Northumbrian Independence protests(POST-MT/invite-only)

Set in 2047, Britain is run by the Prime Minister, Air Commodore-Sir Alexander Khan, KG, CBE, MP and ruled by King Charles III.
Britain is undertaking a war in the Congo and many in Northumbria are pushing for independence.

A 21 year old Scots Guardsmen walks into a pub, "I'd like some craft beer and steak please, cutie" ,he says to a barmaid.

A stage has been erected at Grey’s Monument, the usual location of protests in Newcastle. This protest, however, will be larger than all the protests before it. Iraq War? Black Lives Matter and anti-Black Lives Matter? They could barely fill the area around the monument. The Northumbrian people are gathered around for miles, waiting to hear Ashleigh speak either in person or on a screen depending on how close they are.

Ashleigh’s helicopter arrives. It circles the monument twice, cutting off the head of Earl Grey with its blades. The head bounces off and crushes a member of the crowd. Nobody notices, Ashleigh’s imminent arrival being too mesmerising for anything else to distract them. Not even the person crushed by the head notices. Finally, the helicopter lands next to the stage in a makeshift landing pad. Ashleigh gets out and walks to the stage. He picks up the microphone.

“Uh, testing…”

The crowds cheer for miles around.

The police officers at the crowd (including police officers from the Metropolitan Police and Durham Police as well as the local Northumbrian Police) make sure the journalists are safe, protestors have space to safely move and the crowds stay peaceful, all the while offering people bottles of water.
The Army are on stanby increase the crowds get unmanageable but Britain supports the freedom of speech of people to protest for independence.

" 'Scuse me, got your work-papers, lads?" he asks in a Geordie accent as unemployed young men are often drafted in the Army.

OOC: A high proportion of soldiers in real life are recruited from Newcastle and he's a Sergeant so would have been there a while.

OOC: Some take cars, some take buses. Some pay for taxis.
Also Khan's Labour government built more railways and an Anti-Iraq war protest in London had up to 1 million people.
Besides some of them are soldiers who live in, or are stationed in, the area.

"Yes I am", she says and smiles at him in a mildly flirtatious manner.

"Employment and educational outcomes in the North have increased under Khan why do you think the demand for independence is more now?" asks the reporter.

"Because all the jobs are at coffee shops," says Ashleigh. "We want REAL jobs," he says.

"Skilled construction work has grown by 30.54% since 2019 whilst professional jobs in healthcare have grown by 50.5% " the reporter points out
