The Suhyangdae Presidential Palace, Hanseong Special City, Democratic People's Republic of Utara

Hwa-young stares intensely out of her window. It was winder time, the palace was blanketed with snow. In the distance was the city of Hanseong, it's light glistening at the horizon. She gripped her fists tightly, Hwa-young is nervous about the upcoming event, the 15th Congress of the People's Justice Party, where she will announce to the world that Utara is finally ready to open up. The Democratic People's Republic have remained in isolation for many years. A product of her father's destructive ideology. It has been several years since her father's passing, on his death bed, Ryu Go, her father spoke her about the things he had done. He have regretted the suffering he had endowed upon the country. Hwa-young recalls how her father held her hands in his death bed. "You must undo my sins!" he exclaimed. That moment had been ingrained her memory ever since.

A gentle knock was heard at the door. Hwa-young turns slightly to face it, "Come in!" she said. The door gently opens, revealing her sister, Ji-hye behind the door. "Older sister.. Are you thinking about the speech?" she said, entering the room. "You seemed pale, a lot must be on your shoulder. No matter what happens, I'll be with you ok?" Ji-hye continued as she approached Hwa-young. Hwa-young nods as Ji-hye held her hands. "Do you think this is what father really wanted?" Hwa-young asked. "I.. I'm not sure" Ji-hye replied, "But I think this is what is best for everyone right now. The country has a lot of problems and it's very far from being perfect. But at least, since the day you became President, you've made many changes that helps the people. They love you" continued Ji-hye.

Hwa-young turned to look back to the cityscape in the distance and spoke, "Yeah.. I guess it is only right we go ahead with it. No matter how hard is it." There was a moment of silence in room. Ji-hye stood by the Madamme President for duration of the moment. She was awaiting an order to be passed. Hwa-young then held the centerpiece of the blue diamond necklace that had been given to her mother when she was young. Somehow, by holding the piece of jewelry, it inspired confidence in her. "Ji-hye.. Write the communique. Lets reach out to the others.." Hwa-young ordered. "Right away!" Ji-hye saluted and stormed out of the room. It was an important moment in Utari history, one that may go down as the turning point for the country or as the sealing of the country's demise. Only time will tell.
