Your nation is a dictatorship. What possible means of kinship do you have with Qassadia's enemies? Sure, TurtleShroom wouldn't see you as an enemy, as they aren't self-righteous about their (creaky) democracy, but th Armistad Pact and many NS nations with democratic structures are probably neo-conservative tier "teach primitives to vote instead of eating the ballots".

Unless you think there is more money to make off of the anti-Qassadian forces, I don't know what you'd have to gain. Qassadian markets are fairly large and they always need new smugglers and sanctions dodgers.

Of course, you might have a reason to hate Qassadia on principle, like TurtleShroom does. Qassadia would be a trading partner of TurtleShroom, and possibly even an ally, if Qassadia only had serfdom and/or was a Vanilla-style, rightist authoritarian government.

TS' hate for Qassadia is beyond slavery, though. Their hate is that they LARP as Christians despite their church and government explicitly rejecting forgiveness and mercy, going so far as to mock the TurtleShroomian Christians for welcoming back people excommunicated for fornication or sodomy if they go up to the pulpit and ask the church's forgiveness.

I guess that their abridged Bible apparently doesn't have "forgive your brother not seven, but seventy times seven times". Or the concepts of forgivness and mercy at all.

The recent assassination of Adlopovna Gazgireyeva deeply concerns the Ministry and the Crown as a signal that enemies of free speech, thought and expression lie in wait to strike at all times. While we neither agree or disagree with Mrs. Gazgireyeva's lifestyle choices, the brazen murder of her wife and children in addition to her is a moral outrage. On the topic of moral outrage, the Ministry wishes to remind the more vocal signatories to the Amistad Declaration that the Holy Kingdom of Cassadia is a legitimate, sovereign state, the Crown recognizes it as such, and that the Holy Kingdom has the right to conduct its affairs as it sees fit including engaging in the practice of slavery.

While the Crown unequivocally condemns said practice, it views the Amistad Declaration as a self-congratulatory power play that infringes upon the rights of legitimate states. In conclusion, the Ministry and Crown hereby call for calm on all sides of this brewing conflict, state that the Empire will remain neutral if said conflict escalates into a military situation but will not hesitate to defend herself against foreign aggression if necessary, and state that the Empire will be willing to host diplomatic negotiations if neutral ground is required.

I don't really care about dictatorship? Really, I sort of AM one. Kind of. The Prussian-Polish gov just here to evacuate a 16 year old girl. What it's citizens do and where they volunteer, though...is a different matter.

Cassadian markets are large, but Amistad markets are far larger, over the table, less risky, and they have better tech

Personally although Lauzanne's people dislike dictators, at least they're not outright slavers. Hell, Langenia might have thought Caassadia was misunderstood on the surface, but once they got proper intel and briefing, Nicholas Furia (I hope I got the name right) might have second thoughts.
