The Conservative Party believes that guns must be strictly regulated in the nation, and should only be in the hands of the police, and the military. Instead of self-defence, increased funding into the police will make the country safer, and more secure.

Alberta Thenorire ( Carthaginian Congress ):

I agree with Mithon on the first part of his stance ; guns must be tightly controlled and must be in the responsible hands of the police and military only. On the other hand, I and my party believe that increased funding in education and welfare will make the country safer ; if not instantly, then surely in the long run.

Question 1: There are 200 constituencies in the country, and eligible votes in each constituency vote for the candidate they wish to be their MP. The system is "First Past The Post", as in the party which gets the most number of votes in a constituency wins the seat's representation. Then, the MPs of the party/coalition which has attained the most number of seats choose their leader as the Prime Minister of the country,

Question 2: No. There are a total of 12 independent candidates running in 10 constituencies across the region, mostly in Corsica, though.

Question 3: The Monarch, unlike other constitutional monarchies of Europe such as the United Kingdom, does play a major role in the decision making process. There have been instances in recent years of use of monarchical authority to pass laws, such as HM's passing of legalisation of same-sex marriage in 2017, overruling the Parliament's decision to not pass the bill.

OOC Questions:
1. The Conservatives, as a whole, tend to believe that the culture and traditions of mainland New Carthagea must be propagated throught out the country, while For Corsica works for the conservation of native Corsican culture and heritage.
2. Although mostly centre-left wing, Sardinia Nation has taken an anti-immigration stance due to the heavy influx of Italian immigrants into the island, and the loss of several thousand jobs of New Carthaginians to them. It has no racist tendencies, but has taken the stance to protect workers' jobs.
3. They are not technically socialist, per se. They believe in reducing dependence on other nations for products, and establish community-owned industries to produce them, as in to establish an autarky. In most other fields, though, they are centrist.
4. The country is NOT a unitary state, it is a federal one. Federalism has been implemented in the country for well over a century, and has shown quite a bit of success in promoting grass-roots governance. Hence, it is espoused by most parties.
