The east's balance in the world is falling. Conflict across the world are coming to an end and a beginning, as each year holds. The world is leaning into a new era for all with tensions lowering amidst the Cold War, as states begin changing and reforming, or transforming into new entities of their own, finding ways to deal with their own problems in whatever ways they can. While some keep to themselves, others patrol and enforce across the world, trying to meld the world's more malleable states to their own agenda, while others try to protect them for their own good. How will the world shape in preparation of the oncoming millennia, where culture and technology may shift yet again for better or for worse?

Honestly, this is my first time trying to be the OP for this sort of RP, but the general rules still stand for most RP's, as will be posted here:

Code: Select all
    * No unjustified war - PVE or PVP
    * No OOC in the IC chat
    * No unrealistic invasions. Also, keep them at reasonable length
    * Keep use of WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) to a minimum
    * NO GODMOD
    * No apocalyptic weapons
    * You can't PEACEFULLY annex a country that belongs to someone else unless you both agree.
    * Let war build up before it breaks out.
    * If you are quoting someone, only quote the part that you are commenting on.
    * Put "Wahoo" in your APP if you have read all the rules

As well, there's always an app. There will always be apps. Randomly joining RP's just ain't fun, yo.

While slots fill in, I'll be working up a map, just for additional reference: For now, it's blank of course, until I piece my own nation onto it. For now though, please do take your time, since I'll be waiting to get a decent amount of nations in before we start the IC. At least maybe 8-10, for now. But for now, enjoy yourself!

by Socialist Internationale of Osteuropa
Application
Name of State?: The Socialist Internationale of Ost-Europa
History: After the formation of the Warsaw Pact in the starting years of the Cold War, the Pact members had operated independently for the couple years after 1955, though the time spent allowed a few referendums to pass about locally, with the members reforming with other nearby socialist states like Yugoslavia, as well as the Baltic states and the Caucasus, lobbying the Soviet Union to relinquish control to the Pact, as they began to seek their own centralization outside of the Union's puppetry. After a careful amount of Western-backed force, meant originally as a means to try and dismantle both states, Osteuropa was formed after the territory was relinquished after a lengthy political conflict turned hot for a couple of months, leaving Russia with merely its own devices to squander for the next couple decades: Osteuropa became the tertiary Communist superpower alongside it, centralizing its power within the various capitals while the West had to deal with a closer power amidst its doorstep. Over the decades, the Osteuropean government began to continue merging what it could out of its entities, working its best to replicate its military power to be the standard of both equal to the West, working with the designs taken from the Soviet engineers, and furthering their work. If Communism will fall, it will not be within Osteuropa's borders.
Flag, Symbols, Etc.: Namely, coming from a various area of origin, Osteuropa is still based about its various elements, while still keeping to its new overall national identity, with the red star in the golden triange being the main symbol, with the dark red, gray and white being the national colors.
Population?: Around 356 million people
Language: Language varies by state, though most major languages are German, Polish, and various Slavic languages as well as Russian further east.
Government: Osteuropa is a political union, taking in various communist and socialist states and incorporating in their territory as one giant union, much like the USSR and United States.
-Type of government: Primarily socialist, though more centre-leaning parties still exist as minorities across Osteuropa.
-Most Important Ministries: Internal security, foreign relations, news and media, as well as their prosperous industrial departments.
-Head of State: Varies on state, though overall the national decisions are between the People's Assembly.
-Head of Government: The People's Assembly also handle everything, with regional leaders handling over their areas.
-Special Agencies: GEHIRN, the collection of the various state intelligence agencies and secret police forces, still roam and aim to ensure Osteuropa is at its finest in every regard, to ensure no dissention.
Military: Numbers only account for the Osteuropean forces registered under government control, does not account for state and local militias.
-Army: Around 2.5 million enlisted, with 6 million in reserves.
-Navy: 1.7 million enlisted, with 4 million in reserves.
-Airforce: 300,000 enlisted, with 1 million in reserves.
-Special Forces: GEHIRN, though numbers aren't capable to adjust for due to varying accounts of size being highly unreliable.
Culture: A melding pot of various states, Osteuropa doesn't have an exact national culture, though does have the national spirit where everyone knows that they are different, but that Osteuropa means that they are all equal to one another.
-Religion: Originally, state atheism was enforced, but after Osteuropean governments had began to realize it was a mistake due to the suppression it enforced, it was let up, allowing any statesman to follow their own faith.
-Norms: People across the union work various industrial jobs, though if they don't, it's either in local government jobs, or agricultural efforts. Between that, education is looked upon highly for it's what is believed to be what the future of socialism will be led: the next generation will be the most prominent leaders.
-Society: Life is genuinely quiet outside the military, but most enjoy taking it to a militia or club for the fun of spending time with others and keeping in shape at the same time.
-View of Neighbors: The west is viewed as a problem, seen as a bastion of fascism which had marred them decades before. Other socialist nations are seen in better light, a much better effort to collaborate with them over the western world. Immigrants of course, are always welcomed.
-View of Inhabitants: People are separated mainly by ethnic lines, language being the biggest defining border, though with education on the rise, younger generations are bridging that gap and knocking said metaphorical wall down.
Borders? Area of the former Warsaw Pact, as well as Yugoslavia, West Germany, Greece, Ukraine, Belarus, and the Caucasus
Color?: Dark Red

Name of State?: North American Technate

History: Howard Scott's Dream never truly died. Although the idea of the Technate died with Roosevelt's New Deal in the 1930s, portions of it survived in political thought as WW2 came and passed, and a new era of prosperity swept over North America. Though, the American Ideal would come crashing down once more only 30 years later as the oil shock gripped the western world. As the failures of Politicians gave way to harsher and harsher consequences, incompetence making itself king. The public consensus was decided; To get rid of them altogether. In less than a lifetime, the concept of the North American Technate gripped the American consciousness twice, the idea being resurrected and made anew. Protests turned to Riots, and Riots turned to Revolution, and on the year 1974 the North American Technate was born. Technical Experts and Scientists were the orchestrators of the Grand Machine, and Howard Scott was their guiding hand. In an experiment of continental scale, cities were reorganized and interconnected, and the old price system was done away with. A once decaying American industry was revitalized, as the opulent North American lifestyle was made sustainable. Just as a human consumes energy, he also creates energy in the form of labor and productivity. A net zero growth economy was achieved, with Western luxuries made for all. As the Old Leadership come of age and pass the torch onto a new generation, what will become of the North American Technate? It's mission is unfinished, the Western Third of the Continent still under the rule of the remnants, as threats to it's existence announce their presence across the globe. As Time paved the way for the North American Technate to rise, it shall lay the bricks to either it's path to a New Golden Age, or it's Demise.

Flag, Symbols, Etc.: Along with the flag, symbols of scientific progress and industry are associated with the Technate.
Image

Population?: ~206,000,000

Language: English (Lingua Franca), French, Spanish.

Government: The Technate, as a successor to the Technocracy movement in the 1930s, replaces politicians and businesspeople with scientists and engineers who have technical expertise to manage an economy and society, which are organized into Corporations. These Corporations are planning bodies that both manage the economy and handle day-to-day governance. To note, instead of utilizing a pricing system, energy values are used instead, in which items are "priced" according to how much energy was used to make them with the goal of creating a sustainable yet advanced society. Technological progress and sustainability are at the forefront of policy.

-Type of government?: Technocracy.

-Most Important Ministries: Corporation of Agriculture, Corporation of Industry, Corporation of Labour, Corporation of Citizen Relations, Corporation of Defense, Corporation of Energy, Corporation of Transportation. Institute of American Continuity, Institute of State Security.

-Head of State: Continental Director.

-Head of Government?: Head of the Continental Board.

-Special Agencies: Institution of State Security. Primary domestic intelligence and security agency in the Technate, maintaining a paramilitary standard in order to handle counter-terror operations.

Military: Local and National Components are maintained, the Technate National Guard being the local component and the NAT Armed Forces being the National Army. The National Guard is considered the reserve component to the NAT Army and Airforce. Participation in the Armed Forces is nominally voluntary, supplied by an arms industry inherited from the former USA. The Citizenry are also armed and can create militias under proper circumstances.
-Army: 1,200,000 Active Duty. 800,000 Reserve

-Navy: 500,000 Active Duty 150,000 Reserve

-Airforce: 600,000 Active Duty. 400,000 Reserve

-Special Forces: Institution of State Security. Marine Corps. (Mobile Force.)

Culture: The Technate retains much of the culture of English-Speaking North America, though it has been heavily influenced by the Government's policies.

-Religion?: Secular. Free to practice, though kept out of the Govt.

-Norms?: Effectively a more efficiency and progress minded American Culture. Everyone is expected to take part in their allotted work schedule and not waste, recreation is prevalent and when the time calls for it encouraged.

-Society?: Built upon the backbone that is North American Industry and the continents vast resource base, many cities have been restructured with efficiency and livability in mind as a sustainable abundance has been achieved through industry. Although the cities are organized along the lines of efficiency over aesthetic, personal life retains the vibrancy it had under the former United States government, with cultural innovations being much the same.

-View of Neighbors?: Indifference at best, looked down upon at worst. Through the teachings of the Corporation of Education the new generation is taught that the world around the state is run inefficiently with little regard for the individual.

-View of Inhabitants?: Social classes have been largely eliminated under the Energy Theory of Value, and as a result all are expected to treat one another with respect. Scientific Careers are encouraged to further the progress of the wider state, however one is not stopped from pursuing a career they would find themselves to work the best in. The Younger Generations are much more accepting of the Technate, as the Older Generation still holds onto the memories of the old United States.

Borders?: Canada & USA East of Rockies.

by Livonia and Samland
Application

Name of State: The Grand Duchy of Livonia

History: Save for the Samland Peninsula, all of the territory of Livonia was formerly part of the Russian Empire, however, the region's nobility descended from the earlier Teutonic Order, and were of German stock. After the end of the First World War, there was a successful attempt by the combined forces of the nobles' personal detachments, the Baltische Landeswehr, as well as the VI Reserve Corps of the Imperial German Army, the Freikorps Iron Brigade, and the West Russian Volunteer Army to secure the land in the Baltic for their own. They managed to defeat the Bolsheviks, as well as the nascent forces of the new republics in the region and the Allied powers, and settled for peace as a newly independent state in 1919. After a subsequent attack in the 1920s was repulsed, the problem of domestic communist uprisings became a worse and worse problem. Reluctantly, the nobles were forced into the position where committing to land reform was necessary. Ever since then, they have worked to assuage the local population through concessions, some attempts at areas of general meritocracy in parts of the government, and through attempts at fostering a culture of noblesse oblige. These efforts to keep the general population appeased and happy while retaining their position only amplified after WWII, with the panic of being surrounded by communist states. The nation now walks a careful balance, working to retain some trace of its old feudal system while keeping the larger mass of the country from revolt, or worse, allying with the reds. It has become, in all reality, something of a fortress in the east, building decades upon decades of border defenses in order to desperately safeguard against the looming giant at the gates.

Flag, Symbols, Etc.: Aside from the flag itself, the cross, the wolf.

Population: 7,000,000

Language: German is the language of the state, but Russian, Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian are officially recognized.

Government: Livonia is essentially a semi-constitutional monarchy with democratic elements.

Type of government: The Grand Duke is the head of state. Below him is the Diet, which is a sort of bicameral system divided between one house, where the public at large are permitted to vote for their officials and run for office, and another, the Ducal Council, which is formed entirely of the nobles of the realm.

Most Important Ministries: The Ministry of War, Ministry of the Interior

Head of State: The Grand Duke is the head of state. He can, in fact, exercise quite a substantial amount of power, but the current ruler typically withholds from doing so.

Head of Government: The Minister-President handles most of the day to day running of the Duchy.

Special Agencies: The Correspondence Bureau is effectively in charge of censorship and control of information. There is also the Border Security Agency(GSB), which is more of a general counter-terror organization, acting as the arm of the Ministry of the Interior.

Military: The country has mandatory national service of two years for all citizens, and stockpiles of arms are kept in every major city. As a result, if needed, the local population of any given region may supplement the numbers of deployed troops. In addition to the Livonische Landeswehr, there is also the Civil Guard. Many of the Counts and Barons within the realm retain their own private security detachments, composed of hereditary retainers and sometimes foreign mercenaries.

Army: 360,000 Active Service

Navy: 40,000 Active Service

Airforce: 100,000 Active Service

Special Forces: Aforementioned GSB, Jaeger Regiment

Culture: As a multiethnic state, culture differs substantially in the regions of Livonia, however, certain practices and traditions are promoted across the board by the government in order to attempt to foster feelings of unity and brotherhood between the different peoples and classes.

Religion: Lutheranism, however, there are substantial Orthodox and Catholic minorities. Religious minorities are not persecuted, but the state religion is strongly promoted to try and create more cohesion.

Norms: There is a significant divide between the etiquette and dress based on the social classes, as the aristocracy is still very much alive in Livonia.

Society: Much of the country is fairly agrarian, and generally people live normal and simple lives. However, there is fairly strict control over the borders, and pretty much all media that is even vaguely perceived as pro-communist is censored. That aside, free enterprise is permitted and encouraged, and even some criticism of the government is allowed.

View of Neighbors: The Grand Duchy is generally quite paranoid, having been surrounded and periodically attacked by communist forces since its inception. However, it has constantly attempted to ingratiate itself to any and all anticommunist forces within the continent to attempt to safeguard its independence.

View of Inhabitants: While the pressure has been somewhat relieved over the last century, this is still some noticeable tension between the German ruling class and the other ethnic groups within the country. Through common struggle against outside forces and attempts at reform, most of the active hostility has died down, but a level of mistrust and misunderstanding still remains.

Borders:: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Kaliningrad

Color:: Ice blue

Application

Name of State? The Unitarian Brotherhood
History: The Unitarian Brotherhood is a transnational coalition of organizations and elements of nations that are united in a combined fight against what they feel are the global superpowers. They publicly act as a humanitarian organization that provides relief to both disaster zones but also attempts to gain goodwill and contacts in areas where they believe they can prosper. Founded in the sixties by a young charismatic the brotherhood has successfully gained bases of operation in several countries in North-East Africa and the Middle East as well as some militia groups in the USA. However, over the years religious undertones have started to appear in the deeper ranks of the brotherhood and rumors are starting to appear that they worship their founder as a divine prophet.

Flag, Symbols, Etc.: The Public Symbol is a circle made out of rings that symbolize the connections between all people in the world. They also have a secret banner used by the inner circle which is a black flag with a red triangle that contains two half circles in a metallic grey color.

Population? Volunteers in the brotherhood amounts to about 100 million volunteers all over the world who donate their money and time to help with their relief efforts, however, the more radical and extremist parts number in the tens of thousands spread around USA, Africa, and the Middle East.

Language(What language does your country speak? Is it official or the Lingua Franca?): The most common languages in the brotherhood are English, Arabic, French, and Swahili.

Government: Most of the organization is ruled by the Inner Circle which is a council of local leaders who in turn report to the Founder. The inner circle is divided into the humanitarian organization, private corporations as well as the High Command of the Armed Cells in their three main areas. From there the brotherhood operates like most other groups either using military, corporate leadership methods. However, apart from the Inner Circle is a group of the founders most fanatical adherents who act as his inquisitors and envoys as the situation demands. Each of these fanatics has the authority of the founder to make sure other parts of the brotherhood fulfill their obligation, however, if they use their authority in a capricious manner they are summarily killed for breaking their oaths. To simplify the brotherhood is an oligarchical institution with deep convictions that border on religious fervor.
They are starting to operate more openly in certain areas and it is only a matter of time before they claim the countries of Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, and areas along the Nile River
-Type of government: Oligarchy with a public front that appears to be democratic. The main organizations that compromise the brotherhoods public front is,
- Pax Aeterna: A humanitarian group that provides relief aid in areas as well as helps to build infrastructure in poor regions. For the brotherhood, they provide a means to launder money as well as moving personnel and resources in the guise of relief goods.
- Stahl Manufacturing Group: Is a large manufacturing conglomerate known for building factories in Africa, creating new workplaces as well as stimulating the local economies.
- Mtandao Wa Madini (MWM): MWM is a recently created mining company with the purpose of establishing mines in Africa. For the brotherhood they provide another means to provide funds for the cause as well as providing the brotherhood with tunneling equipment for building underground bases.
- Church of Unity: A new syncretic church that seeks to unite people from all religions tries to push the religious aspects of the brotherhood so far they have seen great success in East Africa, North West America and the Middle East.

-Most Important Ministries: Inner Circle, Board of Directors, Envoys of Peace, Military High commands, Public Relations and finally Religious Missions
-Head of State: The public figure is Pierre La Croix who is a french millionaire who is the chairman of the Humanitarian part of the brotherhood. He is one of the Founder’s most devout adherents and is a big reason why the brotherhood has expanded in the last twenty years. However, the Founder is starting to take a more public role in some areas to boost the fanaticism of their adherents
-Head of Government: The founder has the final word on any decision made in the brotherhood.
-Special Agencies: Envoys of Peace which acts as a covert propaganda arm of the brotherhood as well as creating new strongholds. Death-Commandos is a group of soldiers that report directly to the founder. Complete fanatics that obey his every whim and deal with any potential threat inside of the organization and sometimes outside.
Military
-Army: The brotherhood’s military is split between the local militias which act as a combination of police, garrison as well as providing deniability to the extent that the brotherhood is involved in a certain area. These militias are usually poorly armed insurgents only given basic training in how to use their weapons and little more and are expected to be little more than cannon fodder when used in battle, however, what they lack in training they make up with dedication and insurgency tactics
The second part of the military is the brotherhood's regular forces often referred to as neophytes in internal documents. These are troopers trained and indoctrinated into the brotherhood's regular military. They are trained to a certain standard and need to be of fit mind and body in order to be considered acceptable candidates. Neophytes that want to resign during training are often killed in secret in order to maintain secrecy.
Neophytes that are deemed of higher skill can further be trained to join the brotherhood's motorized infantry or other divisions where their skills can be used.

The current amount of brotherhood personnel is currently unknown, some estimates place in the low thousands while others place them around 50.000. However what the Unitarians lack in number they make up with an ability to rapidly expand and replenish their military in secret.

-Navy: Due to their covert nature there exists no official brotherhood Navy, instead they use modified cargo freighters as transports and mobile command bases. Currently, they operate 10 freighters in varying sizes with the largest one having been modified with a moon pool that can launch a submarine for covert transports onto shores. All of the freighters have hidden weapons in order to protect themselves from searches from coast guards and law enforcement.
-Airforce: Due to the logistical issues in procuring large amounts of aircraft without arousing suspicion the brotherhood has a relatively small stash of military aircraft. Currently, they are in the process of using a puppet government in Somalia to purchase military aircraft while also modifying civilian helicopters and airplanes to create an unofficial air force. They also use cargo planes in order to move supplies that are concealed as humanitarian aid.
-Special Forces: The two special forces that exist in the brotherhood military are the Envoys of Peace and Death-Commandos. The Envoys are used in order to prepare areas for indoctrination and building up a pool of readily available volunteers that can be used for various functions. Envoys of Peace are usually employed by the humanitarian organization as a cover and can use their resources in order to create a foothold.

Death-Commandos however is a purely militaristic group that is used when an individual needs to be assassinated. Numbering around 100 individuals at any given time they are the best of the brotherhood's soldiers while also the most fanatical. Directly commanded by the founder they are used as a way to deal with rogue elements as needed. They are trained to blend in the areas they operate and try to conceal their work as either criminal assassinations by cartels or political murders ordered by local politicians.

Culture: Consisting of a wide variety of different nationalities and cultural groups has made the brotherhood very wary in trying to impose new ideas or cultures amongst the regular population. Instead, the Unitarians have decided that in order to change the world they need to educate the young people with their new values while still not causing too many social disturbances. As such you can see a split between the younger generations in brotherhood areas who accept the brotherhood's teaching of equality and self-sacrifice to the cause, contrasted with older generations who retain older social norms.
-Religion: The brotherhood is currently promoting the idea that the Founder is a divinely inspired leader that has been sent by a higher being in order to bring salvation and unity to all no matter their origins. As such questioning, their founder is seen as a borderline heresy by some in the inner circle. Also, the brotherhood has a few religious missions that try to spread this idea in areas that they have control over.
-Norms: Most people follow their current lifestyles in whatever country they currently live in with some adjustments due to Unitarian Propaganda creating a sense of equality and commonality amongst its members. As such many have taken to referencing each other as brothers and sisters as they consider each other a part of a grand family united in common cause. Amongst members however is a belief in charity and helping each other as part of a team and most the brotherhood members are part of some kind of teamlike organization either as a part of the military och civilian workforce. However one of the few taboos that exist in the brotherhood is that is not allowed to make art in the likeness of man, pictures are acceptable since they have a purpose, but statues of people are considered immoral idolatry.
-Society: Unitarian society is relatively free as they try to appeal to the general populace. As such most people feel relatively comfortable with their lives, however there is a certain lack of spare time among the general population as they are expected to train for military service or dedicate themselves in their civilian roles. To raise morale the local leaders usually host public celebrations and competitions in order to both inspire their subjects, but also to train them. These competitions can be to see who can build something, or an art competition or for the military a sharpshooting
-View of Neighbors: The brotherhood has the view that any people not part of them are misguided and need to be helped and taught the skills needed to oppose the superpowers.
-View of Inhabitants: The brotherhood has a paradoxical view of people. They truly believe that they can create a perfect world in which everyone can be free. However they also believe that people are resources and sometimes sacrifices need to be made in order to further the cause. As such they invest resources into the community while also ready to use them as cannon fodder.
Borders?(What borders define your country?: Currently has gained control of Somalia and parts of Ethiopia and Eritrea

Population: 10 million.

Name of State?: Mutual Development Federation
History:
After World War II cracked open the case against colonialism, a wave of independence movements took hold in many nations across insular South East Asia. Countries seceded from the Powers that Be and celebrated vigorously. However, the War also so the rise of massive powers with a thirst for blood. Having had a headstart as an independent nation, the Philippines proposed a union with Indonesia and Malaysia to defend each other should either power come to inflict their influence on them. With Singapore also joining in, the Treaty of Jakarta was signed in 1956, forming the MDF. Addendums including new members would quickly appear as more and more of the islands deciding to join, many leaving their protectorate status.
Flag, Symbols, Etc.:
Image
The flag is fairly simple in its design. A large swath of blue represents both the sea that has provided for these territories for generations and the limitless sky above it, both almost indistinguishable from each other. The bottom stripe of green is smaller, representing the comparatively limited land available, but it is pleasant and fertile, and can provide for all regardless. The red star almost requires no explanation. The true power of the Federation comes from labor, instead of exploitation. Finally, the dome protects the nations within from those who seek to oppress and subjugate them.
State emblems are either a vertical oval cut of the flag or just the star and dome.
Population: 450 Million
Language: English as the working language, with the sum of every member state's official languages also recognized.
Government:
-Type of government: Supranational Union, economic and political (socialist).
-Most Important Ministries:
-Ministry of Labor and Finance - Ensures the well-being of the combined workforce and that they can quickly pivot and transition to meet the ever-changing needs of the block.
-Ministry of Trade and Foreign Affairs - Monitors and maintains the Federation's ties with other nations when it comes to trade agreements and political alliance.
-Ministry of Defense - As the saying goes, speak softly and carry a big stick. When negotiations fall apart or a threat appears, they ensure the military forces of all member states work in perfect coordination to protect the block.
-Ministry of Culture - With an incredibly rich history spanning millenia, dozens of languages, traditions and beliefs, they preserve the cultural differences of the population, while maintaining a sense of cooperation.
-Head of State: Elected as Chairman from an STV-elected council majority of SEAS party members is Edward Patch, a young man from Manila with great pride for the Federation and contagious positivity that promises great progress now that the Cold War is coming to a close.
-Head of Government: See above.
-Special Agencies: Under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs operates what is known as the Liberation Corps. Their task is to provide aid to the suffering working class of other nations, not just by delivering supplies, but by intervening locally to ensure the aid gets where it needs to be, whether the local governments like it or not. A well-fed and educated working class is much more capable of resisting oppression.
Military:
-Army: 750,000 combat troops
-Navy: 2,250,000 combat troops
-Airforce: 1,500,000 combat troops
-Special Forces: A quick response task force exists to bet put directly under Federation executive command in an emergency. Peacekeeping forces are also deployed on occasion as a sign of international good will.
Culture:
-Religion: There is no official religion of the MDF and none is sponsored or tax-exempted. However, a myriad of religions and belief systems exist all over the Federation, and their practice is free as long as they do not infringe on human rights. Freedom of religion is also freedom from religion.
-Norms: Each culture within the MDF has its own social norms, but none are enforced by the state as a condition for joining the MDF.
-Society: Most people have strong local affiliations within their city, state or island, leading to plenty of community-led programs for socializing, sports and entertainment, allowing for each corner of the Federation to maintain its identity. Frequent transportation between the scattered island and flow of information also encourages a sense of belonging to the greater union. While most locales are self-sustaining, their excess production is traded for "luxury" goods, allowing them to focus on the work they are skilled at, while larger hubs of the region focus on indsutrializing.
-View of Neighbors: While amicable towards other members of the Federation, the citizens who choose to bother with the affairs of other nations tend to be distrustful of big powers, always suspecting that they would come to crush their way of life. Smaller nations, especially those that survived occupation, tend to get the sympathy of most citizens and the Federation alike. New members are often welcomed with open arms.
-View of Inhabitants: With so many religions coexisting in close proximity, some tensions do occasionally arise. Per MDF directives, member states do their best to maintain the peace. That aside, friendly rivalries occasionally crop up between islands and members, but those are more often than not relegated to sporting events.
Borders?: The MDF encompasses the modern countries of Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Fiji and all other islands of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia not administered New Zealand or the United States.
Color?: Light green or orange.

Application
Name of State? Kingdom of Castille
History: The roots of this nation were formed in 1094, with the formation of the Iberian League. This loose confederation was an early attempt at uniting the monarchies of Spain. By 1231, The confederation was officially dissolved, although it had been de facto non-existent for decades. The Kingdoms of Porto, Navarre, Granada and Aragon, along with the Duchy of Ibiza, coexisted mostly peacefully for centuries, until 1496. The Iberian peninsula split into two factions: the Porto led United Iberia, and the Granada led Sovereigns Alliance. These factions had a cold war for two decades, before the death of King Marasi of Navarre. He died in 1515, and his heir believed his death to be an assassination, carried out by SA operatives. He immediately declared war on Castille, which snowballed into all-out war between the factions. This lasted on and off for 11 years, after which the Treaty of Ibiza was signed. The war was a comprehensive SA victory, and led to major territorial changes in Iberia. Castille would annex northern Murcia, while Granada would take the south. Ibiza would get Murcian held Islá Depraña, while Navarre would be entirely annexed by Castille. This "New Iberian Order" ruled for another two centuries, until Queen Noñita came to power in Castille. She was a fierce nationalist, and believed Castillaña (Castillan people) were superior to others. Under her, Castille conquered the entirety of IRL Spain, excluding Ibiza. In 1764, Porto underwent a democratic revolution, and was renamed to Portugal. Castille continued, putting down the odd rebellion every once in a while. The formation of the Tangier Territory in 1799 was Castille's only colonial posession, although even this was elevated to become a core part of Castille just eight years later. In 1970 a territorial dispute with Portugal led to a war. This was the first war in centuries for Castille, which did not prevent a comfortable victory. Come 1989, Castille will want to expand its influence on the world stage...
Flag, Symbols, Etc.: The flag is fully white, with a yellow and red star in the centre. This star is the major symbol of Castille, with red symbolising nationalism, and yellow symbolising the House of Oñana, and generally the monarchy as a whole.
Population? 32,000,000
Language: The official language is Castillan, which is basically pseudo-Spanish.
Government: The government is an absolute monarchy, where everything is under the direct control of the King/Queen. The Monarch appoints nine Ministers to the High Council, which runs the nation. The Monarch can overrule the Council, and can dismiss Ministers at will.
-Type of government: Absolute Monarchy
-Most Important Ministries: Ministry of the People (services (police etc.))
Ministry of Resources (water, electricity, metals etc.)
-Head of State: the Monarch, currently King Mikael.
-Head of Government: the Presdent of the Council, currently José Larçóné
-Special Agencies:
The Castillan Security Committee: This is the special police. Highly trained, they carry out assassinations and operations inside Castille.
Foreign Defense Committee: Same as above, but foreign.
Military(What does your country’s military look like? How big? Special Forces?):
-Army: 120,000 standing, 500,000 reserves
-Navy:
-Airforce:
-Special Forces: The special agencies mentioned above are estimated to have a total of 25,000 people, but this number may be inaccurate due to their secrecy.
Culture
-Religion? The Kingdom of Castille practices state atheism. Atheism is the majority religious group in Castille, with 58% of the population either atheist or agnostic. The other major religion is Christianity, with 37% of the population. In Christianity, Catholicism dominates, with 98% of Christians being Catholic. The other 5% is minority religions such as Islam.
-Norms? A normal day in Castille is similar to our day. At around 8-9:00am work begins, in whatever job you work in. Working hours must not be longer than 10 hours per day without overtime, and cannot start earlier than 7:00. There are exemptions to these rules, for instance in the military or medical. Women wear bright and colourful clothes, while men wear relatively plain clothing.
-Society? There are very strict, military style hierarchies in most jobs and bureaus. If you step out of line in this regard, you can be immediately fired, and it is difficult to appeal these types of firings.
-View of Neighbors? Castillaña are generally mildly xenophobic. Most people want Castille for Castillaña, but if a foreigner moves in they won't harass/pursue them. A small minority are extremely xenophobic, and are known to commit various crimes on foreigners, escalating to murder in some cases.
-View of Inhabitants? Everyone is allowed freedom of movement inside Castille, but it is hard for a Castillan citizen to get out. Any citizen of Castille must apply for a permit to leave the country, and it typically takes 3-4 weeks for the permits to be processed.
Borders?: All of IRL Spain and Portugal, except for Ibiza and Catalonia.

Since I did tell a few people involved in this RP on their RMB, I will inform the rest on this OOC:

The IC will be created in the next 2 to 3 days as of Tuesday, due to me having the adequate free time in between to get an idea and craft up the OP, as well as to let others create their apps as well as to give them some time to ready as well. The apps will be open till possibly 1 week after the IC is made, which then the RP will be semi-closed to entry.

Name of State?: Pacific States of America (aka Pacifica)
History: While the North American Technate took control over almost all of Canada and the US, the remnants of the US government fled to the West Coast, where they formed a new government in Los Angeles. The new country was dubbed the "Pacific States of America" or simply Pacifica. Having control most of the Western US and its Pacific territories, it soon incorporated Baja California, Baja California Sur, British Columbia and Yukon. The Pacifican government modeled itself after the old US government, albeit having three major parties instead of two. While it tries to maintain relations with its Pacific neighbors, Pacifica seeks to recover all of the US from the Technate, but since the latter is a lot larger and even stronger, Pacifica seeks to strengthen itself in order to overcome the obstacles surrounding its neighbor on the other side of the Rockies.
Flag, Symbols, Etc.: The stars on the national flag represents Pacifica's constituent territories. Twelve of the stars represents the constituent states (North California, South California, Oregon, Washington, Lincoln, Idaho, Deseret, Yukolumbia, Melorado, Nevada, Alaska and Hawaii), while the 13th star in the middle represents Los Angeles (national capital).
Population?: ~72,000,000
Language: English is the dominant language in Pacifica.
Government: Pacifica operates similarly to that of the old US (President, Congress, Supreme Court, etc), albeit there are three major parties instead of just two. These parties are the right-wing Democrats, the centrist Republicans and the left-wing Progressives.
-Type of government?: Federal presidential constitutional republic
-Most Important Ministries: Defense, Justice, State, Agriculture, Education, Treasury, Interior, Commerce, Labor and Energy.
-Head of State?: President Ronald Reagan (R)
-Head of Government?: Same as above
-Special Agencies: CIA, FBI, EPA, DEA, NSA, NASA, etc.
Military: The Pacifican military is still trying to model itself after the old US military. Both national and state components are kept with the inclusion of the Pacific States National Guard and various state defense forces (including naval militias). The military-industrial complex plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and production of military equipment.
-Army: 1,500,000 (600,000 actives and 900,000 reserves)
-Navy: 545,000 (235,000 actives and 310,000 reserves)
-Air Force: 65,000 (25,000 actives and 40,000 reserves)
-Special Forces: Other units include Pacific States Marine Corps and Pacific States Coast Guard, while notable special forces include Delta Force, Green Berets, Army Rangers and Navy SEALs.
Culture: The Pacifican culture is modeled after that of the old US, with some cultural characteristics native to some US states, as well as South California (Baja California and Baja California Sur) and Yukolumbia (British Columbia and Yukon). Unlike the Technate, the Pacifican culture is less influenced by government policies.
-Religion?: Pacifica is secular, although Christianity is the largest of all religions within its borders. Other religions include Judaism, Buddhism, Shinto, Scientology, Mormonism and various Native American beliefs, as well as atheism.
-Norms?: Pacificans dress and behave similarly to those of the old US, albeit it is the late 1980s (which means the inclusion of 1980s fashion, music, cinema and games). Corporations are still influential and old American values are highly regarded with respect, although liberal views are becoming more common than conservative ones.
-Society?: Built upon the traditions and values of the old US, Pacifica tries to stay true to its predecessor at any cost.
-View of Neighbors?: Pacificans are very hostile towards the neighboring Technate, but have some warm relations with various Pacific states and some European ones. Relations with Mexico are cold due to the Pacifican annexation of both Baja California and Baja California Sur. Some Pacificans also hold anti-immigrant views.
-View of Inhabitants?: Being similar to the old US, Pacifica is socially, culturally, religiously and ideologically diverse. Social classes still exist, but racial segregation and other questionable institutions are almost gone. Relations between Pacifican citizens varies. The older generations remain conservative, while the younger generations are becoming more liberal and progressive.
Borders?: USA (west of Rockies) + British Columbia, Yukon, Baja California and Baja California Sur
Color?: Navy blue

Name of State?: Les Republiques des Gaulois/ The Republics of the Gauls
History: L'Parti d'Libertie/LPDL, founded in 1791 a few years after the First Revolution was first but a small group of revolutionaries and vagrants within complex web that was that time. In the beginning the operations were simple as to provide moral and when possible material support to the growing flames that laid outside Paris, and with a few years they would establish a small base with the city of Orleans, dubbing it "L'Repos de Joan"/Joan's Rest in honor of France's first hero. The next near decade would be eventful for the fledging movement, the Parti itself would be split into two camps the Vrai Bleu and the Vrai Rouge, the former believing in the principles of the Revolution but asserting that the slaughter of nobles would only damn the Revolution to failure. That through Enlightenment the realms of the Aristocracy and the Commons can be melded to achieve greater synthesis.

The Vrai Rouge would hold a different philosophy that it was not the crime of the people to slaughter their oppressors, but to have only been selective.
They hold that true Revolution can only come when all is faced in both beauty and ugliness.

This split had first occurred when L'Parti had been founded the ideas and opinions of the idealistic revolutionaries and the pragmatic vagrants near constantly struggled to find cohesion and synthesis. It was only in the flames of the First Revolution that the party maintained some solidarity, the streets and towns of many cities serving as the training fields for both their rhetoric and physicality. At this time a young officer and member of L'Parti, Antoine Bricoleur would gain some fame in 1794 he would be spotted in front of column at the Battle of Fleurus charging towards the enemy. Despite being fired upon he would survive and with only few wounds to the arm and thigh but would still fight throughout the battle, earning him much fame among the Parti.

Throughout the rest of the Revolution and subsequent Ascendency of Napoleon, L'Parti would seek to legitimize it's position, meeting again within Orleans in 1799 to draft La Charte de L'Homme et des Citoyens/ The Charter of Man and the Citizens. It would be key in both drafting down the goals of the Revolution broadly, but also in seeking to achieve balance between the two rival groups within L'Parti. The Charter would hold that Liberte, Egalite, and Fraternite were enshrined to all and is as universal as the Voice and Creed of any and all Kings or Gods, that to merely speak and to act is to exercise these great freedoms and as such no force from this earth may have the ability to try and dictate these freedoms and how they are used, but only to counsel how they can be used, but when they have been granted consent from those they seek to counsel.

When those words it was a dream of few in wonder of how or could they even be achieved, but within this time and year of 1989, 200yrs after L'Parti still exist and more than that has grown, so in this that dream was achieved. [Hit a wall will fill in later]

The House Bleu meant to represent the Legislative power of the nation, it has the abilities to print money as well as review the budget of both any of the three houses as well as subordinate branches, it has the ability to pass legislation creating or ending any laws or policies with an added ability to review any law and revise any should it be deemed needed and/or appropriate after a grace period of at most 3yrs.

Lastly is the House Rouge, which is meant to represent Domestic Power of the nation. It has the ability of general policing and law enforcement on both a National and Regional level, It also host the National Court with the ability to establish agencies (with consent) within the civilian sector to aid in general administration, maintenance, and peace keeping.

Along with the Three Houses are subordinate branches and agencies such as the Departement des Revenues which overseas and manages the transfer of capital among both the government and general populace.

-Society? - The Goal of Modern Gaulish society is to both grow and prosper, achieving glory without having to slide into poisons of Imperialism or Extremism. The experiences since the First Revolution and beyond has shaped the L'Parti and as such the peoples, horrors brought on by the Trenches as well as near occupation have left both a fire and fear both internally and externally. It's harder now for the peoples to look at it's neighbors without some suspicion, and even within at itself and its peoples. L'Parti though and Les Citoyans have existed for many decades though and each new event is as both and experience and a lesson, from a small home with Orleans to nearly having the Old Borders of Gaul, the parti is content because the people are themselves. Now the only goal is to endure both in material and in legacy so the dream of France et Gaul can live forever.

Name of State?: Democratic Federation of the Caribbean
History: As the British Empire began to destabilize following the end of WW2, the people of the British West Indies, like other British colonies, began to seek complete self governance and determination. The British at first objected to this, but seeing as their control was diminishing, the eventually gave the West Indies Dominion status in 1952. In 1957, however, many had been fond of the idea of a republic completely separate from the British. People protested in favor of this, and eventually, the Parliament passed a bill that would make the Indies a republic. Once this was approved by both the Indies and the British, the Dominion of the West Indies became the Republic of the West Indies. In 1958, the Cuban Revolution was beginning to take place, and the West Indies got involved militarily in favor of Bautista and against Castro. With West Indian intervention, the Castro-led Cuban socialists were defeated, and relations with Cuba grew closer. In 1962, the Republic of the West Indies held independence referendums for Belize and Guyana, who both voted to leave the Republic. However, with Cuba's transition to a democratic government, the began to negotiate with the West Indies about unification in 1966. At this point, relations with Cuba were excellent, businesses from both nations had invested in each of the two of them, and the two nations had already been working together to improve and rebuild their infrastructure. Negotiations continued until 1968, and they tow had agreed to unify, integrating the two governments into one and forming the Democratic Federation of the Caribbean.
