For decades, North Korea has been ruled by the Kim dynasty. But now, things have changed. Kim Jong-un's futile attempts to wrestle North Korea onto the world stage has earned his country nothing but scorn, disdain, and ridicule. And now, they have led to this: the threat of the collapse of his regime. A group of North Korean soldiers and civilians have rebelled against his rule, in support of modernizing North Korea to become equal to South Korea under a stronger, more efficient ruler than Kim Jong-un, ending the Korean conflict once and for all by invading South Korea immediately after North Korea is reunited under their rule, and ending North Korea's isolationism in order to work with other dictatorships that have turned their countries into world powers. This group is known as the Korean National Government (KNG), is the largest and most powerful of the North Korean rebel groups, and claims to be the legitimate government of North Korea under the rule of the Republican Party of Korea (RPK), backed by Langenia. Its armed wing is the Korean National Forces (KNF). Even worse for Kim Jong-un, he faces plots from the leaders of his own military and security services, he can't simply nuke the rebels without destroying the military forces available to him and the country that he is trying to rule, and he can't leave North Korea to escape a nuclear blast, as no country (currently) will give him sanctuary. Another group has also formed, the Korean Democratic Council (KDC), backed by South Korea, with the objective of bringing democracy to North Korea and reuniting with South Korea peacefully. Its armed wing is the Free Korean Army (FKA). Also participating in the conflict is the Joseon Korean Government (JKG), with the goal of reestablishing the disappeared Korean Empire across all Korea under the rule of the Joseon dynasty. Its armed wing is the Imperial Korean Forces (IKF). Finally, the smallest faction is the Goryeon National Council (GNC), with part of the same goal of the JKG: to reestablish royalist control of Korea, but rather than have it reestablish the Korean Empire led by the Joseon dynasty, reestablish the Kingdom of Goryeo under the rule of the Wang dynasty. Its armed wing is the Royal Goryeon Army (RGA). Civil war is imminent. Who do you support? The North Korean government of Kim Jong-un, who faces the biggest challenge to his power and that of the Kim family of North Korea since the 1950-1953 Korean War, the KNG, dedicated to modernizing Korea under a strong republican ruler, the KDC, attempting to spread democracy, the JKG, restoring royal rule under the Joseon dynasty, or the GNC, restoring royal rule under the Wang dynasty? Already foreign nations intervene. Langenia has initiated Operation Grey Arrow in support of the KNG...

Order of events in North Korea before foreign interventions (this rp takes place in 2020)
- Kim Jong-un restarts North Korean nuclear program and begins a chemical weapons program, leading to very tough sanctions on the country.
- Sanctions, combined with existing poverty in country, lead to a second Great Famine in the country even worse than the famine of the 1990s.
- Dissent spreads. Many people are hunted down by the regime's security services. The prison camps become overcrowded and escapes become more and more common.
- Escapees form underground nonviolent resistance groups. They distribute anti-regime leaflets and propaganda, with the assistance of the South Korean government to pro-democratic nonviolent resistance groups.
- Small-scale protests erupt across the country that are easily quelled by regime secret services.
- The daily large-scale regime-backed protests against US "aggression" are turned against the regime by the nonviolent resistance groups, with protesters chanting "Death to the dictator" or "Death to the weakling" Kim Jong-un instead of "Death to America."
- The anti-regime protesters occupy meeting places across the country. In Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, Kim il-Sung Square is seized by protesters and used for anti-regime rallies. Some protesters are in support of modernizing North Korea to become equal to South Korea under a stronger, more efficient ruler than Kim Jong-un, ending the Korean conflict once and for all by invading South Korea immediately after North Korea is reunited under their rule, and ending North Korea's isolationism in order to work with other dictatorships that have turned their countries into world powers, while others are in support of bringing democracy to North Korea and reuniting with South Korea peacefully.
- The government sends in tanks, armored vehicles, and troops and police officers with live ammunition to evict protesters from Kim il-Sung Square in Pyongyang. The same is done in cities across the country. Protesters are again hunted down. Kim il-Sung Square becomes a second Tiananmen Square, with the same happening across the country. There is much international outrage and indignation.
- Those nonviolent resistance groups that support replacing Kim Jong-un with another strongman unite into a political party: the Republican Party of Korea (RPK). The RPK commits itself to armed struggle against the regime. They head to North Korea's second-largest city Hamhung and declare it their capital until Pyongyang is captured. They form the Korean National Government (KNG), which they claim is the transitional government of the DPRK, and declare that the DPRK is renamed the Socialist Dictator Republic of Korea, or SDRK. The local military forces in Hamhung back their claim and form the nucleus of the KNG's military forces: the Korean National Forces (KNF). The KNF grows in size with Korean People's Army (KPA) defectors, international volunteers, and Langenien mercenaries all joining. The KNG then accepts an offer of support from Langenia.
- The sailors of the Korean People's Army Navy's (KPAN) eastern fleet based in Wonsan defect to the KNG and are accepted into the KNF. This gives the KNF a naval branch, and makes the KNG the only rebel group with naval forces. Some ships remain loyal to the regime and attempt to join the western fleet. Few make it to the other side as they are intercepted and sunk or captured by the South Koreans and Langeniens.
- Those nonviolent resistance groups that want democracy and peaceful reunification of Korea also commit themselves to armed struggle against the regime. They form the Korean Democratic Council (KDC), which they also claim is the transitional government of the DPRK until peaceful reunification. They set up their capital at Kaesong with the support of South Korea. With defecting KPA troops and international volunteers they form the Free Korean Army (FKA).
- The descendants of the Joseon dynasty which once ruled Korea leave their homes in South Korea and found the Joseon Korean Goverment (JKG). They declare their capital at Chongjin: the capital of the refounded Korean Empire. With defecting KPA troops and volunteers from the south they form the Imperial Korean Forces (IKF).
- The descendants of the Wang dynasty which once ruled Korea leave their homes in South Korea and form the Goryeon National Council (GNC). They declare their capital at Sinujiu: the capital of the refounded Kingdom of Goryeo. With defecting KPA troops and volunteers from the south they form the Royal Goryeon Army (RGA).
- Full-scale civil war breaks out.

Admiral Isaiah Williams,Commander in Chief of all American Pere Housh's Armed Forces in the Pacific, was going over reports when his Intelligence Chief,Rear Admiral Mariah Cortez, walks in with a grim look on her face, "Sir,we are receiving reports from our military units in South Korea that North Korea has fallen into a five way Civil War. With nuclear weapons involved, I think it is prudent that we must step in. Though we are a dictatorship ourselves, it is in our best interests to support the Korean Democratic Council who is back by South Korea."

Isaiah nods, "This is very concerning indeed. We must tell Chancellor Jones immediately as this is a very serious situation." He picks up the phone and calls the Chancellor's direct line.

Alexander answers the phone, "Yes Admiral, what can I do for you today?"

Isaiah answered the question immediately, "Well Sir, North Korea has fallen into a civil war. My Intelligence Chief just notified me that it's necessary for us to step in since nuclear weapons are involved and we don't these weapons to fall into the wrong hands. We can support the Korean Democratic Council as it is also backed by South Korea.

Alexander nods his head, "Get our forces moving to South Korea, Admiral Williams. I will issue our support in a official press release.

Official Press Release of The Government of American Pere Housh

It has come to the government of American Pere Housh that North Korea has fallen into civil war. We have decided to officially back the rebel group known as the Korean Democratic Council with both arms,money and the Armed Forces of American Pere Housh. We will be increasing our military presence in South Korea by a considerable amount and will begin launching air strikes against the other rebel groups and the NK government forces.

Months ago Polisian Intelligence had received reports of a possible rebellion happening on North Korean soil, so they had prepared a strike force to either help defend South Korea, or obliterate the Kim Regime. However as it would seem the intelligence was right and had caused Admiral Hadrian Noloshoi and Lieutenant General James Grozniskaya to set sail for the Korean Peninsula. The unit was not large, mainly in hopes that other nations such as the American Pere Housh and other allies to provide a bigger bulk of the forces. However seeing that they were the ones closer to the conflict by distance, it was decided they would be one of the first to set foot on South Korean soil to defend it, and when the time arises, to advance into the north via the 38th Parallel or by sea.

As of the moment men and equipment were being unloaded from the much larger ships and the following transports which now flooded the shipyard and its surrounding waters. Their destination was the DMZ and to fortify it. Premier Cassius Keyman, his generals, political analysts, and diplomats have been estranged to the idea of fortifying the DMZ which could provoke a North Korean response, but seeing that now they were pre-occupied trying to grab a hold of power again, it was much more feasible for now until Phase 2 can be initiated.

"How goes the off loading, General Grozniskaya?" Admiral Noloshoi stares out from the bridge.

"Mobile Artillery units are being off-loaded now. I'm about to head down to go with them to the Parallel." General Grozniskaya grabs a trinket and places it in a suitcase.

"You won't be procuring trains then I assume?" Admiral Noloshoi turns to the general.

"No, it's a relatively short trip to the Parallel. Hopefully we don't cause a traffic incident." General Grozniskaya closes his suitcase and opens the door of the bridge.

"Good luck, James. Try not to run a red light." Admiral Noloshoi jokes.

"By the way, Hadrian, tell Persius to double time it on those sorties, he tends to be late." General Grozniskaya jokes back as he finally leaves.

DMZ, South Korea
14th Polisian Expeditionary Force to South Korea
1200 Hours

For the time being the DMZ, or a part of it, was now a hastily fortified position with dug ins for tanks and artillery pieces. at the moment the force there was not the full number, however it did contain enough artillery and air defense as they would need for now while they wait for an allied invasion. Ever vigilant they watched the border for movement and their eyes glued to both sky and ground.

A squadron of MiG-31 Mod. C broke the silence and monotomy of the sight as it flew over their position. they could see that it was flying in tandem with other air forces, not yet crossing the border to avoid being shot down, but it was there in case of an attack from the North Korean government or any other belligerents that decided to cross the border and show dominance.

Admiral Isaiah Williams arrives in Busan with APH Ground Forces unloading military equipment from Ro/Ro ships and sent north towards the DMZ. He looked over and saw Polisian ships unloading their equipment as well. F/A-18E Super Hornets flew overhead providing aircover for the allied ships. He looked at the Polisian military equipment thinking, Hmmm, so they use Russian arms. This should be very interesting. He send a Message to Polisian High Command asking to speak to their commander in Korea.

"In saying this, we will avoid any form of a repitition of the Busan Pocket fiasco in the event of a retaliatory attack from the North via using naval bombardment to deter forces from moving any closer. Moving on-" Admiral Noloshoi is cut off with a knock to the meeting room. Allowing the ensign to enter, he responds about an incoming message from the commander of the American Pere Housh to meet with him.

"Do they need more space for off-loading?" the admiral asks.

"No, sir. They want to talk." the ensign says. Admiral Noloshoi dismisses the ensign as he puts the meeting to recess and proceeds to the communications suite of the UIPNS Sentinel, the only Kirov Class Battlecruiser currently in the Korean peninsula, and Flagship of the 38th Combat Operations Fleet.

"Get Generals Grozniskaya and Arcticson on the line first before connecting us to APH network." Admiral Noloshoi commands.

The lines were quiet until both respective people picked up their ends. "Alright, what's happening?" asks General Simon Arcticson.

"Hello? Hello? Fucking field radios." General Grozniskaya responds as well.

"Alright combine these channels into one and set us up with the APH network." Admiral Noloshoi orders. "The American Pere Housh command in Korea has contacted us and wants to talk, probably for formulating some plan."

After a few minutes of checking the lines and resolving the issue of having different frequencies, eventually they had established a connection. All three of them knew this would happens since they were the first to arrive by far, thankfully without having been fired at by daring North Korean vessels.

Clearing his throat, Admiral Noloshoi speaks up first. "Unidentfied American Pere Housh commander, this is the Polisian Segmentum Command Unit Primaris. I understand you wanted to talk to us?"

Isaiah looked at his subordinates with a raised eyebrow before speaking, "Yes you are correct. I am Admiral Isaiah Williams and I am CincPacFor for American Pere Housh. I am asking that we meet somewhere secure as what I have to say isn't heard by the wrong people. We are allies and it would be good for our two staffs to get to knowing each other since we will be fighting together. We have been here in South Korea since the Korean War so we know what we are fighting against."

8 F-22 Raptor Air Superiority fighters take off from Osan Air Base and head towards the DMZ. They overfly the positions of the Allied Force at Mach 1.05 while wagging their wings in greetings. They spot a squadron of MiG 31 Mod C fighters so Colonel Jonathan Granger speaks over the guard channel, "Tiger Lead to MiG commander, Do you copy?"

"Very well, Admiral Williams. Name the location and we'll get there." Admiral Noloshoi makes a hand signal to put their microphones on mute. "Arcticson, get ready to leave, Sentinel flight crew, prep a bird for launch."

Making yet another hand signal, the call goes unmute. "I will also be informing you that General Grozniskaya will not be able to make it, he's currently busy preparing plans in his Area of Operations."

At the point while waiting an ensign approaches the admiral again, this time handing over a clipboard with recent news updates. Scanning through some of them, Admiral Noloshoi sees two notable lines. The first being about a possible reinforcement unit consisting of more support units such as Electronic Warfare equipment and the likes, and another one about the Empire of Nihon who is said to be fighting for both the KDC and the JKG, a note from Polisian Intelligence also adds that they may serve as a threat to the liberation of North Korea , however it was just a possibility that was told to him to be considered eventually, for now, Admiral Noloshoi made only a mental note.

Captain Frederick Cain had been flying with his squadron of MiG-31 Mod. Cs. For now the five of them were assigned to patrol this area whilst other squadrons patrolled the sea and other parts of the DMZ. One was going to even go across the border eventually to test North Korean responses. From up above he could see the Kondenstator Self Propelled Guns and various T-90s in dug ins, preparred for a defensive fight for now.

"Radar contacts, bearing south and east." Captain Cain's weapons officer responded.

"South? Aren't the carriers eastbound?" Captain Cain asks his weapons officer.

"Yes, sir. Nemesis Squadron is coming from the east, southbound contacts are unknowns, potential allies maybe?" the weapons officer replies.

"Right, switching to general comms channel." Captain Cain twists a knob to three clicks towards the general comms channel.

The first to arrive were the contacts from the south, a squadron of eight F-22s came about, showing signs of communications as they went about, eventually amidst the silence a voice breaks through.

"Tiger Lead to MiG commander, Do you copy?"

"Roger, Tiger Lead, this is Vengeance Lead of Vengeance Squadron, heads up, a squadron of SU-25s will be coming in shortly, labeled, Nemesis Squadron, if they don't have the Aquila on their wings feel free to shoot them down, they're coming eastbound.. Is there something you need?" Captain Cain maneuvers his squadron to fly parallel to theirs.

Admiral Williams mutes the mike and turns to the Captainof the ARS Ranger,"Captain, prepare to receive HVIs." The captain nods his heads and issuing orders to his subordinates. Isaiah unmutes the mike,"Admiral, we can meet on the ARS Ranger as it is a secure location. Please notify us when you are near so you won't be shot down accidentally. We are 15 miles South of Busan and making our way to the east coast of North Korea."

Near the DMZ

Colonel Granger nods his head,"Copy Vengeance Lead, all aircraft with the Aquila on the wings are deemed friendlies. Our orders are to prevent North Korean aircraft from crossing the DMZ. If they cross the DMZ, they will be warned once to turn around or be shot down. You must remember this Captain: North and South Korea are still at war with each other."

"Your highness, it appears North Korea has fallen into civil war."

Emperor Naruhito nodded, "So it seems. It is a good thing, they will no longer be a threat to our nation."

General Yashimura stepped forward. "Your highness, we should take advantage of this situation, while Korea is weak. Gaining a foothold in Korea once again could be beneficial. If we support the Joseon Korean Government in secret, we can once again have Chosen. It would make your great great grandfather proud."

Naruhito paced towards the planning map that had already been laid out. "That is a consideration we must look into. Chaos in Korea only helps us. We can officially support the South Korean side financially, but we can also supply the Joseon."

Admiral Tamemoto motioned to several markers on the board. "In recent days we have seen a large amount of military traffic near our waters, we must act to deter intervention that will threaten our own security... I am most worried about Polisian navy units, they worry me."

Minister of War Araki smirked. "We have our naval ballistic missiles don't we?"

Tamemoto glanced towards several of his subordinates before he answered. "Sir, it is our belief that should we initiate the first strike, we will most likely be able to score a hit with our missiles, which should either sink or disable the enemy target. However, our kill chains are vulnerable, and if the enemy attacked those first, our ballistic missiles are useless."

Tamemoto paced around the table. "See, if the situation escalates, and we fire our missiles and sink one of their ships, it will allow for deescalation however there is a chance they will strike back. If they strike back hard, disabling our guidance systems, then we are vulnerable and our ballistic missiles will not work. Langenia had conducted many foreign interventions from the 1980s to the 2010s, but Operation Grey Arrow was by far the biggest Langenien military operation since the conquest of South Langenia by North Langenia, which had ended the 20-year long Second Langenia War (1955-1975). The Kamov Ka-60 Admiral Noloshoi was on board had just left the hanger of the UIPNS Sentinel moments ago. General Arcticson was already ahead since the aircraft carriers had more space to maneuver aircraft around before take off. Following the southward way, eventually they see the horizon of the frontmost ships of the APH fleet. The pilot turns a knob, switching to the general communications channel.

"American Fleet, this is Talon 1-1, permission to enter immediate airspace alongside Talon 2-1 to initiate the meeting on board the... ARS Ranger, how copy, over." the pilot said calmly. After awhile they were let through and begun to make their way towards the aircraft carrier in the center (presumably). Landing in an area that was clear for landing, Admiral Noloshoi and General Arcticson saw that the flight deck was equally as busy.

Stepping off the helicopters it was a bit of an unusual sight, the two black helicopters stuck out like a sore thumb among the other aircraft, along with design. Moving towards the only visible structure on the ship, that being the bridge, the two commanding officers of their respective branches, alongside their four Polis Ranger escorts moved to the tower, seeing that there was a person coming to them, Admial Noloshoi assumed this was someone to fetch them.

"Are you here to lead us to Admiral Williams, friend?" Admiral Noloshoi asks politely.

"Yes, but we have to remember, friend. South Korea is not invading them, not yet maybe." Captain Cain responds back.

"Wait what about that peace talk they had with President Moon and Kim?" the weapons officer quips.

"Good point, hey yeah what about that talk? Was it nullified if they are still at war? Was it just a prelude to ending the whole thing?" Captain Cain asks confused, remembering old headlines.

Soon enough a squadron of Su-25s come flying at a speed which would be preferable for patrolling, almost as if they were using the 38th Parallel of Earth as a reference to fly. "Getting cozy with the allies now are we, Vengeance Lead?"

"Put a sock in it, Nemesis, go fly into North Korea." Captain Cain joked back.

"Nah no thanks, only a 31 can go fast enough with a chance of living, so you go fly in, Vengeance." the response came back.

"Anything else, Nemesis?" Captain Cain attempts to end.

"Yeah, tell our friends we say hi." the Su-25s fly well past them at this point and cease unnecessary communications.

Down below, General Grozniskaya looks at a chart dating back to the 60s. The plan was, if a thrust were to be done here, was to blow a hole in the fence and then use their numbered cluster munitions to destroy whatever mines are in between them and the other side. At the moment Combat Engineer teams were surveying the land, looking at whatever signs can be seen through the use of small drones and binoculars. It was not the best of plans, however given that stepping on the DMZ at the moment was dangerous in many ways, but it was better than being out there and using a mine detector.

After that part however the next step was to set up a base of operations on their border. With the plan in hand, the plan is to take the mock village set up by the North in their attempt to lure South Korean citizens to the north. It provided already set up structures which were permamnet. However the only problem was that defending it would be hard and susceptible to being literally set on fire in an attack, so new alternatives were needed, but if the attack were to continue then that town would be their first objective.

At an airbase in Longon (an island nation bigger than Taiwan and smaller than Japan in the East China Sea, where Langenia has had military installations since the Second World War), Langenien aircraft are being readied for Operation Lightning Strike. One group of Langenien B-7 bombers escorted by F-22 Raptor stealth air superiority fighters and F-35 Lightning II stealth multirole fighters would enter North Korean airspace via the west coast of North Korea to carry out strikes on military installations in Pyongyang and on the Forbidden City, where the headquarters of the Workers' Party of Korea and government buildings are located. The second group consisting of B-35 stealth bombers escorted by F-41 stealth air superiority fighters and F-58 stealth multirole fighters would enter North Korean airspace via the east coast of North Korea and strike Pyongyang International Airport. On approach to Pyongyang the first group encountered enemy fire, however, they easily avoided the AA fire and the obsolete SAMs. SEAD by the F-22s quickly got rid of this annoyance. Over the Forbidden City the B-7s released their smart bombs. The second group surprised the Il-76 crews on the ground and also encountered the inefficient air defenses, with the F-41s quickly performing SEAD to neutralize the enemy fire. The B-35s released their smart bombs, destroying the Il-76s, and flew away. The planes returned to Longon with no losses, just light damage to the F-22s and F-41s from performing SEAD, which was easily fixed.

Talks included the procurement of more sophisticated military equipment from Langenien military stocks and the black market, as well as sending a team of Langenien technicians to Hamhung and Wonsan to restore inoperable Soviet-made military hardware to working condition. Finally, they agreed to establish a joint Langenien military-KNF communications channel to improve command-and-control of combined Langenien-KNG forces upon the deployment of more Langenien ground forces to North Korea.

Soon all 65 Tomahawks were all heading towards their targets. At the same time 50 mile north, 2 APH SSGNs launched all all 448 of their Tomahawks at all non KDC ships and bases.

"It's time. Start it!" General Grozniskaya barked as C4 charges blew up the border wall in front of them, followed by the artillery firing cluster munitions to break the other wall and detonate any other mines in the area. The ground shook as mines and cluster munitions detonated. as thee was still smoke filing the air, T-90M tanks followed by MRAPs, assorted APCs, and the UAZs pushed through into North Korea.

KPA forces reacted immediately as they began to hose down the column in machine gun fire, there were a few RPGs that had been fired but those that hit were deterred by APS systems or the sheer thickness of ERA and composite armor combined. The fight had taken a great amount of time to wrap up as forces from the surrounding outposts mobilized to meet the Polisian speartip. It was a futile attempt as they arrived in vehicles no more armored than an APC and were thus dealt with using weapons capable of taking out light armored vehicles. But what had truly surprised them was the roaming T-72s that had knocked out a few T-90As, while some of their crew were dead or the tank itself was injured, they could be ready to go in a few hours.

Once the battle was finished the Polisian Expeditionary Force had immediately captured the town across the border meant to lure South Koreans to move to North Korea. Thanks to the Un Regime believing they could still do so with the town it was well kept to a certain degree. For now they would set up base until they can move closer to Kaesong or take and hold Pyongyang.

General Grozniskaya had already entered his command version of a Boxer IFV. "Gentlemen, Column !'s objective is to get to Kaesong as fast as possible, Column 2 will stay and pread out along the DMZ and ensure nothing gets past. Column 3 is to race to Pyongyang with whatever air assets and artillery units will support you with. Goodluck gentlemen."

MiG 31 Mod Cs raced across the border as Su-25s following behind. The plan was to use the MiG-31s faster speed to catch the attention of anti aircraft emplacements and not be hit while engaging whatever targets they can, while Su-25s would mop up all other targets alongside Su-37s who can do both.

The race to Pyongyang was now on.

"Feint radar contacts spotted sir, orders?" a radar operator asks.

Rear Admiral Skyhart had take command of the UIPNS Sentinel while Admiral Noloshoi was absent. Thinking for a moment, Captain Skyhart finally answered. "Do we have visual confirmation from satellites?"

"Five minutes, Captain"

After five minutes they saw the scene of ships that had recently been attacked. The identification of the ship was proven to have been of Lagenia make with evidence being supported from its flag floating in the water.

"Move to combat stance, I want six SS-N-19 Shipwrecks targeting whatever aircraft carriers they have, use them in groups of three. Alert to the rest of the fleet to open fore with whatever cruise missiles available, and tell the carriers of their new targets."

Blast doors opened up the silos and soon enough the missiles from every ship fired, plotting a course to the enemy fleet. Soon afterwards Su-25s and Su-37s armed for naval engagements took off. They had taken well over an hour to reach firing position where they had sustained some losses as they entered AAM range of the Langenian fleet, however they were rather minimal as they only needed a lock and launched their respective underbelly cruise missiles and left the missiles to do their job.

South of the Korea Strait, in the East China Sea...

long-range radar on the Langenien ships of the Western Fleet had detected the Polisian planes. Anti-ship missiles were fired at the Polisian 38th Combat Operations Fleet, and air defense systems from the carriers had already launched anti-air missiles to intercept the Polisian anti-ship missiles. AA fire and more anti-air missiles were fired at the Polisian aircraft. Aboard the aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships, F-23 multirole fighters and F-58 stealth multirole fighters configured for the air-to-air and anti-ship role were scrambled. Reinforcements of more ships had also arrived from Longon to replace losses from the earlier Pere Houshian missile strikes.

The far eastern end of the North Korean-controlled DMZ, right next to the Sea of Japan...

Lieutenant Colonel Pak Jong-il wondered why, out of all the units in the Korean People's Army Ground Force, he had to be assigned to command one of the units that would have to bear the brunt of the rebel assault. Why couldn't he have a nicer command, perhaps of a mechanized rifle battalion stationed near his home in Pyongyang? He found it ironic that the fortifications built to defend against an invasion from the south were being used to defend against an invasion from the north. He had arrived to command a motor rifle battalion as part of the KPAGF forces in the far east of the DMZ, right next to the Sea of Japan. Now, his battalion was being shelled with mortar, towed artillery, and rocket fire from the rebels. He had ordered his men to dig in as best as they could and called for reinforcements from his superiors. All they could manage were a platoon of WW2-era, obsolete, unreliable T-34 medium tanks, which were quickly destroyed by the rebel bombardment. He grimaced as he watched one of his staff officers in the bunker he used as his headquarters call in an airstrike. Soon, two Su-25 attack aircraft and two Mi-24 attack helicopters arrived. As the Su-25s began their approach on the rebels, firing rockets, they were both hit in the engines by what appeared to be MANPADS and were shot down. The Mi-24s followed, firing anti-tank missiles at rebel tanks and armored vehicles. They were also hit by MANPADS and shot down. Where did the rebels get that gear? He didn't think his battalion could continue resisting much longer. Then, as if things could get any worse, rebel tanks, backed by mechanized infantry in APCs and IFVs as well as artillery stormed towards their positions. Attached anti-tank teams went into action. Suddenly, a call came from his superiors. His staff officer answered, and, with a surprised expression, told him that his superiors ordered surrender. He complied, and one of the officers' white shirt was used as a surrender flag. The rebels accepted. Soon, they were all prisoners of war. He was then taken to the rebel commander, who offered him two choices, join their ranks, or remain a POW. Though he had always been loyal to the government, he realized that Kim Jong-un's hold on power was tenuous. His good songbun was basically a bribe to remain loyal. All the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea could provide as reinforcements was obsolete equipment and unwilling conscripts. He decided to join the rebels, and his battalion followed suite. He later learned that the KNF, in addition to capturing the far eastern North Korean-controlled DMZ, had also taken much of the eastern part of the North Korean-controlled DMZ.

After the KNF had taken most of the eastern coast of North Korea, the Langeniens quickly took advantage of the opportunity. Langeniens ships offloaded troops, equipment, and supplies into the country. Their was much military activity in Hamhung and Wonsan. Airlifts of more troops, equipment, and supplies were also conducted from bases in Longon. Technicians got to work repairing military hardware, and engineers rebuilt military infrastructure. General of the Army Manuel Lopez was assigned command of the invasion force. The joint Langenien military-KNF forces were divided, according to plan, into two groups. One group headed northwards to take the regime's foothold in the central eastern and northeastern North Korea and later advance into JKG territory. The other joined the race to Pyongyang and would later conquer all remaining regime and KDC territory.

At a war council in Kaesong, the senior FKA military commanders decided on a war plan. The FKA would join the race to Pyongyang, moving forces northwards and battling regime forces until capturing Pyongyang. All remaining regime resistance would be mopped up. The KNF forces advancing westwards would then be forced to fight a difficult urban battle to capture Pyongyang, if they could capture the capital. Such heavy losses were to be inflicted on them that they would be forced to retreat eastward, but the plan was for FKA forces to cut their supply lines, surround them, and force them to surrender. This loss was to be so damaging that the FKA could easily conquer KNG-controlled territory for the KDC. Then, the FKA would divide its forces. One force would head northwest and overwhelm the GNC, and the other would head northeast and destroy the JKG. But first, an offensive would be carried out against the regime's forces along the western part of the North Korean-controlled DMZ. When the FKA commanders heard that that Polisian forces had broken through the DMZ and were engaged in combat against the KPA, a message was sent to them, suggesting that they take the central part of the North Korean-controlled DMZ and that the two armies link up at Sariwon.

ARS Ranger and the 5th Fleet
250 miles northeast of Busan

"Admiral, we have multiple vampires and ballistic missiles be launched from North Korea and Langenien territory." The Admiral yelled out, "All ships man your battlestations." All acros the 5th Fleet, sailors rushed to their battlestations. Jets began launching of the flight decks of their carriers and heading off towards targets in NK. Anti Ballistic missile and SAM radars activate and begin searching for their targets. The Polisians on board the Ranger were brought to the bridge for their protection. 75 miles west of the carrier battle group, an APH E-3 Block 45 detects the cruise missiles 100 miles from the fleet and closing quickly. Fleet units soon pick up the missiles and begin launching their SM2 ER SAMs at the cruise missiles. SM3 ER Anti Ballistic missiles flew into the sky after targets the sailors couldn't see yet. 20 cruise missiles made it through the SAMs and it was the CWISs turn to take out the missiles. 1 Langenien missile made it though hitting the destroyer the ARS Omar Bradley killing 26 sailors and injuring 30 more. The missile destroyed the foward gun but the ship remained afloat. It headed back to Pearl Harbor for repairs.

Brigadier General Alonzo Gomez just received orders to cross the DMZ. Over an encrypted radio, "To all troops of the 3rd Army, our orders are to cross the DMZ and eliminate any forces not allied with the KDC or South Korea. Any Langenien you see is considered hostile but if they surrender, they are to be treated fairly." After receiving acknowledgements from all his unit commanders, the 3rd Army pushes forward breaching the DMZ. AH-64D Apache Longbow gunships and A-10 Warthogs surged ahead of the 3rd Army ripping apart KPA and Langenien troops and armor. F-22s and F-16s launched HARMs at Langenien radar sites all across the East coast of North Korea.

We have noticed that your forces have broken through the far eastern Demilitarized Zone along with the Polisians. We request that you neutralize the KNF forces in the area along with the Polisians, while we neutralize KPA forces along the western DMZ. We propose that your forces, along with the Polisians, link up with our forces at Sariwon to march on Pyongyang. We also propose setting up a joint command structure with the Polisians to coordinate combat operations.

Military satellites from the Langenien Revolutionary Strategic Force have noticed that the Imperial Korean Forces, the military wing of the Joseon Korean Government, was massing troops along the southern border of JKG-controlled territory. Intelligence reports indicate that these forces are planning to take the regime's last foothold in northeastern and central eastern North Korea, and then advance into KNG-controlled territory. Long-range airstrikes using bombers from Longon and cruise missile strikes from warships in the East China Sea were carried out against IKF forces to hamper mobilization efforts. The satellites also noticed that the Royal Goryeon Army, the military arm of the Goryeon National Council, was massing troops along the border of GNC- and JKG-controlled territory. Intelligence reports indicated that the Goryeon dynasty wished to take the territory of its sworn enemies, the Joseons. Meanwhile, the North Army Group, which was tasked with advancing to Chongjin and Sinujiu, was already advancing into the regime's last eastern foothold. Combat ensued with KPA forces, with Langenien AH-1L, Mi-24, HA-17, HA-35, and HA-42 attack helicopters and Su-25, A-22, A-10L, and A-31 attack aircraft hunting down KPA armor, and F-21 and F-29 multirole fighters conducting airstrikes against KPA artillery. The ground forces soon mowed down the remaining infantry in a blitzkrieg fashion. Soon, the attack that Langenien military planners had expected from the GNC against the JKG duly happened. RGA infantry, technicals, and some armor, backed by some artillery, crossed the GNC-JKG border. The IKF incursion into central eastern North Korea was postponed, due to the fact that many of the troops that had been massed at the JKG's southern border were recalled to fight against the RGA. Elsewhere, West Army Group (the joint Langenien-KNG forces sent against Pyongyang and Kaesong) was moving into central North Korea, en route to Pyongyang along and around the Pyongyang-Wonsan Tourist Motorway. Already, after some fighting, they had taken some towns, in the same fashion of North Army Group.

When the Langenien radar sites detected the Pere Houshian aircraft headed towards West Army Group, they knew something had to be done to prevent the hampering of the advance into central North Korea. They also knew that if they were not stopped, the radar sites would be wiped out, leaving the Langenien-KNG forces and all KNG-controlled territory without effective air defense. Scouts from West Army Group had identified the aircraft: F-16 Fighting Falcons, F-22 Raptors, A-10 Warthogs, and AH-64 Apaches. Infantry manning MANPADS and mobile anti-air guns were used against the Pere Houshian attack helicopters. Short-range and medium-range SAMs from West Army Group were also used against the F-16s, F-22s, and A-10s. Langenien S-300, SA-250, S-400, and SA-550 long-range SAM systems several miles west of Wonsan also fired missiles on the Pere Houshian jets. Some of the incoming HARM missiles made it through the anti-air fire and hit some radar systems. Airlifts from Langenia and Longon were arranged to North Korea, delivering new radar systems to replace the ones destroyed.

Yanggakdo Hotel no longer hosted any tourists. Instead, it was hosting people much more important: the North Korean political elite, including Kim Jong-un. After the destruction of the Forbidden City, including Kim Jong-un's Pyongyang palace, by Langenien airstrikes, the political elite had moved here, with Kim Jong-un and his family moving into the secret presidential suite on the fifth floor. Here, the hotel had been turned into a war headquarters. The decision had been made by Kim Jong-un to move to the hotel instead of another one of his palaces, which were spread out across the country, and the few that remained in regime-controlled territory were within range of foreign and rebel ground forces and air and missile strikes. No one would suspect a hotel? Inside his room turned office, Kim Jong-un sat at his desk, waiting to meet with his military counterparts to hear more bad news from the front. He heard the inevitable knock on the door. "Come in, comrades," he said. In came Vice Marshal Ri Chung-hee, the Chief of General Staff of the Korean People's Army, and Colonel General Park Jong-il, the Minister of State Security. A long time ago, he would've executed his generals for their failure to stop the war without question, but now, his power was tenuous. He had to be careful when dealing with his military and security counterparts, as he knew now that his power was much more unstable then before, making them more ambitious and lustful for the dictatorship, and thus less loyal and more powerful. He listened to their report: Marshal Ri reported that the Polisians had broken through the central DMZ, and the Pere Houshians through the eastern DMZ. Langenien forces had been inserted into North Korea and were advancing into the foothold in the east, and that a race to Pyongyang had begun, with the KDC, Polisians, and Pere Houshians coming in from the south, and the KNG and Langeniens coming from the east. Wonderful, he thought, everyone's ganging up on the last stronghold. "Mobilize all remaining reserves, the elderly, and the children. Have them come to the defense of the capital. Build fortifications superior even to those the Great Leader Kim il-Sung built to defend against the south, attach commissars to the troops to teach them Juche and Songbun, and increase food rations as much as possible to raise morale. As for all forces fighting for the defense of the rest of the fatherland, have them fight to the last man." When asked about where the nuclear arsenal should be placed, he ordered that a special sealed underground bunker be built under Yanggakdo Island to store the warheads. Anyone entering would have to receive permission from him. As for his intelligence report from General Park, he learned that a coup plot had been discovered and dealt with within the forces defending Pyongyang and within Park's own agency. He ordered that surveillance of all military officers be carried out by commissars and intelligence officers embedded in the KPA.

At the behest of the government of Langenia, representatives from all factions of the North Korean Civil War met to discuss a possible peace settlement. No one could agree due to their very different demands, though the peace conference did succeed in negotiating an temporary ceasefire to the war. Now, it remains to be seen what will happen next...
