“Targets destroyed,” the gunner officer would report to Vice Admiral Flynn.
“Excellent work, are the aircraft ready?” the Vice Admiral would respond.
“Yes sir.”
“Good. Launch them.”
A small alarm would begin sounding on the RADAR officer’s console.
“Sir, incoming enemy aircraft!” the officer exclaimed.
“Scramble the fighters! Keep the bombers in the carrier, we don’t want those destroyed,” the Vice Admiral ordered.”
A portion of the 12th Fighter Squadron would be sent out to stop the enemy from reaching the fleet, obliterating the rest of the enemy air forces.

“Hello, Rear Admiral Norrington. This is Vice Admiral Flynn. Due to the enemy weapons sites being silenced, and their air force lying in ruins at the bottom of the sea, I was thinking of beginning the invasion soon, after we establish a blockade around the Kupferlands.”

OOC: None of you brought minesweepers on your apps and also have no clue that the rebels have mine-laying capabilities, so at least give yourself a week before you pull this wankery out of your rear ends. I mean, I'm just trying to manage a 1v12, last time I checked, so some consideration given into your bullshit exportation might be needed. Thank you.

OOC: For one, i acknowledge that i don't have minesweepers. So my Char in the RP would request from his ally if they have any minesweepers to search the area. And also he doesn't know there are mines in the area, but he can only guess as to what the enemy would put in there.

OOC: Funny, if I hadn't deployed mines you wouldn't even have considered it now. And just letting you know, minesweepers/minehunters have dedicated equipment to deal with mines and a hull commonly designed from the bottom up to not be terribly conspicuous on a mine's scopes. So just throwing a destroyer to deal with mines might not be the best idea, as there are examples of ships ill-suited to mine duties having things blow up in their face.

OOC: Well, glad all the WURCo. supplies are on the Richting Atoll, not the Kupferlands. And well beyond both of your radar horizons.

With their Bezsmertnyy towed decoy, the Marshal Panas Kryvenko could detect naval artillery fire as they slipped through the topside adversary's grasp and closer to the Kupferlands. Evidently, the situation had heated up. The captain of the submarine, Vasyl Kolomiyets, would not take any chances-- they would proceed to the far side of the island before beginning mining operations. But, for now, they were in the clear on the eastern side of the Kupferlands, some five or six kilometers from shore. With no resistance to their mission, the Marshal Panas Kryvenko completed its mission, sowing the littorals of the island with influence mines. The captain then gave the order to slowly trek out of the warzone until they could deploy their communications buoy, awaiting orders.

Still wiping the sleep from his eyes, Counter-Admiral Artem Petruk drank from a neat glass of strong coffee as he reviewed reports made over the events of the past night. Satellite imagery, even ones with but one meter's resolution, had captured shots of warships in the process of bombarding the Kupferlands, destroying some of the fixed positions the rebels had set up. Poor buggers; should've known to camouflage it before satellites passed over, giving away their position indefinitely. As well as that, there was a rebel broadcast transmitted from Richter Atoll-- one bragging about the plethora of Piikalan paratroopers shot down before any of them could even deploy parachutes. They were doing better than he expected. And finally, new orders.

The order came straight from the Department of War in New Krasnoyarsk-- the first stipulation was that the 3rd Expeditionary Group was to return to the vicinity of the Kupferland and Richting islands. They had traveled nearly 200 kilometers away from their previous position, their bearing to take them around Cape Horn in Chile, but yet were still not nearly there. So, without much commotion, the fleet turned about and sailed back towards the Richting and Kupferland islands; they would arrive within 600 kilometers of Richting Atoll again in nine hours.

However, it wasn't that part of the order which worried Artem. It had a corollary-- one professing that the fleet, still with some of the vessels on their maiden voyage, now had the authority to profess themselves as peacekeepers and acting in the interest of human rights. Which wasn't on its own particularly momentous; but under that phrase, the orders dictated that certain vessels of theirs be retasked. And that was what worried the Counter-Admiral.

"Comrades of the world, we have seen the plight of the rebellion in the Richting and Kupferland islands and compare it very much to our own struggle for independence, so long ago. We Cossacks are stark opponents of imperialism, having thrown off the chains of our masters ourselves when we abolished the Commonwealth before us and defended our land from invaders and subversives alike-- and I ask you, nations of the world, what right do you have to stifle in its infancy this flowering desire for freedom? Trenaka shares no borders with the Richting Atoll-- one cannot walk between or freely converse between the Kupferland islands and their masters in Central Europe. The Federal Republic recognizes the rights to self-determination that these so-called rebels are entitled to-- and whatever may come out of this, the Federal Republic recognizes the sovereignty of a free and independent Richting and Kupferland Isles. We implore our brethren on the world stage to do the same, should they have any respect for the human spirit and its desire-- nay, requisite of freedom."

So said Vadimir Bezukhov in a prepared speech against the backdrop of some interior nook of the Capitol Complex.

(OOC: Presuming you meant to attack both the Kupferlands and the Richting Atoll)
A flight of Zarnicovian fighter craft appeared on the "Maslowski"'s radar as it made another sweep of the horizon. Then two more flights. The crew scrambled to get their headsets on and quickly set about piecing together information, while the Uryadnik barked orders on which to engage first before switching to barking on a radio, communicating with other SAM systems.

In the interior of the cockpit of one of those crafts, it must have seemed like their entire display and HUD lit up like a Christmas tree, with new sources of lock-ons increasing as the air search radars swept them, fire-control radars focused on them, and Yastrub PHO-953 and "Veles" KPD-44 missiles streaked upwards to their altitude, homing in on them.

The decisive victory of the night before left the combined forces of the Cossacks and the former Trenakans in high spirits. Rebels and associates had lit small fires to commiserate around (using portable gas stoves, as there was a lack of firewood), breaking open boxes of ale to share in the moment. The cheer soon wore off.

The morning after, they had trekked through the island, collecting scrap from fallen Piikalan transports and mobilized their SAM and AShM batteries before settling down again, casting their multispectral camouflage over the equipment. Upon a small respite, perspiring in the hot tropical climate, Ruslan Stepanenko sat with a few of his fellow WURCo. associates and one rebel acquaintance to listen to the jury-rigged walkie-talkie taped to be constantly on, set in a mess kit cup to help amplify the sound.

"Supplies are low, most defenses wiped out by naval artillery. Our airfields are empty. We need support, and we need it now!'

Ruslan, keeping his attention fixed on the radio, took a long draw from the tepid water of his flask. WURCo. support hadn't gotten to the force in the Kupferlands in time, and now their people were suffering from it. They were too far away to be helped-- although some of their anti-ship missile batteries could reach their location they had to conserve resources and look out for themselves, lest they follow the same fate.

Looking behind him during a pause in the transmission, Ruslan scanned the dusty plain of the atoll until his eyes reached the shore. The next shipment of supplies from WURCo., still utilizing inconspicuous civilian vessels, would arrive in a couple of hours. From his offshore liaison, Stepanenko knew that the next shipment would focus on more anti-ship missiles, MANPADs, anti-tank weapons, extra SAM munitions, and machine guns-- all the materials they would need to defend the barrier reef of Richting and make it a rightful pain to rid any resistance.

Later that day, most of the rebels were ordered to pull back to the capital and fortify that location amongst the civilians while the rest were concealed in disparate outposts that coordinate machine-gun teams, air defense systems, and anti-ship missile batteries. The Kupferlands might fall, but with a steady source of supplies, they could possibly manage to prolong the conflict to unacceptable costs for pro-government forces. That was the best-case scenario-- but that was still far-off. For now, the rebels had to dig their heels in and avoid making mistakes.

OOC: 180km range missile outrange boolet, btw. So does 19 km missile. And 15km missile. And if you wanted to get closer before using the fighter's autocannons, you'd run into this, and unlikely many would make it out unscathed.

A few of the Zarnicovian fighters had strayed too close, apparently attempting some form of close-air support with their autocannons-- however, the 5P103 had bigger ones, and by the time these harassing aircraft, or what was left of them, pulled away from concentrated 30mm fire from twenty separate short-range systems, anti-radiation missiles began to streak in from the horizon-- no doubt targeting the stronger emissions of the "Maslowski" 5P149's radars. The 5P103, finally, after two separate engagements, was in its element. A Klyuvka-1250 missile popped up from one "Urs Negru"'s turret, ignited and tilted towards its target, and intercepted the first ARM sent by the Zarnicovians, 8 kilometers away from the island. However, several of the 5P103's systems were depleted-- allowing one to strike a Yanychar TM-1049 FCR, and another to topple the high radio-signal emitting target of the city's radio station.

And just like that, the radio in the mess-kit cup of Ruslan Stepanenko cut off its transmission, mid-sentence, and the voices from the Kupferlands were silent.

“I would like to make it abundantly clear to the international community that these nationalists are a minority in the colonies. Every 2 years, we hold a colonial independence referendum in the colonies, ever since 1955. Most of our island colonies fell away with that method, but the Kupferlands and the Richting Atoll have not. In the 2020 referendum for the Kupferlands and the Richting Atoll, the vote was 64% Yes, 36% No. These terrorists are violent separatists who are trying to subvert the will of the people of the Kupferlands and the Richting Atoll by rebelling against the results of a free, fair, and democratic referendum.”

President Kurt Hahn would deliver a rebuke to the Cossack leader’s speech.

A group of specialized minesweeper ships would go through the Suez Canal, escorted by 5 destroyers. Fleet Admiral John Mederow would guide the minesweepers through the canal aboard the TD Bavaria, when he received a radio call from Vice Admiral Flynn in the Kupferlands.
“Fleet Admiral Mederow. Have you crossed the Suez yet?” the Vice Admiral would question.
“We have nearly exited the Canal now, Vice Admiral. We should arrive in the Kupferlands in a few days.”
“Excellent.”

Task Force Green, Somewhere off the coast of the Kupferlands

The infantry carried aboard Task Force Green had been promised adventure, and got none of it. A landing needed air support, and rebel batteries shot down any squadron that got in their way. The most activity they got was a jog around the carrier, and most of their time was spent playing poker below deck. The boredom was killing them. The Kupferlands were well fortified but under equipped, and were being propped up by SAM batteries So a solution was devised, if Task Force Green could destroy the batteries, the could shut down the rebellion once and for all. Ottawa Squadron would be really angry that their blackjack game had been interrupted, but it was the only way they could clear a path for a naval invasion.

The Kupferlands were well fortified but under equipped, and were being propped up by weapons from Wurco. So a solution was devised, if Task Force Green could destroy the weapons, the could shut down the rebellion once and for all. Ottawa Squadron would be really angry that their blackjack game had been interrupted, but it was the only way they could clear a path for a naval invasion.

(OOC: The weapons were already dealt with via naval bombardment. The only thing stopping a naval invasion is mines around the Kupferlands, and having to wait for minesweepers to get there.)

"Yes, understood commander."
"Set sail men, we are going to Richting Atoll"

Following Her Majesty, the Empress's support for Trenaka, the fleet that is active in the area, 27th destroyer flotilla are tasked to give naval support for Trenakan and its allies on their campaign in Richting Atoll. Along with their journey is the 41st infantry battalion, specializing in jungle warfare hopefully will help relieve stress on allied troops in the Atoll. Bayinese troops are estimated to arrive by tomorrow morning.

To the honourable high command of Trenakan armed forces, I am writing this letter to express our support and assistance in defending your colony. We have sent an elite group consisting of 4000 men including naval and aerial support. I hope our troops could help the allied forces on their campaign push deep into the atoll and crush the rebels once and for all.

Trenaka wrote:“I would like to make it abundantly clear to the international community that these nationalists are a minority in the colonies.

"Be assured I mean no disrespect, but every time the islanders vote in favor of their subjugation at the hands of the Trenakans they are let down by the processes that make up your government-- they receive no meaningful representation, as they will always be a minority in any form of legislature. They will always be neglected save for their resources, which the Trenakans thieve from their lands at the expense of their livelihoods, and no representative from Trenaka will ever fight for their interests. This political uprising has been a long time coming, and unless your nation wishes only to kick the can down the road, the Federal Republic urges you to wave off your assault on your own citizens and let them be free." -- Vadimir Bezukhov.

Trenaka wrote:(OOC: The weapons were already dealt with via naval bombardment. The only thing stopping a naval invasion is mines around the Kupferlands, and having to wait for minesweepers to get there.)

OOC: Also important to note that no weapons from WURCo. reached the Kupferlands in time. We seem to keep mixing these islands up. Both islands have been mined, but only the Richting Atoll receives steady supplies from WURCo. All WURCo. operatives (upwards of 600 individuals) are also concentrated on the Richting Atoll.

I think it's also not unreasonable to just state that the entire premise about mines and minesweepers was just Svenska metagaming. There was no giveaway that we had submarines in the area, no giveaway that we had mined anything, and since you guys were monitoring the surface (presumably) there's not even a chance that you could think that some fishing trawler of the rebels dropped mines. The entire point of mines is that you can't see them until you're too late, and you never know if they're there or not. So please, for common decency, as this is only reasonable and incredibly unfair since this is already 1v12, cast away all this nonsense unless you can find an actual reason. LIke, after you FIND the mines, not just have a sixth sense that what your friend (who also meditates and is capable of astral projection and temporary omniscience) briefly told you is true.

WURCo. had not spared any expense with the defense of the Richting Atoll-- after all, the Federal Republic was footing the bill. To this end, the first shipment's worth of equipment included a total of 15 "Marzanna" PRVD-808 mobile land-based batteries upon five separate vehicles-- and why the second shipment aboard the SS Bandyt, rushed and stocked with rifles, machineguns, anti-tank guided missiles, and food and water purification devices, also included a plethora of additional "Marzanna" anti-ship cruise missiles.

The green and dusty tan flecks of the Ustinov Pattern multispectral camouflage was pulled off a mobile battery-- no more than a truck with a trailer launch unit-- and three soldiers filed into the interior of the truck while one remained in the driver's compartment. These, rather than the skilled WURCo. agents that operated it beforehand, were trained rebels that had been allotted some trust by their overseers, armed with foreign rifles and imported easy-to-make coffee. The rebels pulled up devices and scanned the screens, plotting a course for a munition using satellite imagery. Soon, the area of the truck was cleared and that was when they gave the clearance to launch.

The "Marzanna" left a whitish plume of smoke and dust as it raced forward, initially gaining some altitude before gliding some eight meters above the water. This sea-skimming technique was a tried-and-true way to get the jump on an enemy vessel-- for most couldn't see surface targets out beyond 19 kilometers, tops. This, combined with the angular stealth composite skin of the missile greatly reduced the detection chance within the radar horizon-- giving the "Marzanna" a considerable advantage over any other anti-ship munition. This AShM battery fired all of its stores, propelling three stealth-clad, sea-skimming anti-ship missiles at high subsonic speeds at Bayinese destroyers, sailing as part of an escort some 200 kilometers away.

After firing, the battery pulled out and returned to the city to rearm. The other batteries remaining concealed, waiting for their opportunity to strike.

It was the first time they had actually had the time to sit down and communicate, face-to-face. Ruslan Stepanenko sat among the junior operatives in the dilapidated press room of the city hall, while the commanding specialists sat in a discussion table upon the stage. There, underneath the holed rafters and chalk-covered seats of the ruin, all the junior operatives of WURCo. sat quiet like good employees and let their superiors do the talking.

"We've got Bayinese bearing down on us, and there's no telling when the Svenskans and Trenakans will finish up in the Kupferlands. We've either got to unbuckle and get out of the moving car before it's too late, or raise the ante and make a leap I don't think the execs in the mother country will approve of." Said the most senior specialist-- Vadym Zakharchuk, a former federal employee at the Department of War.

"We can't leave now-- we're in too deep. We try to retreat-- boom, they shoot us as we flee, and WURCo. suffers its biggest loss in quarters, dozens of quarters. We'd lose everything-- the money we dumped into arms, the missiles, and if we can't pull off with at least one micronation in our debt the exec's going to have our heads." Said Havrylo Polyakov, the perhaps most experienced military man among the group-- although Ruslan wasn't certain whether he was still in the employ of the military or WURCo.

"Well, I say we dig in and last as long as we can-- maybe by that time the Feds will figure something out, negotiate a peace treaty, maybe even find a way to extract us. And we'd inflict lots of losses on the pro-gov forces, making our stay here worth something." Yakiv Sydorenko, the greenest corporate transfer, said.

"So it seems we're decided. We'll need to send a report to corporate about this decision, and make sure we make the necessary preparations to carry out that decision here. Understood?" Zakharchuk said, half-rising from his seat.

"Put lookouts and concealed fortifications on all the beachfronts, dig and conceal machine-gun nests and anti-tank positions, keep most of our air defenses in passive modes only. Sound good?"

"Aye."

"Agreed."

The group broke apart, and the single moment of stillness among the WURCo. operatives in the Richting Atoll was shattered and returned to its normal pace of a dead sprint.

OOC: I kinda agree with the minesweeper part. Void my previous actions regarding mines/minesweeping.

IC:
“The federal government has little to no say in the running of the colonies, with the exceptions of lucrative trade deals. The colonies each have their own elected Colonial Assemblies and elected Colonial Governors, who manage the colonies. Unlike regular Trenakans, those who live in the colonies are ineligible for the draft, and only join the military via volunteering. We make sure to regulate the oil and mining companies in the colonies to ensure a standard of life equal to that in mainland Trenaka, and colonists receive the same federal unemployment benefits, welfare, public healthcare, free university schooling, etc. that mainlanders get. Our nation realized long ago that the only way to hold onto at least some colonies was to give them those rights.” Kurt Hahn would issue another rebuke to the Cossacks.

OOC: I might start the naval invasion of the Kupferlands soon.

Sorry I'm late!

Postby Old Tanokiana » Mon Jan 18, 2021 9:45 pm

Tanokian forces are on their way. Sadly, out of 11,000 promised, only 6,000 had arrived near the waters. 5,000 men are on board operating the HMS Harlech, the promised submarine.

"I assume we have received the memo of the key positions of all opposing forces?" Said a Commander Master Chief (abreviated to CMC) David Wicks. His lower ranks assured him that everyone on board had been briefed and the frigates will be arriving shortly to provide beach heads and supporting fire. "Good." He thought, he knew his men were the finest the Navy could ever wish for. Sadly he has no control over the marines, who take orders from General Karam Umberto. The marines have already planned on begin open fire upon the islands, however the suggestion had been rejected and debated between the two high-ups. A land invasion was plotted, and the frigates' thick front and side hulls would be used as cover for all allied forces, while the HMS Harlech watches from below, like a carrier underwater, the dreadnought of the deep. If they were to approach this with utmost care, they'd need to watch out for the Cossacks.

Piikalan paratroopers open the aircrafts rear doors as the pilots alert them of the oncoming SAMS and jump bare the fire as they devote their lives to the emperor they have pledged loyalty as soon as they could talk. While the military transports deploy chaff and flares against the missiles and cut their gliders lose. Causing minimal casualties to the Piikalan paratroopers as they glide towards the sea deploying inflatable life vests to keep them from being dragged under while the gliders land onto the ground bellow.

Rear Admiral Norrington stared at the live-satellite imagery and recon photos in the screens for a while. He watched as the troop movements of the rebels seem to be active and not letting up.

He was going to make the decision of making sure they could never get those troops back up again, he pressed a button next to his ear.

"All Vanguard Class Battleships: Aim Main Batteries at Bearing: 030, Elevation: 9 Degrees, Range 50 Kilometers. All Main Gun Batteries are to switch to full-bombardment mode."

The crew aboard the Atlantic looked at their commanding officer, steeling themselves at the choice of bombarding an entire island until he says to stop.

The Vanguards then aimed their Gauss Cannon Batteries to the specific elevation and degree as is given by the rear admiral. The Auto-Loaders would be filled with shells for the Bombardment.
Norrington looked at the screen one more time before finally looking at the Battleships.

"Enemy Bombardment Fire, All Batteries Execute.."

The Vanguards then opened fire with their Gauss Cannons, the thunderous and continuous firing of the cannons could be heard all throughout the flotilla and even reached as far as 100 Kilometers.

The shells screamed their way to the sky, the velocity of the shells breaking past the hyper-sonic barrier.

Norrington then looked at the live-satellite video feed, then it hit. The Shells have struck their mark and have destroyed multiple rebel held military bases and outposts.

The firing of the guns did not let up, and would continue firing for hours and hours on end. Only Norrington could give the order to stop firing..
