Although Kyundao is located on an earth-like planet several light-years from Earth, the country has been building up its military and technological capabilities on land and in space. It is notorious for its persecution of Christians, Muslims and Violetists, although Christianity has been deemed legal on the condition that Christians don't proselytize to Kyundaoan citizens.

Throughout the towns and WA bases on Earth's moon, the Kyundaoan Space Force was cleaning house. By cleaning house, this meant rounding up the WA personnel and exterminating the Muslims and leftists among them. The fact that the WA was forbidden to have a military allowed the Kyundaoans to conduct their mop-up operations without a care in the world.

The WA personnel in one of the bases were thrown into a fairly large room with a Kyundaoan soldier at the doorway, with ten other Kyundaoans behind him just in case. Their Muslim and leftist compatriots had just been strangled to death in front of them mere moments earlier. Another soldier walked to a secluded enough area with his commanding officer for future orders.

Officer: Send them back to Earth. We already got this moon under total control.

Soldier: It will be done sir.

The Kyundaoan Space Force prepared a shuttle pretty quickly and the remaining WA personnel were escorted to it in standard space suits. One by one, they were loaded into the shuttle. As soon as the last one got in, the shuttle doors were shut. The Kyundaoan soldiers cleared the takeoff/landing platform and the shuttle lifted off, making its way to Earth.

The detonation, which destroyed much of the town and its surrounding area, was a shocking "bloody nose" strike on the mighty British Empire, an empire that until that point in time had never envisioned the existence of a civilisation more powerful and advanced than it.

Rather than capitulate to such a mighty alien force, however, the deranged King George IV ordered a retaliatory strike against the "flying objects" seen in the Earth's atmosphere by Imperial astronomers. Reports have now come from London, Liverpool, Dublin, New York, Columbia, Boston, Ontario, Toronto, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bombay, Hyderabad, Yangon, Singapore, Johore, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Cairo, Kampala, Suez, Tripoli, Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra, and Dar es Salaam, among other major cities within the Empire, of soldiers aiming cannons and muskets towards the sky, preparing for "an attack from the heavens". The Assembly held an emergency meeting to discuss the colony's response to the Kyundaoan invasion. The Assemblymen agreed that they could not allow these foreigners to impose themselves on the free and sovereign people of New New Caelondia. Governor Douglas Crater was given authorization to call out the Militia. Governor Crater wanted to raise two regiments of regulars for the defense of the colony, but the Assembly balked at the expense.

Mobilization orders were sent out to the two other domed cities of the colony, Libertyville and New Horizon, as well as the outlying hydroponic farms. All able and eligible men and women between the ages of 18 and 45 were ordered to muster. The farmers brought their own weapons, which they used in peacetime to hunt wild moon game and defend their farms, while the city folks would have to be armed from government arsenals.

Any Kyundaoans that attempted to encroach on the borders of New New Caelondia would be fired on by the Militia and the Shore Batteries, which were hypervelocity cannons emplaced to defend the dome cities.
