1. Intra-NationState Sovereignty, each "Nation State" meaning your account has full control over anything happening within their own lore, or their own RP borders. This is the default state.
2. Inter-NationState Cooperation, any event that involves two or more NS (NationStates) has to have the approval of both. This also means that if two or more players insist something bizarre happened in their shared lore, then it happened.
Where the first two rules conflict, is how any player can have their NS have highly advanced Fan-Tech/Far Future Tech, trillions of soldiers, infinite resources, thousands of systems, ect ect. This is because of rule #1. Despite this, they can't use these forces on other players or even on agreed upon NPCs that were written or interacted with by other players, because of rule #2
3. Sportsmanship or Rigged Outcome, If two NSes end up in an RP conflict or anything resembling that, the two players either have to agree upon an outcome before hand, or show sportsmanship in their competitive conflict RP. Should there be any breakdown in agreement about what has or hasn't happened, they should get a third party, who mostly doesn't care who wins or is very respected, to be a referee. If they can't get a referee, the conflict instantly has a ceasefire, right before the moment in setting that the two or more players can't agree on what happened or not.
1. I mainly make use of the Traveller setting/RPG tech tree comparison chart to get an understanding where my NS and others are in relation to each other. If you don't like this chart, you can use the tech tree system from GURPS or SWN. I might be willing to accept other charts as well, if they are as grounded or understandable.
Most of the "Star Nations" mine interacts with are TL11-12 on the Traveller System, Just barely into TL 9 for GURPS, and/or TL 4 for SWN.
Btw, it's perfectly fine to have technology be lopsided for your faction. Some of these charts were made decades ago, and they didn't know cybernetics would advance faster then lasers or batteries.
2. If you want to get into a conflict and not just be providing troops or resources, it would really help appearances and how people judge your forces effectiveness, if you at least organize your troops as well as like...40Ks Imperial Guard or GURPS Mass Combat. Bare minimum would be ten man squads, vehicles to ride around in, combined arms (Meaning some tanks, mortars, artillary mixed in with large infantry formations), ect ect
If you want to just copy paste Star-Wars and go from there, do some tweaking, mixing and matching, That is perfectly fine. I would still have stromtroopers/droids have vehicles to get around in, along with having a light tank or ATST every ten or twelve troop carriers.
3. In a lot of settings with lasers, like Star Wars, SWN, 40K, laser-rifles or lasguns are about as effective as "Battle Rifles" firing "sniper rifle" caliber ammo, its just that lasers have better ammunition capacity.
If you don't want to do this, the Traveller system is to have lasers be very very expensive and heavy, but very powerful. I advise you pick one or the other, so we can agree upon what does what to who.
4. Try and have your faction/factions not be good or bad at EVERYTHING, or even 75% of things, if possible. Think about it as if you're a nation in civilization or a faction in an RTS, or even a real life nation. You're going to be good at some things, bad at others, or just average or acceptable in most or all things.
