Bashir got up and went to speak.
“Salaamalaikum. I’m Bashir, and I’m Mustafa’s cousin. We grew up together, Mustafa, Soraya and I. We watched movies together, and Soraya and I got Mustafa in trouble for stuff we did together.”
The audience members laughed lightly.
“And I couldn’t ask for a better cousin. He was kind and true. Honest. He’d never let you down, and if you let him down, he’d forgive you. He made you want to be a better Muslim, a better Christian, a better Jew, a better Hindu or whatever. He wished peace even on his enemies. And even though he’s gone, he will live on here,” he said, pointing to his chest. “We will pass his memory down to the next generation. As Mustafa said when he was about to be executed by Communists earlier this year, ‘There are those who will never forget.’
As-salaamalaikum.”
He sat down as the crowd applauded.

Ali, Mustafa’s father, went up to speak with his wife next to him.
“Salaamu Alaykum

Mustafa was my son. And I loved him with all my heart. It’s hard to believe he’s gone. I never thought I’d have to bury my own son. He was a good man, and throughout his whole life, a good son.
Sometimes, I was too hard on him as a child. I know that. But I look at the man he became, and realize in spite of those mistakes, Allah carried him through. He prayed salah five times a day, including sunnah and tahajjud. His tajweed was a amazing, and he had a Qur’an verse for every situation. A bit of a smart aleck, but not on purpose: that was just the way he was. He made us proud. And had he settled down with one of the many women he ignored who chased him around, perhaps he would even have children, who undoubtedly would have been proud to have him as their father.
Salaam.”

Nura then went up to speak. Seeing her approach the speaking area, some people began to leave the mosque.
“S-salaam walaikum. I’m Nura. Mustafa was going to be my cousin-in law, but due to our age difference, I called him ‘Uncle’. Yet he was like a second father to me. He trained me and taught me and helped me. I confided in him and felt peace when I was with him. I was there when one of the people responsible for his martyrdom was brought to justice. And I will not rest until all responsible meet the same fate.

Allah Hafiz.”

She sat down between Khadijah and Nevine.

As the ceremony continued and the clock ticked the sun would be going down soon. He thought of the caretaker. The mausoleum in his words was cursed. The bird also stared at him as well. What could it all mean. After the ceremony they would find Davud’s grave and hopefully find the answers they needed.

Finally, the funeral procession made its way to the cemetery. The coffin was laid inside the grave, and Soraya, Bashir, Nura, Ali, Tala and some of the rest of Mustafa’s relatives poured the pile of soil they had in their hands onto it. Then, a couple men filled the grave. It was done. Mustafa had been laid to rest.

Scipio was brimming with happiness. Not for Mustafa, but the fact that the civil war seemed so close to ending. Only a week or two had passed

The Sultan his wife and Dr. Alton looked on. Soon they would find the grave of Davud. Perhaps they could find the fakir too. Either way it would have to wait. The family would have to read the will and go from there.

Mustafa’s Will

Postby -Insaanistan- » Wed Dec 02, 2020 8:20 pm

بِسمِ أللَّهِ آلرَحمَان آلرَحِيم
If this is being read aloud, then I have passed on. I pray that my passing was in my sleep or while reading Qur’ân peacefully at the age of 99 or 100.
Without further ado, here is my will:
Granted I have children, each of them is to receive 3,000,000 Dinars.
My father I give 5,000,000 Dinars
My mother I give 6,000,000 (sorry, baba)
My cousin Bashir I give control over my gold.
My cousin Junaid I give 4,000,000 Dinars.
My cousin Halima I give 4,000,000 Dinars.
Soraya Khan I give my doctors offices around the world, and the homes I own around them.
Nura Khan I give the dagger of Ābdur-Rahman, gifted to me by Nicolas Furia.
Nicolas Furia I give my silver.
Sipah Silar Ibrahim I give back the dagger he gave me, as well as my Qur’ân manuscripts dating back to when Islam first came to Hausaland, and the Sufi poetry I have collected over the years.
Shauzia Khan I give my silk.
Sultan Farhan I give my oil money.
My cousin Mahmud I give the pistol of Ūmar al-Mukhtar, along with 3,000,000 Dinars
Tianshi I give my expensive prayer mats
Shiraz Khan I give my dictionary of English and Urdu, and a copy of ‘Out of My Mind’.
The rest of my fortune must go to some sort of sadaqa and zakat, or for saving for my children or my family members’ children.
If I have left anyone out of my will by mistake, then Allah forgive me, and let my family decide what to give them.
And finally, if I have a wife, she already knows what I give her.

“ We will” The Sultana said.
“Hopefully they figure out who launched first.” Dr. Alton said. “Speaking of which if someone launches a nuclear missile doesn’t that result in all nuclear capable nations launching their weapons.” The Sultan said. In a way he was lucky. His world decided not to build nuclear bombs. After the Democratic Assembly ordered the Jamesian Republic to stop their nuclear tests in 1954. The Nuclear Charter signed by participating nations in 1957 made sure all nuclear development would be used for energy purposes.

“Ismail, you didn’t cry or really show any emotion the whole funeral. Why?” asked Soraya.
“Why should I?” asked Ismail.
“Mustafa just died!” Bashir cried incredulously. “And you can’t muster even one tear?”
“Mustafa isn’t that important,” Ismail retorted.
“Isn’t that important?” repeated Soraya. “The President of Ghana, President of Nigeria, President of Iran, and President-elect of America all tweeted in his honor!”
“And why should I care? I’m not one of them.”
“He died fighting so you could live and you can’t show him any respect?” Nura asked.
“He chose to go to Somalia, with no protection at that. You tried to warn him not to, but he refused. To think a 16-year old girl made a better choice than the ‘sultan’ says a lot about him.”
Nura growled at Ismail.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” he warned.
“Why is that?”
“Because,” he said, “It has been confirmed to me your are in fact not a normal person. You have... abilities, is what we’ll say. Attacking me won’t help with the public opinion of you, will it?”
“I,” began Nura. “Ugh! I hate you.”
“I know,” he said. “Toodles! I have to get back to Langenia. Back to doing the job you couldn’t do.”
As he walked away, Nura yelled at him “There’s a reason you weren’t in his will!”
