The news of Fazluddin being missing... didn't really impact us that much.
Quite on the contrary, Berkant didn't even acknowledge it while studying Mister Limsung's map and while new quarters for Ayesha were arranged aboard their cruiser, he still busied himself with it. I listened to the conversation, though, especially when it turned to Mario.

"GNS Hoitun, this is Ambassador Iên Limsung. We are returning with the Insaani delegate Ayesha al-Andalusí, who will be staying with us for the remainder of the conference. Please prepare a room for her and ensure she remains safe and un-kidnapped during her stay."

Eventually Iên and Ayesha arrive at the port where the GNS Hoitun is docked. An imposing vessel compared to the civilian ships docked at the Port of Taranto, though closer inspection shows that the Hoitun is certainly not a new ship. A refit of the United States Virginia-class missile cruiser, Gongsi acquired three ships of the class in 1999 from the US in exchange for basing rights and several preferential trade agreements.

Approaching the ship, two marines greet and escort Ayesha to her chambers. Formerly Ambassador Iên's room, his personal effects had been moved elsewhere in preparation for its new occupant. The furniture is sparse, but not harsh. A simple wooden bed runs along the far wall, coupled with a nightstand and lamp. Beside it is a wardrobe and floor mirror, and on the opposite side of the room is a writing desk and the door to a small personal bathroom.

Douglas decided to wait until Ayesha was onboard the ship to discuss the disappearance of Fazluddin. Hopefully he just wandered too far and did not get kidnapped.

"It's no worry, I promise," Iên says with a smile. "Me and my siblings grew up in poverty, a little less luxury isn't going to kill me. Besides, you are our guest, it would be shame on all our heads if we did not give you the best we have to offer."

Iên turns to leave, but pauses for a moment. "If you need anything, anything at all, let me know."

This is nice! she thought to herself.
She went to the bathroom and made wudhu. Then, she exited and prayed. Finishing, she went back to the bathroom and took a shower.

It has to be Asim who is responsible for this. I know it is. Douglas thought to himself.

He decided that Fazluddin was in danger of being killed along with the other royal family members and that Jamesia could not let an ally be destroyed. He needed The True Republic of Insaanistan, Gongsi and Langenia to get Fazluddin back.

"...will defend our land and defend our interests and our allies. In the name of Allah, I will be the one who saves Insaanistan from the Crusaders at our doorstep!"

"God dammit," Iên breathes, wringing his hands nervously. "Everything is always going from bad to worse here."

Losing strength in his legs, he gracelessly finds his way to a chair to sit down. With Fazluddin missing, non-Asim Insaanistan was now under the control of General Abdul-Aziz, and the General seemed even worse to work with than Asim. Any chance at negotiating peace disappeared into the Italian countryside with Fazluddin.

"This is not going to work. We might be able to get Ayesha to agree to something, but there is no way either side of this Insaani mess is going to accept anything that happens here. Hell, we might actually have a better time working something out with Asim..."

The situation was now dire. Diplomacy was sure to break down, and the conflict would almost certainly continue. This time, however, it would not end until Coalition tanks were in Muslimbol, and Iên doubted Gongsi would remain neutral for this conflict.

For the next several hours, Iên writes hundreds of draft treaties, some more complete than others. All end up in the waste bin. There was no way Abdul-Aziz, Asim, and the Coalition were going to come to any form of agreement or compromise. No, either Fazluddin had to be found or a miracle had to happen in the coming days.

Tomorrow he would need to speak with Ayesha and Mr. Hopkins. The fate of Insaanistan depended on it.
