Birkaine wrote:"Seems this is all we will be getting for now. No reinforcements from the mainland" Natasha informed Falabi "Although it seems our armor was pretty effective aganist their troops. A single of our tanks probably racked up more kills than your entire so-called revolutionary jihadist "army"" She said, standing in front of all the officers, ignoring the burning gazes. "And that was just a Merkava. From now on HQ authorized me to deploy the newest IT-3 tanks, which will prove far more survivable to us and deadly to them. The old T-64s will provide artillery support, that's the only thing they're good at. I also managed to secure some Buratino tanks for our use. Our mortars are not nearly enough."
She kept lecturing them about the tactics they would use in their next offensive to the city. A few more vehicles had been brought with them, including a group of Volcano minelayer vehicles and a radar vehicle, as well as many portable rocket launchers.

"Who's this?" One of the officers whispered to another
"Some bitch the Birkanians sent us. Says she's in charge of logistical support" The other one replied
"If she is, she should go back to handlin crates"

"It would have been nice to die in an air attack" The colonel noted. "Although not here, I was expecting to die in a sunnier place"

"Well, Colonel, you're here now. If you're lucky, you might die during one of the next attacks. If not, well, at least you will be sent back to god know's where you came from." Seraph said, nearing the Praetorian lines, who obviously stop him and ask who the hell this guy is, "What's your name, Colonel?" Seraph asks expectantly as Wisp leaves to speak to the Clarke. "We need more information on them, assemble Shadow Platoon (Spec Ops) and have them leave to the airfield next chance they get. Have them bring C4 with them if necessary. Also we are expecting a full complement of gear within the next 24 hours, complete with MBT's, IFV's, Heavy Air Support (including Assault Helicopters) and heavier artillery then these metal tubes over there." Clarke motions at the Artillery that saved their skin just a few hours ago.

Wisp goes back the Seraph, who still hasn't got an answer from the Colonel, and informs Seraph of what he heard (whispered it, so the Colonel can't hear it) Seraph says, "Perhaps we should scout ahead again..."

OOC: Based on Technological comparisons, what would be the real-world comparison between an IT-3 and a real world MBT? To tell my side, an average Federation MBT is a cross between a Challenger 2, Leopard 2, and M1A2 Abrams.

OOC: Probably a Black Eagle or a T-95 MBT, with some Tunguska AA tank thrown in. 125mm smoothbore gun with ATGM launching capabilities, ARENA self-defense system, multi-layer ERA armor, CROWS and coaxial BRG-15, unmanned turret, tungsten grapeshot shells, WP anti-IR smoke grenades, hardening aganist air attacks, protective engine placement, external fuel reserves and a small J-band radar to detect and destroy incoming ATGMs.
here's a pic.

"Colonel Vladimir Zhtakov is all I can say to you" The colonel replied to the question.

The airfield was now basically under Birkanian control, as air defence systems and soldiers started to be unloaded from aircraft. While most of the Birkanian Army was consctripted, a few volunteer divisions known as Shock Armies made up the elite forces of the Birkanians. Elements of the 2nd Shock Army were beggining to harden the airfield aganist attack with the help of the local islamic forces, placing Spike ATGMs and HMGs in several strategic spots, as well as some SAM tanks and a radar.
The runway was being expanded to handle bigger craft, like the An-124s frequently used by the Birkanian Air Force and even some fighters, although only the three Frogfoot attackers were ready for the time being. Eight 2A65 howitzers were also brought in and began to be placed in a firebase under construction, as well as a gigantic 2P 406mm piece. Smaller Buratino rocket tanks littered the airfield, along with Birkanian officers and soldiers that were in the process of teaching the jihadists advanced combat techniques.

"Well, well, it seems that the Praetorians will kindly repay your sacrifice with their own blood" Natasha said as a single BM-30 rocket artillery vehicle rolled out of an An-70 "But we certainly need to prepare ourselves quicker. What worries me the most at this moment is enemy air power. We have nearly no SAMs except for the crap that calles itself Mistral"

"My men are doing the best they can" Falabi answered "And yours too. New recruits have sprung up all over the region. They have witnessed our spiritual strenght, and know our enemmies are weak!"

"Well congratulations, Falabi. A few new contingents of poorly trained civilians is just what we need to turn the tide of this war" Natasha replied, putting on aviator glasses "Tell them to get ready, and establish camps in the jungle. At least like that we'll have some sentinels"

OOC: I didn't know at this time they found out what they were dealing with.

"I approve of this order." Jeremiah said as Seraph and Wisp begin their trek to the location of the Airfield. "I want those Heavy Artillery emplacements... Here." Jeremiah began, pointing to various locations of the Praetorian camp. Assault Helicopters fly overhead as roughly 60 "Paladin" MBT's arrive on shore, accompanied by MLRS Systems (they have a different name, but I can't come up with one.)

"Why do we need these?" Clarke says as ten MTHEL's are unloaded to the camp, confused as to why they will need Anti-Missile defenses. He shrugged it off and allowed it anyway, placing them around high priority targets. The MBT's are placed in strategic, hidden "ambush" positions while the MLRS rockets are fueled and ready at a moments notice. As the final touch on a classic Praetorian Base, a ring of advanced SAM's are put around the base, accompanied by a powerful "Omniscient" Grade Radar system. Snipers being posted as sentries in a ring formation 1 mile away.

(Due to the length of this, it can be assumed they also placed LAW 95 and HMG Nests around the base at strategic positions.)

Would you like a description of the Paladin?

here's a pic.

120mm Rifled barrel, capable of firing Depleted Uranium rounds, HEAT Rounds, a Tungsten "Dart" shot (much more accurate and longer range then grapeshot, although it doesn't have the same level of spread and thus, short range killing power.) Due to this wide range of ammo, they don't find the need for ATGM launching capabilities, although the Paladin can certainly be modified to use it. It utilizes an unmanned, remote control heavy turret, but if that fails it can be used manually. It has a coaxial machine gun that was taken from the Reaper Assault Helicopter and converted for tank use. It has multi-layer Electric Reactive Armor (Real-World technology, but as of yet untested in battle.) Underneath that reactive is sloped Chobham Armor. It has White Phosphorous based anti-Infrared smoke grenades, an internal high performance diesel engine, hardening against air attacks, and an experimental micro-MTHEL designed to shoot down enemy missiles (it's charge, however, only allows twenty shots before needing to be recharged.)

The Paladin, however, is extremely complex, and thus can only be operated by Praetorian Tank Crews, this complexity has also made it difficult for the average repair crew to fix it, requiring specially trained crews. This, however, can be an advantage, meaning it is impossible for enemy armies to use the Paladin against them, as they are also being manned by the Elite Tank Crews of the Federation.

Another formation of An-70s and IL-76s landed on the growing airfield. The soldiers, tanks and vehicles that poured out were carefully directed to several depots scattered around the airfield by the engineers. A new compliment of Tunguska M1 and SA-15 AA tanks arrived at the airfield to provide protection. Apart from the new tanks, ten Racketpanzer III missile tanks of Belkalandian origin were brought to the battlefield.

Natasha was standing in front of a projector in a dark room in the HQ building, in the middle of a videoconference with the leader of the Birkanian Army, an old general by the name of Dimitri Stetsko, who broadcasted from a distant base in the Birkanian mainland.

<<It seems that your operation is just snowballing out of control! Bringing the IT-3s was already a controversial deciscion, but now you're using Belkalandian weaponry? I think you might be overstepping your boundaries, Lieutenant Colonel>> Stesko said
"Colonel Zhtakov is MIA, so I'm now in command of this operation. I may use all the resources I need" She replied in her usual insolent tone.
<<Don't speak to me that way!>> Stetsko was the one who put Natasha back on her place <<Unlike you savages who can't see a hour neyond your faces, I look at the bigger picture. This is all an investment. The jihadists will owe us a favor, and they will pay us with their resources and markets. But there's no point to that if the war is so expensive! If you fail and waste Birkaine's money, you'll find yourself in front of the firing squad!>> He concluded in his severe tone. <<Enjoy your stay. I'm sending another officer to take control of the operations. Preferably one that does not need half the Birkanian Army to succeed>>
Thus concluded the transmission. The footage from the camera was gone, and a Birkanian seal occupied its place. Natasha couldn't do much apart from frustratingly accepting that General Stetsko was the authority and she could do nothing about it. She walked outside inspected the new tanks and sat down atop one of the rocket artillery vehicles.

"Any word from the Birkanians?" Falabi asked. Seeing Natasha in a bad mood pleased him.
"Yes, they denied access to the Navy. The carriers aren't coming" She replied "Command says I'm spending too much resources"
They could hear the asr salah of the islamic soldiers trough loudspeakers in the background, as they grouped up next to a preacher. The Birkanians were resting while the rest prayed, and some arabic Birkanians joined the prayers. They seemed to be mostly burying and praising the martyrs.
"Taking in account you're supposed to lead us into victory, you surely don't know how to do something with just a few resources" Falabi noted "That's what I've doing for years. Look at where we are now! Countless volunteers and a whole cause! And I had never possesed a missile tank or plane under my command. Seems it's not going to be you who teaches me how to fight, but the other way around"
Natasha sighed, and put her glasses in her pocket
"I guess. I'm getting replaced, so I don't think I'll learn much" She lamented. "Though if we manage to impress them, they might allow me to stay... We're not losing again that's for sure. I got almost everything I need to fight wars as I've been taught. And you?"
Falabi laughed at her
"I've had it since the beggining. Faith."

ooc: sorry folks, was tired so left. but back. Augmark feel free to take control of the Fascists also.
And so far guys I'm liking what you;'ve written.

Ic:

The Cordoba Conference ended prematurely it seemed, various delegates were still there discussing Alyxandreta, the General & the Prince both returned without parliament, it was clear these two men were here and in charger.

"Regarding Ms. Draskovic's proposal, ma'am I am a Republican, I always have been and I do not wish the restoration of the throne, all other parts of your offer I will comply with but my father fought for this country only for the bourgeoisie Royals to take it for granted, I cannot allow a return to those days" General Bekha spoke, it was clear where the battle lines were drawn at this conference, was it only himself who did not wish the throne to be restored?

Augmark peacekeepers were now in control of several sectors of the city, bogged down by Fascist troops, in the west of the country, communist support and influence was growing steadily,. that region was quickly becoming unwinnable, Bekhaera was leaning towards the Allied forces but just, with little form of peacekeeping forces many sides were able to recruit forces there, the province of Alban was now under Allied command, many other citites and ststes were in the control of Alliance forces but it seemed the country would end up split between four factions

The Communists
The Fascists
The Islamic Extremists
The Allied Forces

They sat in a bunker, hidden in the north of the country amongst the ethnic Khan & Drakian peoples whom many converted to Christianity, the message read simply

"To our brothers in the Al-Saladin,we Christians offer you an alliance. A chance to spread our faiths across this nation and seize control from a pagan world. We begin to strike tomorrow at dawn, the cities we take shall serve as a reminder that those with God on their side ALWAYS prevail."

That was the message, simple and effective. The Christian factions seemed to have gone unnoticed, save for the attacks on Juneau & Treno a few days ago, but they weren't the big players in the country, despite having overwhelming numbers.

While the Praetorians continue to bring in new hardware and fortify their position, Seraph and Wisp start heading out in the direction of the Airfield, Shadow Platoon not far behind them (this is at night) Shadow Platoon consists of some of the more stealthy, CQB oriented members of the Praetorian Division which was assigned at Alyxandreta, and they were equipped for any engagement, three of them carrying the far more advanced "Firestorm" Anti-Tank Rifle (Fires HEAT Rounds, also can use Depleted Uranium Ammo) and two carrying a portable "Osiris" Missile Launcher system (The Osiris is commonly used by advanced SAM and Fighter systems, using a wide spectrum target recognition system, including a .) The rest are either carrying Devastators, two Ravager HMG's, Scythe LMG's, and a couple sniper rifles.

- Citadel Command -

"THEY DID WHAT?!" General Roland S. Essex said, slamming his hand on his desk, "They left our troops to the wolves? We'll see about that. I want our boys on their way home in the next 24 hours." The Officer relaying the information says, "But sir, we have an agreement with the Alyxandret-." Roland interrupts him, "You realize, Captain, that our agreement was to aid in the defense and destruction of the rebel faction, not fight their war for them? We shouldn't even be over there in the first place, hell, we only sent them to try out some of our new equipment and tactics! We'll give weapons, vehicles, ammo, supplies of every kind to the Alyxandretan government! But we will NOT, give them our blood, sweat, tears, and men."

Gen. Essex stamps the CMB insignia on the order, and the timer starts.

OOC: Also, updated the Paladin information to include stats.

Mohammad Al-Sariei stepped down from the ferry. Sporting traditional Muslim garbs, an extensive knowledge of the Qur'an and highly fluent in Arabic (as he was himself a moderate Muslim), Mohammad would fit in well with the population of Sinapurum. However, Mohammad was not interested in joining the Jihad. His mission was to find out the goals of the organization for after their victory. As an Islamic Anarchist, he believed democracy and even Radical Islam could work hand and hand. However, he needed to be sure that this is what Sinapurum's future was. And not a Moralistic Dictatorship. He clenched his fist at the idea. Then, walking into a local Hookah bar, Mohammad sat down and waited for his contact to arrive. He was a few minutes early.

Sofia Dabushkavi stepped off the plane and, with her legs still unstable for sitting for 15-or-so hours, she lit up a cigarette and caught a cab. Her mission here was simple, but delicate: Find the remaining members of the Communists and tell them that her government, the Northern Baltic, can support them. Sofia smiled and said to herself, "As long as they're actual Communists you know." Stepping out of the cab, she was dropped off at a rather dreary looking pub, but through many internet conversations, mixed in with IP tracking, this served as a cell, or so she was told, for a group of local Communists. Picking up her cellphone, she called the number she was instructed to, instead of knocking. Hopefully everything would go as planned.

The news came fast and furious down the Grapevine, the forced withdrawal of Alyxandretan troops from Sinapurum had enraged the Praetorians who now prepared to withdraw. Interim government had originally withdrawn their men due to threats but now were determined not to bow down to demands anymore.

Please were made, blood was offered, this was a war that needed the Praetorians.

"2000 Alyxandretan Marines, the elite, The Leonidas Corps have been dispatched to Sinapurum with the clear intent of ending the combat there, the city shall be divided by several walls that funnel all enemy operations in the city into the more open sectors thus neutralizing them before they can cause any potent damage, the Leonidas Corps shall be led by General Bekha himself"

It was noon, the general had left the prince in charge of negotiations with allied states. Hew as tired of hearing insults aimed at his army and at his people, now he came to shut mouths and take the war to the terrorists

Jeremiah heard their pleas, then offered an idea, "I have a squad of some of my elite soldiers heading over to the Airfield, it seems to be their base of operations. They have the capacity to paint the area, allowing us to fire at them with everything we've got, including heavy air support. Would you mind us unleashing hell upon that HQ in exchange for the lose of an airfield?" Jeremiah awaits an answer.

OOC: Wouldn't an MTHEL that small be PMT? I mean, the real MTHEL is like the size of a train car, and needs more energy than what a normal tank engine can put out. Also, what would be the distance between our HQs?

When the Shadow Platoon and the sniper team finally arrive at the outer perimeter of the base, the first they is an armored bulldozer and a dozer blade-equipped T-64 digging up an anti-tank trench around the airfield, aided by a swarm of jihadist soldiers who quickly set up the fortifications and a couple engineers who directed all that. They also saw a watchtower being built a few hundred meters away. For now, all the chaos from the constuction was keeping the attention away from them.

More IL-76s were in the process of landing, now that the runway was equipped with lightning. The Racketpanzers were being loaded up with their missiles, and the rest of the tanks were being fueled up. A couple S-300PMU2 vehicles finally got into the airfield, then the cargo planes stopped arriving, now that it seemed the armored detachment of the base was complete.

"Well, all the preparations are complete" Natasha said when the last An-70 landed and unloaded its cargo of rockets.
"Yes. And the christians have asked for out help..." Falabi added
"That's up to you to decide. What did they say"
"They say we should attack in about 24 hours, but after the last time, I'm not fighting in the night again" Falabi said.

Something that did threaten the Praetorian teams, was the fact a few recon UAVs were being prepared for launch.

OOC: Sorry about that, we can assume then it's some sort of electronic countermeasure, similar to the J-Band Radar. Also, what would be the agreeable length of this city? We are, after all, almost a full city length away. I think Extended Range MLRS Missiles could reach the Airfield...

"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" One of the three heavy snipers for Shadow Platoon said, looking through the scope of his M82 "Ripper" Anti-Material Rifle. "They have armor and air out the kazoo, we better warn base of this." Shadow Platoon Leader looks at them and says, "Looks a bit like they have an advantage, boys, look at those UAVs getting ready to take off." He points out the UAV's.

"This gives me an idea, you have these Anti-Material Rifles, right? Fire at the dome of the UAV's in synch when there is a loud enough noise due to construction." The Heavy Snipers aim at their respective UAV's, and wait for a loud noise to occur to fire at the more delicate parts of a UAV.

Seraph and Wisp know their mission, paint the airfield with a laser designator to bring down missiles and shells from the air, land, Helicopters, MLRS, Attack Planes, whatever is available. They start their way closer to the base, making extremely damn sure they don't get seen.

OOC: Ok then, but let's avoid us anihilating each other BVR. As for the tank, it must be some kind of jammer then.

The tank and the dozer reversed at the same time, their engines making an incredible ammount of noise. The moment was used by the snipers to shoot at the UAVs, the high-caliber rounds literally taring off the sensor modules off the small RQ-5s before they could take off. The soldiers that were the closest to them didn't hear the gunshot

However, the ground operators of the UAVs saw how their screens suddenly went blank.
"What the... the datalink is gone, check the birds" One of the pilot said
"Erm.... my datalink is gone too. Are we registering jamming? Command, any ECM noise?" The other noted too
<<This is command>> An operator on the rudimentary control tower replied <<Negative, no ECM detected. Why's that?>>
"We can't control the birds, the datalink is gone. I repeat, the datalink is gone. Somebody send the technicians to check the UAVs out"

The engineers that went on to check the UAVs saw the extensive damage
<<This is engineering. The UAVs are wasted! The sensor modules have been shot.>> One of them reported to the command. falabi and Natasha heard this
"Our UAVs have been shot on the ground!?" Falabi shouted "Are they that close or was it some missed shot from our guys?"
<<Negative, all the UAVs have been hit. We've got enemy snipers somewhere>> The engineer shouted, before looking for cover.
"Scout teams!" Natasha shouted "Get the base on high alert! Get all the soldiers up!" She grabbed a loudspeaker
<<We are under attack! This is not a drill!>>

The sirens on the base immediately started to blare, as both Birkanian and islamic soldiers rushed to their vehicles. All the flood lights were suddenly turned on and they started to scan the forests. The long-range radars were also brought online, in case the scout teams had air support.

"Let's strike some terror into their hearts." The Platoon Commander said, ordering his men to use their suppressors to fire at the flood lights (Suppressors also hide muzzle flashes, right?) The rest of the men begin to clear out, specifically attempting to hide in the direction of the civilian workers, since the soldiers wouldn't assume they would hide there. As they head over, they set some claymores in positions they clearly were in, so that if any soldier got too close they would have a fun little surprise waiting for them. "Alright, it's the control tower next." The Platoon Commander says, noting it is probably their primary means of calling in transports, directing Anti-Air, and the like. To cover their advance, they launch Flashbang Grenades from their M203's (known as Terror Grenades, since they usually use them to blind their enemies before usually gutting them) at the following locations:

1. Large clusters of soldiers/soldiers in jeeps.
2. The Control Tower (the upper portion where you can look outside.)
3. Any HMG nests in the way of them and the control tower.

As the flashbangs explode, the three Heavy Snipers provide covering fire, shooting at engine blocks of the jeeps, HMG Gunners, and any people apparently trying to run to tanks/anti-air emplacements to man them. As the flashbangs go off, the rest of Shadow Platoon rushes towards the Control Tower (as long as it doesn't involve exiting to a long stretch out in the open.) While running, Shadow Leader informs via radio about the armor and aircraft at the airfield back to Clarke.

Seraph and Wisp notice the chaos going just a few dozen yards away, "Alright Wisp, we need to start taking out their chain of command, they will probably be in that building over there." Seraph points at the Control Tower. He raises and readies his rifle, searching the Tower for any person of apparent high rank to pick off, if not, he starts looking for anyone that seems to know what the hell is going on down at the Airfield.

OOC: What is BVR? Is it when you just decide to glass the area instead of RPing around the area? (What does BVR stand for.)

(NOTE: With obvious exceptions of the Sniper Rifles and Anti-Tank/Air weaponry, all of the other weapons are equipped with suppressors, although the Sniper Rifles don't produce that much of a notable muzzle flash.)

OOC: BVR, beyond visual range. Basically anihilating each other with long-range artillery and missiles without ever meeting ace-to-face. It's lame.

The initial waves failed to reach the enemy soldiers, because the soldiers were blinded and their support gunners sniped. However, the Birkanian soldiers quickly regained cohesion. One of the Tunguska AA tanks led a counterattack, and got between the soldiers and the control tower. Taking aim with the help of its night vision equipment, the tank fired its dual 30mm gatling autocannons at the soldiers trying to assault the control tower, with a devastating firing rate of nearly 4000 rounds per second. The guns had to be fired in controlled bursts. Atop of the control tower, Falabi, Natasha and the rest of the jihadist officers were trying to cover as some snipers went out to provide fire with Dragunov SVDs.

The counterattack was mainly armored, probably because the jihadists were too scared to go into the jungle with the praetorians since last time. Several IT-3 tanks led the way to the estimated position of the praetorians. The anti-personell mines exploded harmlessly underneath their threads, although several squads of jihadists stepped on other mines, blowing themselves to shreds. The tanks kept advancing to flank and surround the praetorians, who would now find themselves between the AA tank and the IT-3s.

5 of the Praetorians were ripped apart by the fire of the AA Gun, "God Dammit, it's either the MBT's or the single AA Gun, Anti-Tank gunners fire at the AA Tank! Also, lay down some mines for the tanks approaching, those Claymores didn't seem to work. You, I have something special for you to do." The Praetorian Commander yelled, pointing at one of the Anti-Tank Gunners. as some soldiers started to lay down Anti-Tank Mines, while two of the Anti-Tank gunners fired their HEAT rounds at the AA Gun, one first to see if it destroys it, then the second if the first fails to penetrate (if the first one knocked out the AA Gun, the second one fired at an IT-3.) "Corporal, I want you to load your gun with a High-Explosive round and fire at that Control Tower, you hear me?" The Corporal rapidly readied his gun and fired at the Control Tower. If the AA Gun was destroyed, half of the Praetorians throw Incendiary Grenades into the dense foliage while the other half throw Chaff Grenades in the direction of the IT-3's, they then have the LMG's fire suppressing fire at the Control Tower and the advancing Tanks while they run to the Control Tower (If the Control Tower top falls off due to the High Explosive Round, then they run to an equally high cost target, the Tanks would think twice before firing at those.) If the AA Gun is not destroyed, they do the same thing, only they run deep into the jungle, using the Chaff and wildfires as cover.

The Heavy Snipers, realizing that the only way to launch a proper armor/air attack would be by surprising them with armor and air, turn their guns on the Radar dishes, antennae, anything that would reveal armor/air approaching or aid in the targeting of said armor/air support via SAMs.

"Something doesn't seem right. Not right at all. Ural, order 30 tanks and two Mobile Artillery pieces to begin an assault on that position, and have them covered by some Helicopters and Fighters, I also want an Electronic Warfare Ship in the air ASAP." With quick efficiency, twenty Paladin Tanks, supported by 6 Reaper Gunships, start to head in the direction of the Airfield, supported by one "Blind Eye" ECM Aircraft, with two Ground Attack Fighters (called Falcons) right behind them.

(It will take three posts for them to get to the Airfield, as in you post, I post, then you post, then I can post they made it. The Artillery Pieces can take the same amount of time, or they can be ready next time I post, your call.)

OOC: Ok, but why chaff grenades? That's so random...

The main battle tanks kept their distance now that they had the Praetorians in the line of fire, and started bombarding them with HE shells and bursts from their coaxial machineguns. The infantry took a detour to one of the flanks to avoid the fires and attacked the praetorians from a distance, still hiding in the jungle. While the jihadists had bad accuracy, their numbers made up for it. They found themselves fired upon by both the tank's BRG-15s, the RPK machineguns and AK-47 rifles. However, the AA tank got hit twice. The first rocket achieved a mobility kill and the second one destroyed its ammo storages.

The munition the praetorians fired hit the control tower and blew up some of the windows along with the side of the wall.
"We've been hit!" Natasha said, amongst the rubble "Where's Falabi?!"
"I'm here!" He replied, tending to a wounded officer
"If they hit us once they'll hit us again. Let's get out of here, we're completely exposed! And get the jets on the air!"
One of the meteorological radar masts fell down from the tower in flames, although the main radome was still quite a distance away from it, across the runway and the hangars. While the surviving officers of the control tower began to get downstairs to try and evacuate the tower, several IFVs came in to replace the fallen AA tank and provide support fire for the officers. The last order given from the control tower was to scrmble the jets.

On the other side of the runway, three Su-25 craft started to rev up their engines, loaded with cluster bombs and ATGMs.

Ten Praetorians are cut down by this heavy barrage of fire, including two of the Anti-Tank gunners, the Heavy Snipers, perched on a hill overwatching the battle, are unaffected, as well as Seraph and Wisp, they are going somewhere else...

"Reinforcements are on their way? Excellent! Alright men, get the hell out of here! We must trick them into thinking this is the only attack we are performing, they may shatter our bodies, but they can't shatter our spirits." The Shadow Platoon Leader yelled, forcing his men to take what is apparently the only safe way out (the only direction not crawling with enemies,) Shadow Platoon Leader orders the Heavy Snipers to divert their attention the the aircraft, aiming for the pilots when they get into their aircraft, or simply blow out the tires, if the pilots aren't immediately visible. He also warns Clarke through the radio about the aircraft, forcing Jeremiah to call in the fastest air superiority fighters they have, where four of them will be on location within minutes (in story time, that is the next post I make.) "They got fast movers, I repeat, they got Fast mo-" The radio is shot, "FUCK! Everyone get going!" He says as a Praetorian next to him is nearly blown in half by an HE round.

The main assault force moves rapidly, getting ever closer, the ECM Plane's jamming influence beginning to move its tendrils into the battle ahead. On the deck of the Ulysses, two Hawk-class Air Superiority fighters revv up their engines and take off, equipped with 4 Anti-Air missiles and one MRL (Multi-Rocket Launcher, hideously inaccurate, but extremely effective against infantry and soft ground targets, although tanks would usually be unaffected.)

Seraph and Wisp, by this time, have managed to get around to the other side of the airfield (they took the long way around, while all the attention was diverted to the Shadow Platoon,) where the fuel drums and other important supplies are located. Seraph and Wisp carefully begin placing C4 in strategic areas, then start to run, as they get a good distance away, they activate the C4.

The armored glass canopies of the Frogfoot resisted the hits, just as hey had been designed to. One of the planes managed to take off, but the other had its landing gear collapsed. The pilots of the second plane immediately evacuated their aircraft as the first aircraft took off.

<<This is Phantom Eye>>
The radar operator said <<We detected some ECM, we might have enemy reinforcements inbound. Requesting permission to engage>>
"What kind of a question is that!? FIRE!" Natasha answered with a portable radio as she went down the stairs
<<Understood. HARM on the way, SAM sites armed.>> The radar operator continued, and a single S-300 missile was fired at the sorce of the jamming. Seeing it was an anti-radiation missile, chaff and flares wouldn't work on it. <<Estimated time for impact is--->>
The transmission was cut off when C-4 planted by Seraph and Wisp exploded and blew up an enormous portion of the fuel dumps. The fireball was so big that it even enguled one of the Birkanian Air Force IL-76s.

The two officers managed to escape the control tower, and ran to the other side of the runway, going the oposite way of where the rest of the entire force was going.
"SHIT! What was that!?" Natasha shouted, taking Falabi's hand as a racketpanzer rolled by "We're gonna get killed in here!"
"I will not leave my men! Never!" He pulled his hand off Natasha's grasp "You go to the radars, they're gonna need you. I'll help my men with those dogs!" He ordered a soldier to bring him a weapon, any weapon.
"Falabi, this is your war, not mine! You said it!" Natasha replied as Falabi was given an AK-47 "If you die then these soldiers will have nobody to lead them!!" She shouted at the top of her lungs as the Su-25 passed next to them.
"There's many more willing to guide my men!" Falabi replied before getting atop an IT-3 tank "Becoming a martyr will be the greatest honor in my life" He concluded, and the tank headed towards the ongoing battle.

The racketpanzers finally hit the frontlines, and saw the praetorians trying to get away. After designating the large infantry formation with its laser, the tank fired three Helffire missiles at the retreating soldiers.

The missile hit with deadly accuracy, killing what was left of the Shadow Platoon. Platoon Leader was the only one left, he turned around to face the enemy, knowing he was going to die, god damn he was going to die a hero. He began to fire at rebels as one bullet hit him in the side, then another, then one finally hit him in the chest. As he slumped down on his knees, he looked at the enemy as his vision grew clouded, an IT-3 getting closer, he raises his gun to fire at it... And it is promptly vaporized (figuratively) by a round from a Paladin Heavy MBT. The reinforcements have arrived, but it is too late. The Platoon Commander takes off his helmet and looks at the Paladins and Reapers which have now entered the battlefield, catching the enemy completely off guard. "For my country, for honor, and for my men." The Praetorian said, giving a feeble salute to the tanks and gunships before falling to the ground, his last breath escaping his lips.

The Reaper gunships start a devastating sweep of the enemy positions, first targeting the SAMs as they are focused on the jamming signal, firing their rockets in volleys. After they do that, they open fire on the Heavy armor with their AP rockets. The Paladins begin shelling the tanks, whose guns are not only facing the other way (aiming at what was left of the Praetorian Shadow Platoon) but the tanks themselves, exposing their side armor to Depleted Uranium/HEAT rounds in fast moving volleys. Some of the Artillery begin their assault on the Airfield, firing heavy HE rounds at the Control tower and the tightly packed aircraft/vehicles (those which haven't been manned yet), while two others fire at the IT-3's with HE rounds.

"We're hit!" The ECM Plane said, it's tail being sheared almost cleanly off by the missile. Barely being kept aloft, it begins its emergency descent back to the Praetorian Camp. The two Falcon Ground Attack fighters begin firing their missiles at the IFV's as they get lock on's, after firing (and forgetting, similar to Hellfire missiles) they start targeting racketpanzers and Anti-Air emplacements. The Hawks, having come from the Ulysses, manage to pick out the lone rebel fighter that has barely begun it's ascent (the most vulnerable part of a plane's flight, if I remember) and begin firing at it with their missiles (I don't remember what they are called, but the ones that are highly maneuverable.)

"We got to get out of here, Wisp!" Seraph yells, helping Wisp up (he was knocked down from the explosion.) The two start running silently in the direction which, coincidentally, Falabi and Natasha were going.

<<This is Voldanoi 1, they're after me! I can't get them off!>> the pilot of the Su-25 popped flares, but it didin't manage to get enough distance from them to fool the missile, which hit his plane. The Frogfoot fireballed and crashed aganist the runway, adding to the havoc that was going on, now that pretty much all of the aircraft were in flames after being hit by artillery.

The artillery also hit the IT-3 tanks, although their hardening aganist top-down attacks allowed some to survive the near-misses, but one was hit directly and exploded. The T-64s didn't have the same luck, and were all but wiped out by the artillery. Another two were disabled by enemy fire from the tanks, with a third one exploding. The turret of the one that exploded crashed next to the platoon leader's tank.
"Dammit, this is a full offensive!" Natasha shouted, holding a radio on one of her hands and an AK-74u carbine in the other. <<to all surviving tanks, I want you to regroup on the jungle. You're too exposed there. The racketpanzers will cover the AA tanks, now get the hell away from that control tower!>>

<<This is lieutenant Vladimir Durov to all surviving tanks. Turn to face the enemy armor, get our infantry away from us>> He said, and the control tower collapsed <<Missile tanks, destroy enemy armor. If thinkgs get worse we'll support the evacuation>>
The AA tanks regrouped in the middle of the runway amongst the wreckages of the SAM vehicles and started firing their autocannons at the air aiming for the gunships. The same tanks fired four 9M311 missiles aganist the ground-attack planes as they flew overhead.

The racketpanzers that survived the initial volley from the helicopters grouped up in a loose column behind the group of IT-3s, and started firing their missiles at the enemy Paladins, while the IT-3s themselves turned on a dime to face the enemy armor, and fired APFSDS munitions directed at the enemy tanks. The infantry scattered around the airfield to avoid making a large target, the many jihadists led by a few Birkanian soldiers. They were also going after the armor, and fired four Spike ATGM mounts. Seeing the Hellfires from the racketpanzers were laser-guided and the Spikes were IR-seeking, the Paladins' jamming suites wouldn't help them much.

"God, I can't believe hell breaks loose so quickly!" Natasha said as she and Falabi kept running for a safe place to direct the operations from. "We already lost several tanks! They're gonna execute me back home if I ever make it out of here alive"
"Well, why don't you try and stay here after this?" Falabi asked, still carrying his RPK machinegun "Not like we are overstaffed"
They kept running for some distance, until they finally stumbled upon Wisp and Seraph.

A lonely Birkanian Zenit satellite overflew the region form orbit, taking some reconaissance pictures, that were sent to the Birkanian military GHQ.
<<Colonel Livitnenko has proven a waste of resources to say the least>> General Stetsko said, looking at the images of destruction coldly <<This goes beyond simple imprudence. This is high treason.>>
<<Well, let's not forget that the casualties inflicted upon the AG forces made them retreat. This will hopefully be the last we hear from them.>> An Air Force general said trough the videoconference, with his screen simply saying "sound only" <<I trust her, General Stetsko. If she can survive this attack then the alyxandretans won't be much of a problem. The loss of the tanks is lamentable, but think of what we are achieving!>>
<<My descision won't change, Redlov>> Stetsko replied <<As soon as the whole affair is cleared out she's getting out of my army. Either shot or discharged, depending on wheter she wns or loses>>

The Praetorian & Islamic rebels aided by their Birkaine allies bombarded one another day & night, it seemed they were intent on sinking the island under the weight of all this carnage.

In the city centre Alyxandretan troops returned and began constructing the 'great divide' as it was being called, a wall that sectioned off the city in effect isolating those trapped in rebel territory, General Bekha himself led this operation while a thousand of his men aided the Praetorians.

The city was now not only alive with construction of this divide but protests were starting, it seemed the citizens were not happy and demanded the wall to be torn down. Others chanted 'FREE SINAI! FREE SINAI!' at the top of their lungs, it seemed a large majority were now siding with the rebels and were demanding a free state, without Alyxandretan influence.

Shots were fired into the crowd, it seemed some trigger happy Alyxandretan had lost the plot and killed four protesters. This was NOT what we needed right now, Alyxandreta NEEDS Sinapurum and vice versa.

The wall was finally constructed, families, neighbours and communities divided by the wall, construction on a new military base in the docklands was going ahead, it seemed that we were here for the long haul and Sinapurum would never be ruled by extremists.
