It'd been a rather long rough trip for the Kujo sisters of Katase. Two of Katase's Princesses, only outranked by their elder brother and sister-in-law, they were twins, close as can be, well they were rather close but as 14 dawned on them, the traditional age of adulthood (though mostly practiced among Katase's nobility than most citizens who go with de facto 18). A long rough, storm tossed voyage over the seas and the trip inward to the palace, which was probably the easiest part. A couple of loyal guards in tow "Yuki!" Momiji scolded her sister to hurry up. "Stop looking at your phone and get a move on!"
Believe it or not, mobile phones were becoming a new luxury in the nation. You see Katase at this time lacked a traditional income tax and instead levied tariffs and taxes on goods on items such as games, electronics, and other luxury goods. Imported goods were especially pricey for that so most just didn't have means or access. Not a supremely wealthy nation but not dirt poor and there were those with really high wealth that could afford anything.
"Momo, right coming!" Yukiko tucked the phone into the pocket of her kimono as they were ushered along to a car that would drive them to the celebration. Momo was of course Yukiko's nickname for Momiji.
"Honestly who cares what a bunch of rando strangers on some stupid website have to say?" Momiji griped at Yuki's newfound interest in
social media. "Bet'cha nobody's even replied because who really believe you're a Princess with no proof to show for it?"
"Well even if they don't, it's nice to talk with others from all over the place. See what others have to say about anything."
"Pah!" Momiji scoffed. Well truth was Momji cared but only because she was jealous. She wanted to keep her sister as her close confidant and best friend, not have to share her with complete strangers. Thankfully with the rush and late morning, they made it on time.
"Miladies," Their guard Sayako Ando spoke. "The gifts you will be presenting, we have them. We'll be in your tow."
"Thank you." They both said in uniosn. Twins indeed although not identical twins. Arriving in the gala, it was clear they were a little late but probably not too badly. "Gee I don't know anyone here." Yuki mumbled
"Of course you don't. I don't either, Katase barely knows anyone, that's why we're here!"
"Okay Momo, no need to bite my head off!"
"Ugh sorry, forget it, I'm just tired and irritable from the trip. Don't worry, we'll figure things out as we go, we're two young Princesses I don't think anyone will worry too much about our lack of foreign affairs knowledge so long as we maintain our decorum."
"So smart, Momo." Yuki giggled a bit, patting her sister's shoulder.
"Just everything big bro and mom taught us, it's not that big of deal. Well come on, let's see if we can go mingle with some folks."
She pulled her sister along gently to fanout, meet the guests of honor hopefully or others on the floor who they could become better acquainted with.
