Mustafa ibn Sina Abu Jamal’s Funeral [IC/READ OP]

John Leswig had traveled behind the family to the mosque, respecting local customs best he could, but he didn't join in prayer as Hopal was an officially Atheist country and it was expected of government officials that they resemble government messaging. John cried during the speeches being reminded of why they were hear, to remember a remarkable man who had passed on.

“Would you like to speak?” Fazluddin, Soraya’s brother, asked John.

The Sultana hugged back and consoled Nura. “ I‘ll be alright dear. It’s just a few years I’m fine.” She said.

“I haven’t really let it sink in until now. He’s gone. He’s gone and not coming back.”

“ I know but you will see him again some day.” She said.

"My friends, we have lost, a true statesman, and a good friend. Today we gather in gather in the country that he so dedicated himself to, and the country which he loved. He gave his blood, sweat, and tears, to his nation, and fought for it until the very end. He worked tirelessly for his nation, sometimes at his detriment. His sacrifice to his nation will never be forgotten, we hold him near to our heart, as a good man, who always gave his best. I never got to know him personally, but I know that he was a good man, he fought for peace, equality, liberty. His accomplishments and ideals, trumped his failures, and his vision will live on. Many will follow in his path, but no one will achieve what he achieve, there will be good leaders, but there will never quite be anyone like Mustafa."

I felt as though I knew him for a thousand lifetimes. I believe given time our friendship would have grown. Perhaps though in another lifetime it will. Life never goes the way we expect though. Here is a poem that I found by Robert Frost:
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
That’s all I had to say. Thank you all. Once again I give my condolences.

Scipio had been the next to speak. He had pages of his speech. He took them up, until a gust blew a couple from his hands. He caught them, but it was disorganized. He tried to look for the order, but just said whatever and threw them behind him. He then began.
"When I was in training to be an officer, they always told me how a leader must be strong and forceful, To never give ground in what you believe in. But in my last deployment to this wonderful country, I learned the other part of leadership that cannot be taught. I saw how Mustafa lead, not with forcefulness, but with compassion. He helped the weak. He stood up to the strong and was agreat leader. It was an honor to serve near him. And I will never stop until Isaanistan is free again in his honor." he then went to sit back down

Hear the voices of all Antartican troops on the ground, Pilots in the sky and sailors at the coast, we pay our grevinaces, but it is us who shall have the final victory, for they may have won the battle. But they have not won the war!

Citizens of isaanistan, we promise you, as commanders of the people's army of New Antarctic, by the dawn of the new year, you shall have your nation back!"

Soraya walked up to the podium from the women’s section.
“Salaam walaikum wa rahmatallah. You all know me by now. I’m the de facto Sultana of Insaanistan. But more than that, I’m Mustafa’s best friend,” she said, something which made Bashir frown.
“He was an amazing person and a good friend. He believed in Allah and followed the Prophet (pbuh). He was a hafiz and a muhadith. He gave zakat and sadaqah to the poor. He believed in freedom and democracy. And he was willing to go to war, with only as much protection as a regular soldier, to defend that democracy. And for that, he was martyred. May Allah give him the highest level of Jannah. And may we all meet him there, inshallah. And as those before me mentioned, let us not let his death be in vain. Let us continue his legacy, in Insaanistan and the world. And let us get our county back from those who took him away from us. Allah Hafiz.”
She went back and sat down amidst the applause.
