Task Force Crimson steadily sailed northeast towards the Richting Atoll. For two days now, the fleet had been operating at combat conditions. This was an active warzone. The pro-Trenakan forces were numerically stronger, but there was still heavy fighting on and around the islands. Task Force Crimson had a simple mandate: secure the waters around the Richting Atoll and cut off the nationalists and their foreign supporters from resupply or reinforcements.

The two minesweepers led the task force, given that Intelligence was pretty sure mines were being used. In the skies above, fighters from the MPS Nataniel Kahlon kept up a combat air patrol.

This is Vice-Admiral Harun Shotel of the Mevraqi People's Navy, here to oppose the nationalist insurgency and protect the people of Trenaka. Please advise us of your current situation.

Unless those mines are some super-secret weapon you haven't used before, the general range is probably known to other nations' militaries. Since they're torpedo-based, their range is probably similar to standard Cossack torpedoes. Of course, even if the Mevraqis know that there are minefields, they don't know where they are...

"Alter course to rendezvous with the Lacienian fleet. Inform Commander Goldwater that he's about to earn his keep."

OOC: I see. I don't think it's unreasonable that Mevraqi intelligence would suspect that mines were there even before the message, but you're right that we wouldn't be able to connect them to the Cossacks immediately.

"Enemy movement detected" A voice in Dawson's radio yelled. Soon enough, a horde of rebels would emerge. The 32nd infantry readied their TRR-M1s and prepared for a fight. The bursts of the TRR-M1, combined with the rapid firing of assorted assault rifles, most notably AK-47s, rang out. Delta company was the first to make contact, gunning down man after man, taking minimal casualties. The fight in Omega company's sector wasn't going as well, and rebel forces managed to break through, but were killed by SAA bayonets and knives. Baker company was nearly destroyed, and was only saved thanks to reinforcements from Easy company. After hours of back-and-forth fighting, the rebels were forced to retreat thanks to the support of Ottawa squadron. Medivac operations were performed by the 2nd air cavalry, resulting in many lives being saved.

Zubeknakov was sleeping on his couch, his house was hardly one of grandeur. The news feeds were on the television, the feeds switched to breaking a story.

The headlines read "Imperialistic nations attempt to bombard natives from land for oil. Other nations attempt to aid natives." The cameras swapped from the anchor, to camera feeds of anti-ship missiles firing, followed by tens of anti-aircraft missiles, along with anti-aircraft cannons blasting. They cut to a short clip of a Piikalan plane taking a hit by a missile before slamming into the ground, it took a few moments before the explosion was heard through the speakers.

Zubeknakov began to dream of his old republic. Fighting imperialists, vivid memories of water boarding and other torture methods. Public and political executions. He was woken when another plane hit much closer to a camera with a loud enough bang to sufficiently shake the subwoofer. He began to read the headlines and see the fight.

Zubeknakov scrambled for his phone before drawing up a drafting assignment and a mobilization of actual forces to begin a new war effort. He realized how bad this could look on Dernel in the international community if he lost, so he would act as if communications were cut to the segment of military fighting the mini-war. If things went bad he would be able to claim rogue fleet, or if things went well, claim the whole fight was his idea. Either way, he'd win.

Zubeknakov ordered six thousand reserve personnel to engage in the new war effort as infantry. Along with 5 DMBT-I6, 35 DRMA-I5, numerous vessels, aircraft and the men that normally crew them. Space assets could be utilized as needed, but due to their nature didn't require any mobilization.

Shortly after the mobilization was signed Zubeknakov recognized the language a reporter was using to converse with some of the PMCs. It was Ukrainian. He quickly called an aide to call the Cossack embassy. As it turned out a WURCo. representative was already at the embassy trying to get a line to Dernel. It was quickly explained and asked that Dernel support the humanitarian operation. Zubeknakov replied that reinforcements were en route, before thanking them and hanging up.

He smiled. It was going to be a glorious next few weeks.

The Mevraqi task force drew up alongside their Lacienan counterparts. A few sailors grumbled about fighting alongside capitalists. Relations with Trenaka were generally good, but seeing several capitalist democracies and even monarchies line up to support Trenaka, while some of their enemies were self-described socialists, had tempered public support for the intervention. Regardless, the men and women of Task Force Crimson would do their duty. Whether or not they personally agreed with the policies of Premier Miri Saleh. the people of Mevraq had put her into office.

While Admiral Shotel took a helicopter to meet with the Lacienan CO, Lieutenant Commander Yassi Goldwater, CO of MPS Damam, went to her task. While the combined fleet remained at the edge of the minefield, Damam fired a single Type 3 decoy directly into the minefield. It would mimic the sonar signature of a Hammerhead-class attack submarine, just like the three currently assigned to the fleet, and even give off identical sonar pings. Meanwhile, a helicopter from Nathaniel Kahlon dropped a trio of sonar buoys above the field, monitoring the readings from the decoy's pings.

Officers are shuffling left and right getting to their stations, Surfacing sails for better transmission." says a spotter to his captain. It's all going down.

Meanwhile on the surface, 12 frigates, all carrying 100 men each, have stopped by the beaches with their starboard facing land. Marines flood out from the rear of the frigates, rifles at the ready. Machine gun fire poured onto them. The thick hull of the frigates had covered most of the bullets, while the rest that did hit personel were minor shrapnel wounds. The beaches (I ooc assume are only covered in trees and bush) were easy to breach as little cover protected the rebels. It was a slow advance however, as the frigates couldn't go into too shallow waters too quickly. This in turn helped the rebels reinforce and evacuate important and wounded people. The whole ordeal lasted 5 hours and 27 minutes, with Tanokian casualties being 68-74 wounded, 13 dead, while the rebels faced 30 wounded and captured, and 23 dead. The rebels were already leaving when the Marines arrived, so the beach was easily secured and was declared a Tanokian victory.

The moored MS-955 influence mines were standard-issue to the Cossack expeditionary submarines-- with them and their various modifications, they could gather acoustic information of enemy fleets, ward off possible unwanted vessels trailing them, and, as used in the far-off Trenakan colonies, to completely deny the use of an area of sea.

However, even it had its weaknesses. The system, proudly bearing the digits 02033, detected an acoustic stimulus. Water pressure change, magnetic signature-- the system launched a Tryzub-1048 torpedo, which rushed out of its husk of a container towards the target. A second mine whose range overlapped, system 00317, did likewise. The first to fire, 02033, homed in on the moving submersible target and once it reached the target, detonated. System 00317 was too late-- but giving the poor inanimate object some credit, it did think that the explosion some four-hundred meters ahead of it was just a ruse deployed by the enemy craft. It engaged in a search pattern, straying further from the island.

500 kilometers above the surface of Earth, beyond obscuration of the purple-tainted blue shell that houses the world, a satellite, smaller on the scale of those things-- and compared to the greater works of man, effectively a trinket-- made its twice-daily pass over the globe, visually scanning with its primitive tools a one-by-one resolution image of the Earth.

This information was transmitted back to Earth to all that needed it-- indeed, the satellite was more transmitter than imager-- and parts of that signal from a Cossack satellite found themselves received in its own obscure language by a control station in the back of a Makovsky WC-250 truck, and its information routed to handheld displays of the PRVD-808 AShM battery.

Using this information, they discerned targets from the fresh intelligence; Strange, boxy vessels-- and that wasn’t the resolution pulling a trick-- supported by numerous warships, not of Bayi, Trenakan, or Svenskan design. The boxy vessels might have been catamarans, one WURCo. contractor joked, or just really big amphibious vehicles. They were approaching from the Southwest-- however, further west were newcomers; a fleet of sharp, asphalt-grey vessels. Their device pulled up nothing on them-- no intel had been shared on their identification. So, for now, they panned their screen back to the closer, seemingly approaching ones-- indicated by the direction and length of their wake-- and selected their targets.

The “Marzanna” PRVD-808 would be guided by inertial guidance with some input from the launch station before switching to its imaging infrared seeker, a system not so easily spoofed by flares.

The launch of the missiles in some nook of the Richting Atoll was signified by the smoke as it rose over the sparse alcoves of trees on the main island before quickly dropping some 8 meters above sea level-- with its sea-skimming flight profile the targets would only have 19 kilometers maximum to respond to it due to their radar horizon-- and that is if they could detect the missile, as its shaping and low-observability composite airframe would make things far more difficult, further reducing their time to respond.

A total of fourteen of these ship-killers were hurled from mobile launchers from the Richting Atoll, aimed at the various minesweepers and escorts of the Lacenians and just-arrived Mevraqis.

OOC: Since you wrote that you were on the edge of the minefield (and knowing where the edge was is a little sketchy, since you yourself said you wouldn't know the capabilities of the mine), you also have even less time to respond to the stealth anti-ship missiles. Good luck with clearing that minefield, though.

Principle Chairman Vadimir Bezukhov skimmed through the newsfeeds and analyses he had been sent-- he saw minor successes, such as on the newsfeeds about Piikalan marines being slaughtered during an ill-designed attack, and several air attacks by fighter aircraft being repelled-- but through more classified analyses he saw a present danger of ammunition depletion of the advanced equipment WURCo. had lent the rebels during a larger assault, the inability to defend and protect the Kupferland islands, and low likelihood of survival against the tactics of sustained bombardment. How could they defend such a small area from so many opponents?

Getting up and walking to the bookshelf in his office, he cracked open one at random and let his glazed eyes gloss over the words. Other than sending more supplies or getting the Federal Republic directly involved, what was a way they could ensure a complete standstill?

Snapping the covers of the book together, it occurred to him. Part of the same technique that gave the FRCP a political edge would also have to give the rabble in that would-be micronation time to breathe. And the resource was already there, swimming some 600 kilometers away.

It was a fairly naughty thing to do, Bezukhov thought, scolding himself. But if worse came to worst, a little disobedience could manage to go a long way.

Norrington watched as the Vipers were readying themselves upon the launch deck, the MK:10 Vipers. All armed with their Standard Weapons Compliments and Equipment, their RADAR Absorbing Coating glistening in the sun-lit sky.

Air Tower Control kept doing their technical stuff with the Vipers before taking off, Norrington looked closer to one of the Vipers. It bore the Insignia of the Sun with a face on a Shield Background, he knew who those were and what the enemy is dealing with.
It was the 68th Experimental 'Sol' Squadron..and they are back for more..

Mihaly A. Shilage checked off the flightlist of his Viper and waited for the signal of the Tower to clear him for takeoff, as he did so, he noticed Rear Admiral Norrington staring at him.

He chuckled, he and norrington knew what they were going to do, and he gave him a slight nod.

Norrington nodded back at the gesture that Mihaly gave to him, after all he is one of the Legendary Pilots of the Imperial Airforce and is famed for his Skill and Efficiency in combat.

It was then a matter of time before the Viper finally was ready for take off, Norrington watched as Mihaly's Viper took off into the sun-lit sky. And shortly after being joined by Mihaly's Fellow Squadron.

"Mihaly..you madman...guess you never really know when to give up huh.." Norrington said to himself, drinking a cup of coffee shortly after.

"What is it you wanted to discuss with me, General?" Vice Admiral Flynn would say.
"I wanted to discuss the possibility of a fully airborne invasion of the Kupferlands," General Bachman replied. "However, we would have to wait for paratroopers to arrive by plane, which would take 15 hours with our transport planes."
The Vice Admiral would ponder the idea. Surely if they sent enough paratroopers, the rebels couldn't destroy them all if sufficient supplies were sent? They could also bombard the islands as well as send a bombing raid to distract the rebels.
"That sounds feasible if we support them with naval bombardment. I will send a message to the
Svenska-Brittanians to see if they will help on the operations.

Rear Admiral Norrington, my Air Force counterpart and I have drawn up a plan to have an airborne invasion of the Kupferlands. The plan is: We send in a large amount of paratroopers, supported by fighters and bombers, as well as bombarding the rebel positions.

Three triggered mines, finding their rapidly sinking targets indistinguishable from the seafloor, began a search pattern; eventually, the torpedoes caught the faintest rumbles of missile launches as they rocked the platforms against the sea and set course to immediately intercept, however far away it is.

The 5P149 air defense system's L-band air search radar swept across the horizon, picking up perhaps three flights of aircraft; it signaled its sister unit, who turned on their radar; as they were closer to the targets, they began detecting upwards of fifty aircraft, distance 200 kilometers, velocity 1030 km/h, altitude 9,831 meters.

The fighters, closing in, soon came under the attack of Yastrub PHO-953 surface-to-air missiles launched from positions that they until now had thought to be abandoned. The missiles, approaching hypersonic speeds as they shed their quick-burn first stage, struck two aircraft before they had time to deploy countermeasures. An incoming barrage of these missiles swarmed their radars, while their munitions were engaged by formerly concealed 5P103 batteries, striking bombs, missiles, and the unlucky aircraft themselves. As incoming cruise missiles bore down on the island, four more 5P103 systems lit up their radars, assessing the airspace and engaging the low-flying cruise missiles as they peaked over the horizon with 30mm autocannons and agile Klyuvka-1250 surface-to-air missiles. The 5P103's purpose was to protect larger air defense systems like the "Maslowski", and that is precisely what it did.

Norrington has been staring at the Live-Imagery Screen for a while now, and he notices a Large Complex just a few kilometers away from the Capital City. Norrington would guess that the Rebels or whatever foreign supporter are there would definetly use it as a base of operations.

He considers the choices he could do: Either send in Sol Squadron to take out the Facility and risk getting shot down by AA/SAM Fire, Use Naval Bombardment to soften up the defences, or THAT

Seeing no other choice, Norrington presses a button next to his ear.

"HMSBS Sealion.....prepare for strike package.."

The Sealion's captain would recieve the strike package order and would command the XO to have their authorizations readied.
"Strike Package: Bearing: 030, Coordinates: Alpha-Golf Two-One-Eight" Norrington would order from his Comms.

"Authorization Code?" the Sealion captain requested.
"Kilo-Bravo-Charlie-Foxtrot-Romeo" Norrington would confirm.

Underwater, the Sealion's Missile Silo would open.

The men & women on the bridge stared at Norrington, they knew he's going to do it. The bridge was so silent.

Norrington weighed upon the choice he was gonna make, but he has to do it.
"Strike Package, Launch.." He gave the order.


A few seconds later a large missile would emerge from out of the water and rapidly streak into the sky.
Norrington watched as the missile then adjusted its course towards the Target.

The Missile then sped past the Hyper-Sonic Barrier, streaking away at the target rapidly.

Few moments later, the missile hit.


A Massive Thermobaric Explosion would be seen few kilometers away from the Capital City.
A Non-Nuclear Mushroom cloud would start rising over the sky, with pillars of flames still raging on the ground.


Norrington just launched a Large Thermobaric Missile Strike at the Military Command operations Base of the rebels and completely obliterated it off the face of the earth by only guessing as what it could be.

OOC: It never said I knocked out all the aircraft; maneuverable aircraft with countermeasures are much harder to shoot down. However, 7 medium-range air defense systems and upwards of 30 short-range air defenses is more than enough to counter subsonic land-attack missiles. But to be fair, I have no clue what you are sending at me. I have no clue what your boats are like, nor what anything else your military has is like. I am operating off of modern analogies, giving you the benefit of the doubt, while you can peruse my very in-depth information about my equipment and how it works. So, I see no problem.

Walking right up to a minefield, being upset that you would have been sunk long before you got within 500 meters, reversing time, keeping knowledge of the capabilities of the mine, and then dealing with the mines.
