale.

5. Secondary objectives would include the capture of Mazar-i-Sharif International Airport by allied forces, easing logistics.

If any of these terms were objectionable to General Thaducho, he could negotiate terms that he found more favorable. But this was the initial offer.

After sending out a few tanks to the front, General Thaducho met Colonel Thygmala to discuss about the terms and the temporary alliance. After seeing the terms presented, General Thaducho calmly speaks:

"I agree with your terms. But, I would like to modify the 1st term. We would like to create a socialist party for the Iroggis so that they can vote freely if they desire it. If the Iroggis would desire socialism, we would be happy to help them achieve it. And if they don't, we will simply allow it. And about the joint command structure, we accept it. Our forces will join you soon to take Mazar-i-Shariff international airport as soon as our tanks is done unloading"

On hearing General Thaducho's terms, Colonel Thygmala's face split into a wide grin. "That is more than acceptable. You have a deal!"

After this, Colonel Thygmala contacted his superiors at home, informing them of the updated terms. The fact that the Janpians intended to implement their ideology via democratic means was met with pleasant surprise, and would likely improve relations between the two nations. He also informed them that the Janpians were eager to begin pushing forward, and requested that the deployment schedule be moved up. This request was granted.

He then returned to speak with General Thaducho.

"Today, Catarapania has arranged a force that is capable of striking against the coast. Our intent, now that we know that Rogg must be the target, is to close on it from two directions. From the North, with the 17th Motorized, and from the South with the 22nd Airborne Assault. Our targets for the two attacks are Mazir-i-Sharif Airport in the North, and Gwadar International in the South. SEAD runs have been quite successful on the southern half of Irogg, and now airstrikes can begin in earnest. When possible, we will keep you updated on the situation in the South. We can also coordinate naval forces, if you have any in the region."

"Unfortunately, we are not ready to take Mazir-i-Shariff International quite yet. We need a few days to amass men and materiel. We will also be bringing two squadrons of stealth aircraft - one flight for each of the Rebel airfields. These should allow us to gain areal superiority. In two days, I anticipate that we'll be able to bring to bear two batteries of tube artillery, both squadrons of tactical aircraft, 30 ATGM teams, 15 MANPADS teams, a platoon of combat engineers, and a full motorized battalion. If we are allowed more time, we will be able to bring to bear more forces. What do you think you can have ready in two days?"

----------

The Irogg Expeditionary Task Force consisted of the Aircraft Carrier King Zogradana, the Amphibious Assault Carriers Typhon and Echidna, the Cruiser Argus, the Destroyers Defiant, Indomidable, and Temerity, the Frigates Indomidable, Irresistable, Ferocious, and Fervent, the Guided Missile Submarines Leviathan and Prister, and the Attack Submarines Kraken, Rosmarus, Ziphius, and Rockas. The total air complement consisted of 72 fixed wing aircraft and 48 rotary wing aircraft.

Sorties against every Iroggi military asset within 100 km of Gwadar were set to begin. As the first planes took off, a message was sent to the Iroggi forces around Gwadar, using frequencies identified by ELINT and SIGINT satellites to ensure that every level of command, from the highest general to the lowest sergeant, would receive the message:

To the Iroggi army:

Beginning today, Catarapania attacks in earnest. If you surrender and lay down your arms, you will be taken captive, and treated according to the laws and conventions of war. If you resist us, you will be slain to the last man. Make no mistake, our forces are not to be trifled with. We are better trained, better equipped, and we have an axe to grind. You have slain our brethren in Christ. Those of you who repent - and only those - will be shown mercy.

You have been warned.

Less than an hour after the transmission, bombs began to fall.

Rhunnich

It was late in the night. The Rhunnlandian Security Cabinet had been called by the Chancellor for an emergency meeting on the situation in Irogg. It was like a who's-who of the Rhunnlandian security community: the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the National Central Security Office, the Grand Marshall of the Royal Defense Forces, you name it. Chancellor Heinz von Rabenhaus started the meeting by thanking everyone for coming so late in the evening, and for arriving at the Chancellory building on such short notice. The Director of the National Intelligence Service started off the meeting by briefing the others on the situation: the history of the area, the rebels, the embassy bombing, and Tyrantio Land's subsequent formation of a Coalition against Irogg. The genocide against Christians in Irogg was also mentioned by the Director, eliciting strong disgust from the others.

Immediately, the Security Cabinet began debating on what to do. The Grand Marshall advocated for a full-blown invasion, while the Foreign Minister wanted Rhunnland to push the international community to sanction Irogg, instead of taking a military route. The Chancellor listened to all the assorted arguments and thought while the others continued to bicker. Eventually, Rabenhaus raised his voice.

"Grand Marshall, first and foremost we aren't going to invade Irogg. We're a democracy, not some warmongering empire. And Mr. Foreign Minister, we aren't going to just sanction them either. We have to do something to put a stop to this. It looks like the other Coalition forces have already began ground operations anyway, so in my mind there's no point in us joining that party. I think for now it'd be best for us just to dispatch a carrier group to conduct airstrikes to weaken the Iroggis and help out the Coalition forces and Rebels. I believe there's a task force transiting the Red Sea right now so we can just reroute them to Irogg. I also heard some of you wanted to insert special forces to assist the Rebels but right now let's hold off on that and reconsider in a bit. I wanna see how this plays out before we commit too many assets to it."

"Got it sir," the Grand Marshall responded. "Should I prepare a statement announcing our involvement?"

"No no no. Let's keep this under wraps if we can. All our operations in Irogg from here on out are to be top secret. Although they'll likely be discovered by the public one way or another, let's not acknowledge them. I do however want the Foreign Minister to put out a statement urging any Rhunnlandians in the country to leave as soon as they can. Wouldn't want one of our citizens to be harmed by the fighting or, worse, one of our strikes."

"Got it," replied the Minister.

"I'll tell Fleet Command to send the necessary orders to the carrier group," said the Grand Marshall.

"Alright, thank you all," concluded the Chancellor, before getting up, signaling the meeting was over.

The next morning, during a routine press conference, a reporter asked the Foreign Minister why the government had sent out a message urging Rhunnlandians to leave Irogg, especially at such a weird hour in the night and since fighting had already been going on in some form in the area for years. The Minister replied that it was due to the escalation in the conflict vis a vis the Coalition, and him only becoming aware of said escalation late last night. When asked by said reporter what Rhunnland was doing, if anything, to fight the oppressive Iroggi regime and stop the rumored genocide, the Foreign Minister simply said that the government was "monitoring the situation" and was "not taking any major steps at this time." Little did the reporter know, orders were just transmitted containing the opposite.

Benit read the orders twice over and directed the Task Force to adjust course to the Northern Arabian Sea, just south of Irogg.

International Waters of the Northern Arabian Sea

A while later, the Force arrived in its new AO. Benit ordered an AWACS to be sent up, along with a BARCAP between the fleet and the coastline. The two F/S-12 multirole fighters of the BARCAP launched off the flight deck first, followed by the AWACS. After flying for a bit, the AWACS' ESM detected Coalition naval and air forces on active radar, in addition to some of Irogg's own forces. Most notably, it detected a large surface-to-air radar northeast of Karachi. Benit consulted with the limited satellite imagery available to him and confirmed that there was in fact a radar facility at that location. He came to the conclusion that destroying it would poke a hole into Irogg's air radar coverage, and thus allow him to conduct air ops further inland.

He ordered two S-22 strike craft to be fitted with two HARMs each (to destroy the radar), in addition to four laser-guided GBU-24s in case any other valuable targets are discovered at the site. Each S-22 was also fitted with two Sidewinders in case of any A2A engagements. While the S-22 was not designed for that role, Benit thought it better to be safe than sorry. No escort fighters were ordered to keep the flight size as small as possible, to avoid detection. Stealth fighters would have been used instead of the S-22s, but Benit wanted to keep them on the Carrier to prep for a more dangerous mission he had brewing in his head: a strike at the capital itself. Benit stowed that thought away for now and focused on the S-22s that were now launching.

Image
Silver 1
Just south of the Iroggi coast, 100 km east of Karachi

The two S-22s roared across the ocean, flying just above it to avoid radar detection. They were older craft, slowly being phased out in favor of more modern multirole fighters, but still did their job well and certainly could pack a punch. Silver 1, the commander of the mission, was flying about a mile northeast of Silver 2, her wingman. When they were about 75 km out from the reported location of the target radar, Silver 1's radar warning receiver starting beeping. Just as expected, the emission was detected just north of them, the exact direction of the target. They hit the coast, scaring the hell out of an Iroggi civilian taking a stroll along the beach, and immediately started climbing- can't launch munitions from right above the ground.

The RWR got louder as the Iroggi radar got a better lock on the S-22s now that they weren't right on the ground. Silver 1 and Silver 2 both locked on to the radar with their HARMs. Within seconds, a second contact came up on the RWR: a fire control radar. Silver 1 knew that meant a SAM site had picked them up, likely being fed info from the very radar the S-22s were targeting. The two pilots knew they only had a few seconds before a not-so-friendly anti-air missile would be coming to say hi, so they both pulled their triggers. Silver 1 announced "rifle" over comms, a brevity code indicating the launch of an air-to-ground munition.

Immediately after, both S-22s banked away and started a dive to try to evade the SAMs. Silver 1, the more experienced pilot, managed to evade the missile targeting her entirely, but Silver 2 was less lucky. The missile was right behind him, so he popped flares in a last-ditch effort to stay alive. It worked; the missile locked onto one of the flares instead of Silver 2, but the detonation was in such close proximity to his fighter that its vertical stabilizer was slightly damaged.

Commandant Resuchevsko then sits back and radioed the other tankist to halt. From the commander seat, he checks the visors for any heat or any movement and zooms it further.

"It seems its a bit quiet. Maybe our allies have bombed them all out at this place"

on the radio, he shouts to the other tankists:

"Tanks advance slowly! Keep your engine profile low"

At an airstrip in Iroggi controlled territory

The sunlight was not even over the horizon as men from the Guards Special Aviation Detachment 11 begun to suit up and assemble for their briefing. They were dressed in Iroggi insignia, their identities Iroggi, their aircraft carrying Iroggi marks. The reports from the frontlines were grim at best. Iroggi forces were clearly outmatched from the get-go, and the overwhelming international support from the coalition was something to be worried about. For years, the Iroggi-Demitorian treaties had secured a steady supply of fuel and resources. The Demitorians got the resources, and in return, the Iroggi reaped the rewards. Demitor had always known about the Iroggi threat for decades, knew about their oppressively unhumane policies and backwards government. Yet, the Demitorians played the iroggi like pawns. Whenever a leader got a notion or wind of the backdoors dealings, they were dealt with.

They never expected to be fighting a war. These men had been in country for some time now, training the air competent of the Iroggi armed forces, and generally being advisors to the whole of the armed forces at that. They never did much direct action until now. They knew their target. The Christians. Long a thorn in the side of the stability hopefuls of the government. Now they stand to ruin the goldmine of iroggi oil. It's time something had to be done about them.

With the planes already warming up, the pilots checked their aircraft one last time. The weapons loadout was not commonly used in the Demitorian Air Forces when attacking ground targets. However, this was different. The heart of the Christian capital, the airport that serves it, and several industrial sites within the city. It was risky, sure. Incendiary and Cluster munitions were always risky. Even though civilians would unfortunately be caught in the middle, it was only a token disgrace.

These pilots flew the newest in stealth technology from the Air Forces. Small and maneuverable, they were the cream of the crop of the aircraft. Only 20 of them existed, and ten of these were being used today. This was just the beginning. Rumour has it the Air Forces are marshalling hundreds of strategic bombers in airports all over, preparing to be given the order. As the jets took to the skies, they prepared for the response, whatever it may be.
I am concerned for the security of our great Nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within - Douglas MacArthur

Immediately after the discussion with General Thauducho, a Catarapanian soldier came rushing over. "Colonel Thygmala, sir! We need you at the comms tent!" With that, the Colonel took his leave.

The message read as follows.

UHF RADAR SET UP SUCCESSFULLY SOUTH OF MAYMANA. TEN FAINT RETURNS CONSISTENT WITH LOW OBSERVABLE FIGHTERS DETECTED. RANGE TO BOGIES APPROXIMATELY 90 KM. RADAR CURRENTLY RUNNING SILENT. UNABLE TO TAKE ACTION. SAMS NOT SCHEDULED FOR DELIVERY FOR 18 HOURS. BOGIES ON VECTOR TO MAYMANA, TRAVELING NORTH BY NORTHEAST. ADVISE IMMEDIATE ACTION.

Colonel Thygmala swore to himself. Maymana was the Christian Capital of Irogg. His briefing had indicated that Irogg did not have a modern air force, nor did it have stealth fighters. Apparently, their intelligence analysts had been mistaken. Fortunately, he did have options. A full flight of stealth air-superiority fighters had been sent to the same airfield south of Maymana as the radar had been. The question was whether they would make it in time. He issued the orders.

BOGIES DETECTED EN ROUTE TO MAYMANA. BE IN THE AIR YESTERDAY. REACH MAYMANA IN SUPERCRUISE. WEAPONS FREE.

ten minutes later

When the F-29 Dragon fighters arrived, much of the city was burning. The pilots were horrified. They had been too late. But as they turned to return to their airfield, one pilot noticed a faint return from his radar. Catarapanian radars were Low Probability of Intercept by default, so the bogie was likely to categorize the beam as noise. The entire flight of four jets immediately turned on their afterburners, in hot pursuit of the enemy at Mach 2.4.

Within the minute, seven of the ten enemy aircraft were in the no-escape zone (Pk > 0.9) of the Catarapanain Peregrine air to air missiles. Each Dragon fighter carried 8 such missiles. The decision was unanimous. These war criminals would not go unpunished. The phrase "Deus Vult, motherfuckers" was heard over the comms as all 32 Peregrines were launched - 2 each at aircraft within the no-escape zone, and 6 each against the three just outside of it.

The first half of the trajectory was inertially guided. Then, each Peregrine would receive midcourse correction data from the launch platforms (which were still in hot pursuit of the targets). 3/4 of the way to the targets, each would turn on its seekers - an active radar homing seeker sensor-fused with an imaging infrared seeker - and begin communicating with the other missiles, optimizing the swarm's maneuvers to maximize the number of kills.

30 seconds after launch, the first Peregrines would turn on their active radar seekers. The first targets would have about 10 seconds to respond - and very low chances of survival. The aircraft outside of the no-escape zone would have rings of missiles descending upon them, cutting off possible lines of escape. Their odds were better overall than those of aircraft within the no-escape zone, as they would have an additional thirty seconds to maneuver, but still limited. Even those aircraft that survived the Peregrines would have to deal with the Dragons swooping down behind the Peregrines, with 8 heat-seeking missiles among them.

In thirty seconds, the (presumed) Iroggi fighters would have a hell of a furball on their hands. And as yet, they didn't even know it.

(Image)

OOC: Stopping here to let Irogg post losses from the HARMs and otherwise respond

The few Iroggi soldiers on the ground manning the SAM site where almost completely caught off guard after their lock onto the Rhunnian S-22s, but after it was clear that they needed to find cover before the Air-to-ground munition hit them. Private Jaq Lakisto order the men manning the SAM site to find some cover before they got wiped clean off the map, but it was too late, the munitions slammed into the ground and Private Jaq and his men where instantly killed.

Somewhere under Rogg

Emir Iriqqi Al-Bakar sat in his chair, surrounded by his closest friends and high ranked generals, Al-Bakar cleared his throat and began to speak "Well, the situation is going well, we temporarily beat the Eurominites back, and we kind of held the Riftans back. But you know just as well as I do that we can't win. We can't win with open combat that is. Clearly we will have to abandon the Pakistani region and do what we do best, guerrilla warfare. Those fools will be hit with a new level of fear when some Iroggis pop out of a cave in the mountains, or a tunnel in the sand. We will win this war like we won the last, we will grind the enemies to dust. We will end them." all of the people in the room stood up and began clapping and chanting "Allahu Akbar, may Allah help us demolish the white monster that steals our land. After the people had sat down and stopped talking down High General and Supreme Commander Jal Al-Iqi began to speak "So this guerrilla stratigy is great and all, but what about Rogg" as Al-Iqi said this the sound of Tyranti A-10s pounding the city with Air-to-ground missiles interrupted him. After the sound stopped Al-Iqi continued speaking "Our supply lines are thin and on the front lines our men have almost no bullets to fight the Christian rebels, we must do something before the enemy finds out." Then the meeting ended with Al-Bakar shooting Al-Iqi in the leg and saying "Allah will give us the victory."

The Southeast Marajarbian Government, alarmed by the amount of violence going on in Irogg, and worried about the situation that could come should the extremists and terrorists win, begins to send support to the Coalition Against Irogg. Several Southeast Marajarbian Aircraft Carriers throughout the area begin dispatching troops to the Iroggi coast in an attempt to assist the rest of the coalition in spreading influence and defeating the rogue hostile elements. 15,000 Southeast Marajarbian Troops are dispatched to attempt to meet up with the coalition that is already within Iroggi borders, and 150 Knightmare Lites are also sent to assist, out of 2,000 total models. The General leading the troops was Southeast Marajarbian celebrity General Howard J. Daniels, who was a middle aged, blond adult man, with two scars. One on his right eye, and the other on his chin. The General was ruthless, influential, and quite powerful, and he had two missions. The first was to assist the coalition find the way to victory, and the second was to retire as a Southeast Marajarbian General, and become a UCA Politician in charge of industrializing and opening Irogg up to the public for trade.

Fortress near the Iroggi-Iranian Border

Many soldiers were drinking and going about their normal business when an army of tanks opened fire on the fort from a distance, they were also very alarmed when what looked like hoards of armed soldiers began heading towards them. An Iroggi commander yelled "Get up and fight for the fatherland, man the artillery. The wont advance if we shell them." a few men quickly run over to the nearest artillery emplacements and begin firing on the hoard, they aim for the tanks and large trucks. As they do this overhead aircraft roar and drop bombs that kill many people at a time. Commander Ja Al-Yaqqi looking at the sky says "This is a back day for Irogg".

Iroggi Desert
”Change of Plans” announced Colonel Raythe. He was addressing his men from atop a tank. ”We’re still going after the cleric. But… What our main objective is, is to take a nearby city. It’s a few dozen klicks away, and we’ll be attacking it, and holding it. We’re trying to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. That means no bombing. Once we’re in the city, our helos will be our only support. Tank movements will be limited. Nobody likes urban combat. Our enemies are guerrillas. They’ll mix themselves in with the local population. Then, they’ll pop out, yell ‘HAHAHA, it’s us’ and shoot you. It’s a bad way to go. So, we’ll use standard urban tactics. Split into squads and platoons, and sweep the city. Understand?”
A round of cheering fills the air as the men move out. The battle is about to truly begin.

The Riftans move out in a long column. Their air support follows behind. It’s truly a scorching day. No amount of heat-proof gear can stave off all of the heat. A large rooster tail of sand flies up behind them. That night, they reach the city. As the majority of the men make camp, Raythe and his officers lie atop a sand dune and discuss taking the city.
”Our initial attack is critical. We don’t have reinforcements coming, and it’ll be difficult to win. Drone recon reports that the city is crawling with Iroggis” says a scout.
”Im sending a squad after the cleric. Hopefully special forces. I’ve received word that they are coming tonight, or they aren’t coming at all” says Raythe. ”Well. There’s nothing to discuss. Get to sleep boys. It’ll be a long day tomorrow”

OOC: Tyrantio Land, can I fly in a special forces squad? They’ll be looking for the cleric during the battle. Also, I’ll edit this post to include the battle. Don’t reply to it anyone.

Irogg City- Somewhere in the Iroggi Desert
That morning, the special forces squad, known as Shadow Force 99, arrives. Raythe informs them of the plan, and they ready for battle. Simultaneously, the other soldiers ready for the attack as well. They don their armor, load their weapons, polish their boots, ready the helicopters, and man the tanks. They order the aircraft carriers to launch the fighters to their positions. Around 6 AM, they attack.

Planes soar through the skies above the Irogg city. Bombers and their escorts hit defensive positions in the city with their laser guided bombs. They take most out most defensive positions, including pillboxes, AA guns, and sniper nests. A few minutes later, the Riftan ground forces attack. The infantry and tanks roar through the streets, engaging in combat with the Iroggis. The battle continues as the Riftans push through the city, going street by street, building by building. They reassure civilians throughout the battle. Their supporting helicopters help as well, firing missiles at the Iroggi tanks in the streets. They are quickly ordered to stop by Raythe, who fears civilian casualties. A forward base is established about three klicks into the city, as the fighting continues.

The special forces squad flies through the city in their helicopters, and lands at the forward point. Raythe is there, as well as many stressed out officers, trying to command and coordinate different points of the battle from their computers. The special forces leave the base, and sweep buildings, looking for the cleric. They see numerous scared and injured civilians, and the team’s medic, Rhodes, works hard to help them. Their snipers, Peer and Yaxley scout ahead, each going different ways and search buildings for any trace of the cleric. Their commander, Lieutenant Stallard and the medic follow Peer. The second in command, Rook, goes with Macnair, another soldier after Yaxley. The battle rages throughout the city as the special force desperately search for the cleric.

The other Riftans push toward the city. It is a bloody battle as Iroggi snipers fire at the Riftans from the rooftops. As they are slowly but surely cleared, the Riftans continue this process. They clear small squads of Iroggis as they spread throughout the entire city. Their artillery sits unused in the old camp. Towards the end of the battle, Raythe and some of his officers follow behind the line. As 99 has no luck, Raythe diverts combat troops from the front lines to search. The battle draws to a close as the Riftans close in on the town hall. Soon, all that remains in Iroggi hands is the town hall. Raythe orders surrender over the loudspeaker from a tank. The battle is won, and they wait for an answer.

Shadow Force has no luck. The cleric has disappeared. They search the city long after the battle ends. Eventually, they retreat, defeated. They’ll continue searching the next day. But for no em they celebrate their victory. It’s a big step closer to taking the capital.

Didn’t the idiots back home told them? Oh, for the love of God don’t tell me that we have to do this all over again…
Lakan fleet would stop and identify themselves as Lakan ships, apologizing for the ineffectiveness of the central government in failing to inform them of Laka’ wish to join the anti-gov coalition. With that, they also propose informing IR about their deployed units.

”Stand by” announced the ship. After a few seconds it answers again. ”We apologize for the confusion. We had a report you’d be coming. You are permitted to deploy your troops”

Several hours after their dispatch, several Southeast Marajarbian Aircraft Carriers radio the Imperial Riftan forces, in order to gain access to the Iroggi shores, and start making some moves. General Daniels goes onto the radio to send the following message to the Imperial Riftan ships:

"Imperial Riftan Blockade Ships, we request that you let us through to the Iroggi coast, as we are on the side of the coalition. We are bringing in much needed supplies and reinforcements to better the chances of victory for the Coalition! We repeat, please let us through to Irogg to allow us to set ourselves up and take down these extremists and terrorist groups!"

The IHS has sent an actual invasion force now, consisting of a troop-carrying ship called Musa'id, a small aircraft carrier called Azarakhsh, three battle ships (Sayf, Rumh, Sahm), a forward base ship (Hadeed) and four fast attack ships (Backlava, Enghelab, Muqatil). There were also IRF fighters in the ships, forced out of the country in the Iroggi civil war. As soon as they arrived in range, several rescue planes took flight, destination Karachi.

After regrouping and gathering all intel necessary for the initial advance, armored brigade begins swiftly moving towards the frontline, helicopters actively scouting the area ahead, avoiding partisan-dangerous areas.

Unnamed beach, Iroggi

The first of 10,000 Imperial Marines of the 3rd Marine Regiment made their way ashore with what appears to be no defences whatsoever. Providing backup is the massive fleet of Task Force 38 especially the 4 Montana Class nuclear powered battleships with their 9 massive 18 inch guns. All 4 battleships opened fired before even the first marine had made it ashore. The targets were a pair of fortifications manned by Iroggi troops. This was made known due to a small recon UAV launched from one of the carriers.
