Calling the Bluff [Attn. Arivada]

Postby Lokorcia » Sun Jun 28, 2009 1:08 pm

Image

Official Communique from the Grand Senate of the Amethyst Republic
"For the glory of the gods is with those who earn it."

To the nation of Arivada, and to the nations of the world whom the following concerns.

It has come to our attention that you [Arivada] are parading around a massive army, far more than one could think a nation of your size could handle.
Furthermore, you have began to test nuclear missiles with the help of Comaack. The fact that Comaack is running a nuclear testing facility does not bother us [The Amethyst Republic of Lokorcia], because it does not affect us, and it is not a directly aggressive move.
To be quite frank, your supposedly massive army, the training of said army, the recruitment of a foreign legion, and your new nuclear arsenal frighten us, as we cannot discern whether or not you will use these to destroy another sovereign nation.
Because of this, we demand the following:

-You provide evidence of the size of your army, or release the true size of your army
-You sign a nonaggression pact
-You destroy your nuclear arsenal, sign a treaty disallowing the use of your nuclear weapons, stop the nuclear testing, or be subjected to having foreign missile ships watching you at all times
-If necessary, you replace your government
-[OoC; You report to NS Trainers and go under the guidance of a far more experienced RPer.]

May the gods shine down upon you who are blessed, and smite you who are not.

With hope,
The Grand Senate of the Amethyst Republic

Arivada, I for one think people may be a bit too hard on you. All I can do is refer you to the NSTrainers and hope for the best.

Note-I would really recommend that you go there, otherwise you'll get treated like dirt by the really experienced Rpers. Trust me, you don't want that.

(OOC: Why not follow them? You're military is too big, you don't need nukes, and you still don't know how to RP properly, and he doesn't want to be attacked by you. No one need follow them but you, and I suggest you do it, because I know a lot of us are simply sick and tired of watching you godmode and make one line posts. You need help, and he's trying to help you.

And yeah, it is a bluff, because there is no possible way you have that many troops.)

OOC: He's trying to help you. If you want more credibility in the eyes of other nations, you should make your arny size more reasonable. No navy has more than a thousand ships. I don't even know if the US Navy has over 150. No one wants to stat a war, just help.

(OOC: In NS you can have several hundred ships but only if you have a budget and people to crew them. Unfortunately Arivada, you don't have the proper budget or population for such things. Your military is too large for your country, and you need to learn how to RP. Lokorcia did want tell you about the trainers and you NEED to go do it.)

[OoC; My demands are quite reasonable, and I honestly don't care if I tick you off.
You are one of the prime examples of noobs who refuse to learn how to RP, even if someone tries do it IC.
Furthermore, the U.S. navy has around 300 ships. The cost to buy and maintain 2,000 ships would be massive.
Leaving you with either no government, or cheap wooden boats. It is impossible. It would be akin to me throwing magical fireballs with the power of 10,000 nukes at various countries.
It is quite easy just to post more reasonable or realistic numbers.
Most of the 'demands' are quite reasonable. Signing a nonaggression pact? I'm beginning to wonder if you even know what that is.
In case you don't, it's an agreement that you do not attack any other nations. Well, something similar to that.
Someone with a tad more experience should be able to expand on it.

And by jove, spell my name right! Lockria is wrong. It's Lokorcia, thank you very much.
If you continue to refuse to learn to RP I'll be forced to post an IC declaration of war.

OOC: The number of ships and aircraft you maintain are reasonable for your size and economic strength (after numerous RIFs the U.S. presently maintains approximately 500 vessels, including logistics ships, mine sweepers, etc.) ... it's the number of personnel in your Army and Navy that are causing problems. Realistically, you could cut your armed forces down to 1% of your population, still maintain the same number of warships and aircraft, and have a reasonably sized army that no one would be able to complain about.

As for Lokorica, as he's already admitted that's a puppet account, pushing his buttons might result in a very nasty surprise for your nation.

Arivada, I would suggest taking Comorostans' advice: you'd be amazed what a few guidlines and some practice with them can do for your RP'ing. I sucked at the beginning (and nearly started a war with a bunch of bigger, stronger nations because I did exactly what you're doing, by baiting with a larger military than is possible), but after reading the stickies and getting some practice with more experienced players, my RP's improved a lot. And people will respect you more for it.

And, as I posted in your 'foreign legion' thread, make the military numbers a bit more reasonable. I pointed out the logical flaws in it before.
