“Does anybody read? By the gods, is anyone there? This is Major Artemus Karas of the Cimmerian Garrison. We’re being overrun! I repeat, we’re being overrun!”

As the sun rises on the easternmost territory of Kaarland, the dawn breaks on a new Cimmeria, one ruled by the Cimmerian Liberation Front. A violent secessionist group, the CLF launched all-out attacks on the local garrison during the past few days, and achieved complete control of the island by 0500 hours today. In the chaos, many civilians were killed, and Kaarite prisoners of war are now being executed on the streets. Shipping lanes and Kaarite merchant vessels have already come under attack by raiding forces.

As the last of the Kaarite forces are murdered in cold blood or flee to the mainland, CLF forces toast their victory, and anarchy reigns. With Cimmeria lost, all eyes are on Kaarland and Britcan, waiting for the former to act, and the latter to spur the Commonwealth Assembly into action. But, unbeknownst to the CLF, their rebellion is only the first of a series of coming events that will come to change Albionia - and indeed the entire Commonwealth - forever…

Welcome, one and all, to the first RP of our rebooted Commonwealth Society! We’d like as many of our Member States to get involved as possible, so don’t worry if you’re new to roleplaying or new to NS in general – we’d still like you to join in! No application necessary – as long as you’re in the CWS and on the map, you can join (If you’ve been accepted onto the map but I haven’t put you on yet, you’re welcome too). If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to ask on this thread and I or one of my faithful Co-OPs will respond!

For this RP, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the history and governmental structure of Kaarland, as well as the IC structure of the Commonwealth Society.

How to join

This RP is for members of The Commonwealth Society only. If you are not a member of our region, you are more than welcome to join the region – please check out our Discord server for details on how to apply to the Commonwealth.

Commonwealth Member States should post a message on this thread stating that they are participating to be allowed to post in the IC thread.

1. The OP/Co-OP’s word is final.
2. No godmodding – try and be as realistic as possible while keeping artistic flair.
3. No metagaming – OOC knowledge does not transfer to your IC characters/nations.
4. Keep OOC in the OOC thread (be civil!) and vice versa.
5. No inadequate IC posts (I.E. No one liners, grammar and spelling to be at a decent standard).

28/02/21 – Kaarite Senate fails to vote for comprehensive military action to dislodge rebel forces, but Aphenian politicians plan to send special forces units to locate and rescue the Kaarite Archon – in Cimmeria at the time of the rebellion.
28/02/21 – Britcani coalition government collapses over the government's proposed finance bill. The Britcani Chair of the Commonwealth Assembly, Eric Vaughn, resigns, leaving the Kaarite Vice-Chair, Sophos Xenia, in temporary leadership.
28/02/21 – Kherkov announces the mobilisation of troops to defeat rebel forces. Exclusion zone set up around Cimmeria, with only Krepost Pact nations (Kherkov, Viperia, Kaarland) permitted to enter or leave freely.

01/03/21 - Concerned by the effect of unfolding events on trade, the Batavian and Saint-Augustine governments attempt to drum up prelimary support for a proposed Anti-Piracy Commonwealth Commission.
01/03/21 - Prince Eugène III visits the Saint-Augustine National Council for the first time in years to discuss the crisis, but leaves abruptly following a coughing fit after a series of questions regarding reliance on Kherkovian energy.
01/03/21 - The Halleonian government announces that it is holding Kaarland liable for damages caused to shipping.
01/03/21 - A bombing of Silverlandian governmental property occurs in Hadrian Tor by pro-Cimmerian insurgents.
01/03/21 - The Viperian Government affirms its intention to join the blockade of Cimmeria as a Krepost Pact nation, and dispatches warships.

02/03/21 - The Sultan of Demesetelis affirms his nation's support for the proposed Anti-Piracy Commission.

03/03/21 - Britcani PM Rooke scrambles for support for his bill in Parliament. The Britcani Foreign Ministry denounces Halleon's legal challenge and affirms support for the Anti-Piracy Commission.
03/03/21 - Magubu condemns the suppression of Cimmeria and emphasises their rights as a sovereign peoples.

04/03/21 - The Kaarite Government quizzes Kherkov's intentions, but joins the blockade. Aphenian special forces land on the island and begin to search for the Archon.
04/03/21 - Halleon publicly questions Britcani leadership of the international community.
04/03/21 - Kherkovian naval assets begin shore bombardments in preparation for a naval landing as well as continuing to hunt down rebel shioips. Paratroopers sow chaos on land.

05/03/21 - Halleonian vessels begin to approach the Delph Sea, with orders to remain in international orders, for now.

07/03/21 - The government of Oshibe plots a task force to rescue innocents from Cimmeria.

08/03/21 - Kherkovian forces establish a forward operating base in north-western Cimmeria.
08/03/21 - The Britcani Conservative Party plots to oust the current Prime Minister and seize power.

11/03/21 - Kherkovian forces begin their advance on Atmoni.

15/03/21 - The Emergency Session of the Commonwealth Assembly concludes, with Kherkov and the other Krepost nations promising to reduce the TEZ in a week's time, and the creation of a new Commission.
15/03/21 - Attempted assassination on the Sultan of Demesetelis after the CA Session.

16/03/21 - Kherkovian ground forces begin their assault in earnest, marking the beginning of the Battle of Atmoni.

18/03/21 - Prince Eugène of Saint-Auguste passes away due to lung cancer. His daughter Stephanié takes the throne.

19/03/21 - The Britcani Conservative Caucus lobbies support for a vote of no confidence in current PM Rooke. Britcani naval assets move to the edge of the TEZ.
19/03/21 - The Royal Family of Demesetelis works to improve its public image through mass internet campaigns.
19/03/21 - CLF rebels mount a bitter defence of Atmoni. The Kaarite Senate votes to attempt to extract the Archon from the island following new intelligence.

22/03/21 - Kherkovian troops take Atmoni after bitter urban combat. The TEZ is reduced to the size stated in the Commonwealth Assembly.

26/03/21 - The funeral of Prince Euugène of Saint-Auguste is held. Batavie is appointed head of the new MSAP Commission by Saint-Auguste.

27/03/21 - The Kaarite Archon and his family are all killed before the extraction team is able to reach them, save for the Archon's youngest son, Prince Lysander. The Senate suspects treason. Kaarite troops land on the beaches near Cimmer.

01/04/21 - The Kherkovian heir apparent, Crown Prince Adolphus, arrives in Cimmeria to take over administrative duties. Kherkovian troops advance on Arrechi and Nisa.

13/04/21 - Kaarite troops, having taken the city of Cimmer, begin advancing after the retreating rebel army into the Ghizil forest.

17/04/21 - With the capture of Arrechi and Nisa, Kherkovian forces also push the retreating rebels into the Ghizil forest from the north.

End of April - Kaarite intelligence discovers that Argomon was responsible for the insitgating and funding of the CLF rebellion as Krepost forces defeat the last of the rebel troops. With a civil war looming in Kaarland, Argomon seeks foreign support for a new regime from Kherkov as the other states rally around Aphus to unite the nation under Archon Alexander's only surviving heir.

Just as a warning - this is a Modern tech RP, and our region is 'detached' from RL earth. After a quick look at your nation, it seems more geared toward FT and quite integrated with the real world, so unsure if you'd be willing to change those things.

Do you mean the 'detached' part? We are not part of Earth, nor do we use a real Earth map - we have our own custom one. While some of our histories contain references to things in the real world, we are detached in that we exist largely separately in our own little bubble, our own world. You won't see any concrete links with the real world in any of our RPs - e.g. there won't be any references to what real world countries like the US might think of the situation in Cimmeria. And everyone in the region exists on our custom map. In your factbook I saw things like references to a NATO merger and whatnot after a brief look; this wouldn't be permitted in our region.

So I'm not apart of what you're apart of but I created a morale system for RPing wars and I have used in an RP I created which worked out for me and the other RPers that were apart of it but your group looks like it could use something like this for your planned RP as it looks to be about a massive war and I want to improve on the system but I don't know what it would need to improve maybe you could have your group look at it and discuss it maybe agree to use in your RP if you all like it. link to the dispatch below mostly just looking for feed back.

No problem also you would still write things out but at the end of your post you would add up what you did like if you RP'd that a USO event happened then you would add the related score associated with the event but the system does take a bit of planning as all of the people involved have to agree what points are associated with what event what do you think would improve it

That makes sense, generally I prefer not having things like morale too tied down to numerical values however. If you want to discuss this further, I'd suggest starting a thread for it somewhere, as this is the OOC for an upcoming RP and I'd like to keep it fairly on-topic.
