I’m making this thread to discuss some aspects of the Newark Slave War. There’s been discussion of this in several threads and I’d like to consolidate it into a single thread if nobody objects.
So as I understand the situation, the Newark Aristocracy has essentially started a large-scale slave trade and effectively taunted Amistad nations to ‘do something about it’, and things are now going towards full-scale war. It appears also that there’s some controversy whether this is going to be an MT or FT thread.
So I’d like to make some proposals in the spirit of keeping this organized.
a. I think the thread should be kept in ‘broad NS MT/PMT’. I don’t object to people claiming vast territories or giant populations and I think this should be allowed, but I think we should be keeping this at the level where most Amistad members can meaningfully participate in the thread. (But to be clear, if it were an FT thread I would certainly call upon my FT allies).
b. We should not use nukes. I don’t object to the use of bioweapons and chemical weapons (at least ones that are restrained by the rules of biology as we know them) because those are actually quite limited in the damage they do, but in my experience the use of nukes, even ‘small’ nukes, quickly devolves.
c. I am participating with the condition that I keep the events ‘canon’ for my nation. If you choose not to do so, we can maybe come to an arrangement that it was an ‘alternate reality version’ of your country or something?
It would be ideal I think to have some kind of clue of who is on what side. If – as seems to be unlikely – there are going to be lots of participants – we can split the RP into several ‘fronts’ that can be RPed out in separate threads.
