Air raid sirens begin to wail across Socialist Macronesia.

Everyone knew the relationship between SoMac and Carthagenia had deteriorated. But it had dropped all too far. In response to President Ross "holding F7 the movie 3" hostage until HM Christophe II had apologized for not liking Clue, Chris had told John to "prepare for war."

In an instant all citizens were evacuated, and martial law put in place. Somewhat controversially, New Carthagenian tourists were not being allowed to leave.

Ross claimed that Chris had started it. Chris claimed that Ross started it. All were bracing for war. Nuclear war.

This is based on the ongoing NC elections, and our nation's... controversial actions. I am god of this thread, but I will try not to abuse it. If you want to take sides, TG me and I'll let you in. Thank you.

DAY 1

HM The King has invoked a state of emergency in the nation, and has rallied the most noble people of New Carthagea to fight against the "socialist filth" of SocMac.

Thousands of men and women have been drafted into the military, forces in Tunisia have been largely brought back home, and the nukes are being cleaned and brought to tip-top condition as we speak.

The game is on.

"What would be the effects of an air-dropped munition?"

"Probably nothing, the strain is quite resilient. I doubt it would lose any effectiveness. Are you trying to weaponize it?"

"It would be a last ditch effort. And with COVID I doubt anyone would even notice."

"But that leads to a problem: how are you going to cover it up if it fails?"

"The canisters are compressed heavily. Even a tiny charge would blow them. So we put about 50 grams of high explosives on each. Not enough to blow the sample up, but enough to breach it."

"Alright then. My boys will get on production."

Ross has ordered the preparation of the entire SoMac army, the NP, the Air Force, and HAMMERS. Strategic Missile Command is being activated, but not entirely yet.

ROSS'S STATEMENT
We are the target of a premtive invasion by forces from Empirical Switzerland and New Carthagea. In responce we are activating the entire army. We have set an exclusion zone of 50 miles around us. Anyone who enters the zone will be shot down or sunk.

We have declared a state of emergency across the board, also.

I will not go down in history as the man who ended the world.

As long as we keep GRAIL from coming in and screwing us up, our military can handle them. Our AShW VALV-AS can hold off any subs that try to get near us. Nate, how's Jackknife going?"

"The R&D boys have the drone already built. The samples are entering mainstream production. Dr. Warren is overseeing the program, he told me they're on track to finish. Only remaining problem is the deployment mechanism. They're saying instead of deploying the samples where they want, it's being affected by the wind. We can deploy it later for greater accuracy, but that leaves us vulnerable to missiles and CIWS."

"CIWS would just breach the samples anyway, right?"

"I suppose so, but a missile would kill all the samples."

"So what are the odds of failure?"

"One in a hundred."

"And we have how many weapons?"

"So who are the targets?"

"GRAIL HQ is off. Too risky, we'd get absolutely screwed if they caught us. Right now we have both capitols, two on each."

"What would the effects of this be?"

"We can't tell. It could be anything from a few hundred to millions dead. It depends on the accuracy."

"Lastly: what's the cost of each weapon?"

"The initial development will be in the billions, but it shouldn't take long, as the infrastructure has already been designed. After that, we could get down to a few thousands per each weapon, maybe even in the hundreds. No doubt it will cost more to provide safety, but if we had to rush it, there would be no problems."

The Megistian troops of 7 million march down to SocMac where they prepare to enter their enemies, and hopefully destroy. Of course, all nations here can't destroy Megistos. So not much of a deal.

"Yesterday at 8:32 PM Macronesian time, a radiological weapon, otherwise known as a dirty bomb, was detonated in the Highland area of Socialist Macronesia. The weapon has exposed millions to Cesium-137, and the death toll is in the tens of thousands.This particular radioactive sample we believe was produced and then lost by New Carthagea after the construction of their nuclear weapons. After extensive investigation we have determined the attack was carried out by Carthagean militants, who smuggled the sources into the nation and then constructed the weapon with help of disgruntled ex-scientists.

We believe this incident was only carried out due to the nuclear mismanagement by New Carthagea and so we are hereby requesting reparations in excess of N$D2.2 billion in order to decontaminate and rebuild the area, one of Socialist Macronesia's most resource-rich areas.

If Carthagea does not repay damages caused by their own nuclear neglect, we will report them to the World Assembly and motion for their removal from their seat in GRAIL.

And to Empirical Switzerland: we would advise you just stay out of your friend's affairs.
