The Euboean Sea - Seas off Cimmeria
Navarch (admiral) Attalus surveyed the grand fleet which had assembled under his command. Vessels from every state, and every port had been called upon, to both enclose, and defend the island. Their blockade stretched all along the coast of Cimmeria
The Navarch had called for his captains so he may inform them of their mission. “I know you’d all rather be on that rock, but our task is still important men. We must first engage any rebel pirates who seek to escape their fate; and equally important, we must prevent any foreign vessels, that have not been given authority to pass, from breaching the blockade. If necessary, force may be used.”

There was a tension and anxiousness in the air as the rebels scrambled to get a hold of the situation. They had received radio communication from Northern beach defences of an invading fleet. Then communication had been cut off. They assumed the worst, but the nearby town of Atmoni had no movement to report, having lost contact with all patrols in the area of the beach.
The rebel leader Akkadian resolved to send his brother and general, Abbas, along with a detachment of reinforcements to Atmoni. He was tasked with sending patrols north to investigate the situation, and preparing the city’s defences for the impending siege. Atmoni was a vital strategic position for the rebels; losing it could mean losing the capital Cimmer, and then the whole island.
The Commonwealth Society Assembly - Ida, Britcan
The Vice-Chair rose to the podium, having listened to the proceedings so far. His primary objective had been to head off any attempt of the international community to intervene directly on the island, and to challenge the demand for reparations from Halleon; he had therefore been pleased to see both the motion from Halleon be roundly dismissed, and only minor protestations around the establishment of the blockade, and little talk of peacekeeping forces.
“I’d like to thank the delegate from Halleon for his decision to dismiss his claim of holding Kaarland liable for monetary losses; however, I would like to clarify for the benefit of the assembly, does he mean to lodge a new motion addressing in his words ‘that every member of the Commonwealth Society should be held responsible for the actions of piracy committed within their sovereign waters’, or has the matter been dismissed entirely?”
He then turned to the delegate from Oshibe.
“And to the nation of Oshibe, as we have made clear to the nation of Magubu, the terrorists on the island of Cimmeria are dangerous and murderous criminals. The territory of Cimmeria is sovereign territory of the League of Kaarland, and the terrorists’ cause cannot be considered anything other than illegitimate.”
“On the issue of refugees, as you all will understand the liberation of more territory opens the opportunity for refugee facilitates to be established within safe zones on the island. Therefore, the top priority is to maintain the TEZ and continue the advance against rebel positions.”
“Speaking directly to the proposal of ‘liberation squads’ by the honourable delegate from Oshibe, we believe such an initiative to be both impractical and unnecessary. And of course, share the concerns raised by the delegate from Batavie over issues of sovereignty.”
“To the request from Halleon that an inquiry into the refugee situation be established, I’m sure in due course the situation will become clearer, but at this early stage it is unclear what effect the crisis will have on displacement of peoples. If the situation develops in such a way that it would impact the international community, we will of course raise this.”
“Finally, we believe the proposals from Kherkov of a reduction in size of the TEZ, a week from now, to be a fair compromise.”
“However, whilst we share their concerns that the proposed new commission should not infringe upon the rights’ of states, we do not believe that to be the case here. We must disagree and ask that states do support this motion, as we believe it to be beneficial to the prosperity of the entire region.”
With that the Vice-Chair ceded the floor.
