Then again I suppose it makes us look bad if our armed forces kill them.
Is that the idea?
OOC: It was the decision of the children to fight. Ashleigh has nothing to do with the militants, he is a peaceful politician.

IC: the British government requests negotiations over the fate of Jesmond: Chi Onwurah and Dan Jarvis negotiating with Phillip Proudfoot and Alvin Ashleigh.
OOC:
If Alvin Ashleigh is Prime Minister who is President?
Do they have a monarch?
I’m guessing they have a President but he/she is just a figurehead, with Alvin Ashleigh in real control.

OOC: Ashleigh is both prime minister and president; the two are the same position in Northumbria.
IC: Ashleigh accepts the request for negotiations, however a location will need to be decided upon.

Deputy Director Alexander Beaufort of the Northumbria Desk of the Secret Intelligence Service asks Marine A his progress.
His car has one of those things where the car radio transmits his voice so he doesn’t need to pick up a phone whilst driving.
OOC:
Marine A would be from the Royal Marines, trained by the SBS and seconded to MI6.
That’s why he needs a “license to kill”.
He would be from the SBS because of the type of missions combined with the fact he was a Marine.

"I'm currently at Sheffield, sir," says Marine A, who is from the Royal Marines and SBS as you say.

“Ok.”"I'm currently at Sheffield, sir," says Marine A, who is from the Royal Marines and SBS as you say.
“Good. Almighty God be with you, and may you get a VC.” said Alexander Beaufort.

“Can we bring a military presence for our protection?” asks the Prime Minister Daniel Owen Woolgar Jarvis MBE.
Following the intelligence that Alvin Ashleigh is not connected to the insurgency, he is also invited to Major Muhammad Khan’s wedding.

Ashleigh agrees to Jarvis' request to bring a military presence for the protection of the British delegation. Ashleigh declines the wedding invitation. The vegetarians are offered a meatless grey paste since they hate the grass so much.

Dan Jarvis and Chi Onwurah head to Newcastle-upon-Tyne for peace talks. They are protected by the Special Air Service and Scots Guards.
The vegetarians cease hunger strikes and accept the compromise.
