Frederik V, King of Ahvaland passed away at the age of 50. A young age for a king but the cancer had robbed him of more time on Earth. The King’s rule was only 10 years but at the time, no one knew about the cancer until the second year when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, which then was discovered to be inoperative. Now, his daughter, Mikaela Frederikke, was to be Queen of Ahvaland at the age of 22. The nation was busy preparing for a funeral, and a new Queen. She visited her father body before heading to the Parliament were she was to be named Queen. Her husband, Karl Rudolf, who she married at 20 accompany her to the ceremony at the Parliament.
The Parliament building was busy with the members of Parliament, the Church, and other guests taking their seats. The still Princess entered the building nervous at of course of what was to come. The pastor delivered his speech to the nation.
"Here we are to morn the loss of our King, and the celebration the crowning of a Queen to our nation. King Frederik was fair man and a guide to our nation during his small reign, cut short by an illness. His daughter, the Princess shall be placed upon a throne, that her ancestors sat upon for ages and guided this land from conflict to peace. May she rule with honor and light during her reign. May God bless this moment as we send one monarch to His Kingdom and ask Him to bless another rule."
The short speech was all that needed to be said, she would have the big one as she walked to the sound of claps as she bow to the pastor as a sign of allegiance to God as the crown that has been in her family since 100 AD where the Kingdom was created on the islands. The crown placed oh her head and the blessing by the pastor, she rise as Queen of her people and her nation. Now she must give her speech to the nation as its Head of State.
"Countrymen, Ahvalanders. I shall rule this land like my father did and his fathers did. I shall insure that peace and prosperity rule this land and that our freedoms and rights be defended from threat internal and external. My father's reign was short but he reign with fairness. He taught me the values that I know, that all of mankind is equal and that we have an equal chance at everything and that we may lose, but we do it again until we reach what we want. I shall rule with this fairness and if needed led this nation through any hardship that it may come across. The Kingdom has lasted for ages with the principle of equality and hard work for its people.
Also there is the question of reform of the government. The people have shown interest in the possibility of some of the Crown's power be given to the Prime Minister. I and the Prime Minister shall look into this, and see what powers may be granted to the Prime Minister. Also is the question of our fleets and forces which are not as advanced as many nations. My father started to look into new technology for our forces and I shall continue that. The people want more choices in their economy, privatization of the economy and the deregulation of some industries have brought more wealth to the nation, I shall continue the freeing of the economy so the people can have more choices. Socially, we're good, no need to discuss there. Now that lay down an outline of my rule, let us morn my father and began a new reign in our lands."
The ceremony was a success, a new Queen leaves for the Palace and the Parliament prepares for business. Ahvaland now begins a new age into the future.
