Another NS World War [OOC, Sign-Up, Planning]

So some years ago I created a thread about a NS World War and it was good where it also went into a second thread that continued the first one and all was going really good then some of the main nations in it CTE'd and it just ended. So now I want to try again and really test out my War Morale System that I created plus I want to allow each nation that signs up to add the events of this World War to the history of their nation. This type of RP could possibly create an RP group that does story RPs together while I know that many nations have different RP styles I want to create something where all those styles come together and tell a great story that shapes all nations involved. The main plot would be set in MT and it would be about a terrorist group that's raising and has claimed a small nation as their own which I would like for that nation to be player controlled and the goal would be to liberate them from the group's authority this is something that I think would be interesting to RP. To be fair the nation that chooses to be occupied by the terrorist group can control it but the overall goal would be for the group to lose and for their nation's government to regain control of the area. Though if the RP gets a second thread the terrorist group will have moved to another nation started up an insurgency there. If anyone is interested and has other ideas as to what would be involved reply and share them here.

The guy talked about RPing an Afghan-esque intervention, not about how you need to "defend" or "fight on behalf of the defensive side" (unless by the latter you mean you want to fight on the side of the terrorists, I guess).

I saw the RP at the time and came across the old thread recently. There's no reason why an international coalition against terror RP couldn't work well, but I think the War Morale System would have to be significantly adjusted to account for how different a war on terror is to a world war.

Didn't expect so many replies so soon to this but thanks all. Also my Morale System does have a forum thread as well which is linked in the dispatch about it so it can be expanded just I don't want complicated math a simple system is enough.

We will be using NS stats except population and the stats included will be dropped to a third of what they are already or to something more realistic.

I updated the OP to show which nations will be on which side. Also if anyone has any suggestions as to what the motive of the terrorist group is please post them so they can be discussed, but I do want their motive to be as realistic as possible where the motive is noble though the group is very extreme in their views and ideals on how to achieve their goals also I want this RP to deal with racial and religious angle to their motive. With that said even though the RP will be dealing with racial and religious issues I don't want any hate in the OOC in the IC it will be fine because we're not talking about the person who is RPing the nation but their characters if there is any hate in the OOC you will get one warning after that you will be removed from the RP and not allowed to post in the IC

right now I just want to work on planning the RP mainly the motive of the terrorist group then we can set up sides as to which nations are where once all the story elements are worked then I will start the sign-up phase where people can choose sides or even be just a news organization if they want to

That what the first half of this thread is for planning the motive of the terrorist group and overall plot of the story and then after all that is agreed on I will begin the sign up phase of the RP where nations can pick which side they're on plus it gives nations time to decide if they want to be involved with an RP that is going to deal with mature themes and controversial issues

I have to agree that's a pretty interesting motivation, since so many terrorist groups try and establish dictatorships or theocracies. Terrorism in the name of democracy is a twist.

I like the idea but I want to make it so that the group already has the nation under their control which is why a nation has to sign up to be that nation like their nation's government is in exile and has been trying for years to convince other nations that the group isn't in control and had overthrown their government to get power. The nation that chooses to be the occupied nation gets to control the group though the group will be defeated and splinter off in a second part if there is one
