I’m of the mind to ask for Pantelleria, the island to the northwest of Malta. I could use it as a trading and supply hub for Almofakun merchants or as a place of solitude for Musafakic equivalent of monks/nuns, and for general religious practice.

I think those islands that aren’t considered “European” aren’t required for liberation unless someone decides to do so anyway at their own wish. Whether or not they stay with Insaanistan or become autonomous/free financial/economic zones or something else, can be decided at the end of war conference. They could become their own Singapores maybe.

Cool story, but the more important question is this: Who are the ones in Sicily proclaiming the support for Insaanistan? Are they native Italians, which I could not conceiveably imagine? Or are they descendants of the Muslim Settlers from the 50s and 60s?
If the latter is the case, then the support will vanish the moment the Insaanistanis are gone. And, if I am reading the room correctly, the repatriation of all Insaanistani nationals and of the Insaani-descended Italians willing to move to Insaanistan will be one of the demands made by the Coalition.

Yeah, Malta is independent and free and a trading partner.
Like the rest of Southern Italy, it’s a mix of both. It’s all not evenly dispersed across the island: Palermo supports Insaanistan, while Catania wants to be part of an independent Italy. Basically, South and West are for Insaanistan, North and East a free Italy.
