I know a blockade is an act of war,
So is invading territory, executing a citizen of the other country without trial and killing military personnel after unfair trials.

Ashleigh informs the British delegation that, in light of their declaration of war, they are no longer welcome in Northumbria. They will leave at once.

They do so promptly.
Meanwhile the Royal Air Force bomb Northumbrian Army bases and General-Sir Nick Carter sends an e-mail to the new Chief Constable of the Northumbria Police urging the arrest of “King Yob”.
Phillip Proudfoot is sent an e-mail from the Chief of Defence Staff announcing (truthfully) that the SIS is under his command and also asking the location of “King Yob”.

Ashleigh calls Michael Wigston a war criminal.

Michael Wigston asks which specific war crime(s) Ashleigh is accusing him of, saying “I’ve warned the non-combatants to evacuate, because I want to save the civilians. The soldiers and paramilitary fighters are the people I’m trying to flush out.”
He then gives the order saying “the warning has been received.”

The RAF air-strike homes across Newcastle and Gateshead, focusing on Gateshead and Byker (where intelligence identified a high number of fighters resident.)

British also lobbied the Security Council to intervene in the conflict.
This is accepted by all 5 permanent members except China (as “payback” over threatening their control of the Congo).

Britain puts in a request for American military aid which President Joe Biden approves of.
If the war gets more desperate, they might even end up seeking Congolese military aid.

OOC:
Please post military, paramilitary and civilian casualties.

Ashleigh says that King Yob is actually fighting on the front lines, and that it is ironic of the British to insinuate that he is a coward when they are sending assassins after him rather than actually facing him. With a giant megaphone, King Yob announces to the British that he accepts the challenge and will indeed meet the Scots Guard officer in the morning.

IC. Since the assassin thing got leaked Marine A has been court-martialled and charged with: disobeying lawful commands,
failing to perform duty unfitness through alcohol, dangerous driving, injury and murder (because the license to kill from the Secretary of State doesn’t extend to killings on British soil).

“How many men are you bringing?” asks the Scots Guard officer before adding, “I’ll bring the same number”

OOC:
What’s the minimum age to enlist in the Northumbrian Army?

The minimum age to be deployed?

The minimum age for combat?

In Ideal Britain it’s 16 to enlist, 17 to be deployed (e.g. in Logistics) and 18 to be specifically sent into combat (though their unit can be sent if it’s not possible to recall them for the safety of other troops).

Marine A is drunk in a Sunderland pub right now, and this is a rather strange reaction (also, a licence to kill DOES extend to killings on British soil) to his work so far.

"None," says King Yob, who indeed will bring no men with him.

OOC: 18

“Then I’ll also bring none.”
