The National Assembly had almost immediately devolved into chaos. The majority, led by the Social Democrats, began calling for an end to all involvement in Italy, while the GSI and the Christian Minority League surprisingly both supported sending aid Northern Italy in varying degrees. Neither side agreed with the President's "half-measures" and all legislature had ground to a complete halt.

Meanwhile President Cheng Kianho paced in his office. He had not uttered a word since he gave the command to send relief aid to Italy. What was once his plan to help ease tensions in Gongsi had now become its undoing. Everything was falling apart around him, and all Cheng could do was watch and wait.

In twenty days Gongsi's 3rd Expeditionary landed in Amalfi and began taking setting up camps to aid the local populace. They also helped escort fleeing refugees to GNS landing ships, preparing to help those who wish to evacuate do so.

Khatijah Ahmad nervously rapped her fingers along the railing of the ship. Her eyes darted along the horizon, as if she anticipated trouble coming any second. The ramshackle fleet she had slapped together wasn't carrying any weapons or overtly dangerous supplies. Still, Khatijah couldn't help but feel nervous. This war would either make or break the GSI, and it's inexperienced leader couldn't shake the feeling that it would be the latter.

"We're entering the Suez Canal Authority Zone."

Khatijah took a deep breathe. If they didn't win, the only way back home would be a trek through the heart of the Middle East. Assuming they didn't die, of course.

They are informed that Gongsi will remain officially neutral, but also wishes to provide to aid civilians in Southern Italy. The ships carry some basic military equipment (rifles, air defense systems, light transports) alongside tents, food, medicine, and other such necessities.
