The 2nd Squadron, 3rd Fleet sets out with the 448th (Naval Recon) Wing to intercept the minesweepers. Consisting of 1 destroyer, 2 cruisers, and 2 frigates, the Squadron has orders to fire at the closest ship before getting the hell out of there.

The Lytrovian 2nd Squadron makes short work of the minesweepers it is able to catch, sending 3 refit frigates and 12 coastal patrol craft to the bottom of the Black Sea. However, the Lytrovian ships have pushed perilously close to East Osovia, prompting retaliation by several maritime patrol aircraft already in the area as well as short range anti-ship missiles fired from the coast. In addition, the diesel-electric submarines that had fruitlessly been searching for the Lakan subs in the north are redirected to ambush any vessels that may attempt to flee back to Lytrovia and 8 of the guided missile destroyers waiting in East Osovian naval bases are dispatched to destroy the attacking ships.

East Osovia wrote:The Lytrovian land invasion of East Osovia finds itself gaining very little ground in the northern part of the country due to its heavy fortifications built to repel a potential Russian blitz. Heavy artillery rains down upon the Lytrovian soldiers, who can find very little cover in the vast emptiness of the Pontic-Caspian steppe. Half of the interceptors flying over eastern Crimea are diverted to this new front, and another 50,000 men begin to make their way to the north to combat this intrusion on East Osovian soil.
Meanwhile the People's Council is in an uproar. The New Bolsheviks condemn the National Unity Party for starting this war, meanwhile the Nationalists are furious the Lytrovians would attack East Osovia when it had not (yet) attacked Lytrovia itself and the Social Democrats become split on the issue.
With the invasion of the north, Prime Minister Azster Yorsagra give the military permission to utilize its short and medium range missiles against Lytrovia. Targets include military outposts and installations, communications, infrastructure, and all missile silos (if present in eastern Lytrovia). The government also pushes factories to switch to producing military equipment through grants and increased taxation on non-military good produced. Propaganda campaigns begin comparing Lytrovia to an advancing Soviet Union hellbent on subjugating the East Osovian people.
East Osovia also opens its ports and borders to any militaries supporting the Crimean Rebels and increases its maritime patrol to prevent the mining of its coast.

The soldiers are forced to dig in, although their artillery continues to bombard the enemy positions, and the air force continues recon missions for future strikes. The Navy, meanwhile, focus on the ports, with small smirkishes happening along the coastline.
To the International Community,
Over the past few days, news of war in and around the Crimea has become commonplace. Nations have sent support for whichever side they believe to be in the moral right, or whichever side they believe will profit them most. We understand that we may not share the same convictions as some other nations, but we do not allow such differences to determine who is and is not our enemy.
Like many of you, we too sought to lend aid to a side in this conflict. But unlike other nations, the state of Lytrovia has acted in a rash and violent manner against us. Without warning, without declaration of war, and without attempts at diplomacy, the Lytrovian military has crossed the East Osovian border to wage war on our nation. They may claim this was a "preemptive" strike against a nation threatening their existence, but we can assure you that our only concern was aiding the Crimean people in freeing themselves from a state that has routinely and systematically oppressed them. We did not, and do not, seek to destroy the Lytrovian state, nor radically alter the Lytrovian way of life.
However, it is now absolutely clear the intentions of Lytrovia. From forcibly maintaining the mistreated Crimean people as subjects without consideration of referendum to invading its neighbors without seeking to resolve matters peacefully, there is no other explanation to Lytrovia's actions other than poorly hidden imperialism. How far are we willing to let them go before we acknowledge their greedy ambitions? Shall Lytrovia annex Austria, invade Czechia, and march into Poland before we put an end to such conquests?
We, the Princely Republic of East Osovia, pledge to keep our military out of Lytrovia and the Crimea should Lytrovia cease its invasion of East Osovia. We know it is far better to end this conflict diplomatically, even if not achieving all we desire, than to continue such bloody work and sentence millions of innocent lives to death. However, those who have aligned themselves with Lytrovia should reexamine their friendship with such as bloodthirsty state, lest they may find themselves feeding the next would-be world conqueror.
This is our stance and our promise. Let there be peace between Lytrovia and East Osovia, that a generation in both nations might not know the tragedies of war.

More East Osovian troops continue to pour into the north, now numbering ~60,000. Almost all interceptors have been pulled from the Crimea, now focusing exclusively on maintaining superiority over northern East Osovia while Close Air Support begins a bombing campaign on the Lytrovian position. All the while several dozen coastal anti-ship missiles and maritime patrol craft strike at the Lytrovian naval vessels attempting to approach East Osovian ports as the Osovians' lighter vessels evade combat and attempt to draw enemy ships deeper into the range of the land-based defenses.
As this is happening, Prime Minister Yorsagra has finished penning an official statement on the recent turn of events:

It looks like 12th warband is in great trouble, and won't be present for a party. Still, the warriors have high morale and are ready to strike. Sky Reavers intervention forces have asked rebels about their plans. If they don't get information about specific plan, they would wait a bit and then proceed to the north and pick enemy targets at their discretion.
