The Holy State of Eurasia, long thought of as just another plain old dictatorship, has revealed itself to be far more than that.
Previously, it had been almost impossible for any information to leave the secretive state, which implements a policy of completely closed borders and severance of any diplomatic ties with other nations. Just 2 days ago however, one of the first successful Eurasians to escape from the nation was rescued by the police of a neighboring country, following his long arduous trek across the highly fortified and monitored Ural Mountains Border Region. His knowledge of the inner workings of Eurasia due to his former membership in the Secret Police have shed light on the true nature of the enigmatic nation.
The following shocking revelations of the true state of the Holy State has been made clear for the world to see.

Every Crime Is Equal
The Holy State has declared that any crime committed within its borders should be treated the same way, given that the law has been ratified and made to follow strictly God's will, and thus any crime committed is a sin which must be punished.
Therefore, every crime within the nation has been given the same sentence: that of torture before death. This has led to a nation where stealing a loaf of bread may get you 4 days' flogging, before death via stoning.
State enforced poverty
The Holy State has declared that opulence and wealth is a sin against God, and has thus made it a point to ensure no citizen gets wealthier than a certain level of wealth. This is currently restricted to a single household only owning one house, with the allowance of only a few litres of water, a few grams of bread and meat, a few pieces of furniture and a limited amount of luxury items like coffee. Since the only way for individuals to obtain anything at all is through the State Rationing System, the job of enforcing this is made much easier. All of this is enforced by the cruel and merciless state secret police, which exists everywhere in the literal sense. Citizens found hoarding food, or water, or anything beyond their daily limit are sentenced to torture and death; having a few extra bottles of water in your house may as well mean you get burnt at the stake alive.
The State has also removed almost all forms of education, save for Basic Education necessary for basic literacy. No other knowledge apart from literacy and numeracy is taught to the supermajority of the population.
Slavery is legalised
The Holy State has declared that work is what God wants, especially hard work and labour for the glory of the nation. To this end, all industries and resources in the nation have been turned over to the state, and all citizens are officially labourers and workers for the state --- i.e., slaves. Citizens work based on the jobs they have been assigned (something they have little say over) and must meet extremely strict and at times downright impossible quotas per individual, leading to many dying from overwork and over exhaustion. There exists no concept of weekends, although individuals are allowed 4 days of rest per month.
Working conditions are reported to be hellish, with overseers monitoring workers 24/7. The overseers themselves are monitored by members of the State Secret Police, and they are the real people ensuring that no worker steps even a tiny bit out of line. Workers are given almost little to no rest at all. Finally, with little regard for safety or health regulations, workplace deaths from accidents are an everyday sight; from collapsing mines to exploding factories.
Genocidal Mania
The State wishes to see a "purification" of the nation, with all persons deemed as "degenerates" being murdered. Roaming death squads, slave labour camps (barely different from government work camps), death camps and mass destruction of villages and towns are so common, most have become accustomed to it. Particularly targeted are religious minorities, and certain ethnic groups.
Unrestrained Secret Police
Despite such a strict State apparatus, there exist no laws to govern the Secret Police, and therefore members are free to do whatever they please. This has led to the brutal murder and wanton destruction of entire groups of people as well as entire settlements by members of the Secret Police, many of who have questionable mental health records. The number of outright murders, rapes, lootings and acts of terror by the Secret Police are far too many to be counted.
Purge of the Intelligentsia
The state has completely cleansed the academia of any members, replacing them with only the most loyal fanatics. Citizens who are found to be above a certain literacy or intelligence level are almost guaranteed to be sent to court, where death is completely inevitable.
State Eugenics
Citizens are told who and when they are allowed to married or have children; they have absolutely no say in the matter.
A Leader Gone Insane
The unnamed leader of the Holy State is suspected by many to be completely insane; although his identity remains a mystery, rumours of his actions, such as constant self-flagellation and excessive drug usage, have spread across the nation, although those caught spreading the rumours often end up on national television the next day, hanging from the gallows.
No Information In, No Information Out
Only certain citizens are even allowed to own televisions or radios. Most have no newspapers to even keep track of ongoing world events, and very few understand the concept of there being a life outside of Eurasia.
Death Is Inevitable, and the time is known
Every citizen already has their expiration date marked for them since birth, although only the highest ranks of the Secret Police know that. This is because of the leader's belief that each person's due date has already been marked by God, and the schedule must be strictly followed. Thus, every citizen will, if they do not die before their due date, disappear on their supposed date of their death.
