These troops are in critical care, and are likely to die if their recovery is rushed. Xenick requires that these men stay in Meretican hospitals until deemed able to safely be transported to Xenick.

Xenick assures that they are moving as quick as possible, but warns that they will not endanger their mens lives simply to protect Meretican pride.

The Deblarian President, Benjamin Fowler, has recently issued a statement regarding the situation between Xenick and Meretica:

The tensions currently rising between Xenick and Meretica has recently caught my attention, and brings me much concern. I do hope and believe that the two nations can devise a rational and peaceful solution to these tensions, and to that extent, we advise that these two nations seek common ground for the sake of peace.

On another note, we also congratulate the Meretican government for successfully reclaiming their homeland from the fascists. I look forward to future cooperation between our nations.

In Domestic News…

The Deblarian Senate, which has primarily been debating over the Union Party-proposed Health Care Expansion Act, which would lower Senior Care benefit eligibility from 65 to 60, is currently bringing the bill to a vote. Members of the Conservative Party have not been shy in calling out the bill, with Conservative Party Vice Chairman Nicolas Peterson calling it “an attempt by the Unionists to increase government spending, tax burdens on Deblarian citizens, and help out their liberal elite friends who are not able to access the socialist Senior Care system”. However, with the Union Party’s quite secure hold over the Senate, and with members of the Workers Party also supporting the bill, it is very likely to pass, after which it would be sent to President Fowler’s desk. More updates will be coming soon.

In other news, candidates from all parties, with the exception of the Union Party, have been announcing their candidacy in the upcoming elections. President Benjamin Fowler has yet to announce that he intends to run for a second term, but many believe it is likely that he eventually will. In the meantime, the primaries for each of the other parties is gearing up to be quite competitive, with many candidates to choose from already.
