The Empire of New Goldman is slated to have it's Prime Ministerial Elections for 2020. This event every 4 years encourages the population to democratically elect their chosen candidate, or re elect the incumbent PM. Everything must go according to constitutional protocol to ensure a fair and reasonable election and to avoid internal conflict.

The current Prime Minister and incumbent is Boris Johnson of the Goldman Union of Capitalists, who won an electoral college landslide in 2016 against several political opponents. He is seeking for re election to extend his term. This is legal as per constitutional rights

Elections always happens in September and October (a specific date will be released in the process). Political Parties seeking to participate in the elections should have already elected their nominees in their respective conventions, which happens from December of the last year and ends by July and early August.

In the meantime, foreign nations and leaderships are allowed to endorse a political party of their own choosing, whether it's for ideological reasons or some other reason involved. Separate threads for the debates and the candidate's biographies and platforms will be created for convenience.

"Personally, I think that the stances I proposed will make our enemies tremble in fear. New Goldman needs to stiffen up its foreign policy and not just maintain armed neutrality. No offense to Mr. Johnson, but I think that New Goldman was too soft of a nation during his administration. We need to act tough. Communist Party gains first mover advantage?
5 September 2020

For the first time since the 1978 Prime Ministerial Elections, the Communist Party of New Goldman has fired the starting pistol in what is arguably a very competitive election when their candidate, George Holland, threw a huge rally in Denver, nicknamed the "Communist Capital" of New Goldman, and home to many of the Empire's prominent trade unions. The massive convention was attended by a staggering 20,000 people, mostly including workers and laborers who had come to here from the man they deem as "the eventual savior of the working class". A number of leaders from the different trade unions are also noted to be attendance, like Mark Pence of the Denver Union of Workers and Paul Princeton of the National Association of the Working Class. The crowd was also deeply stunned by George Holland's gifted speaking ability, when he openly called for the abolishing of Boris Johnson's capitalist reforms and promote moves to a socialist state, for the benefit of the workers. Holland ended the convention with the now tagline of the Holland Campaign: "The Worker's Best Days Lies Ahead". The funding raised by the campaign afterwards was also very impressive, with a total of 175 Million Goldmanian Dollars being raised, a new record set by a communist candidate since Sarah Zion raised 150 Million back in 1978. With backings from several foreign communist organizations and parties, and the worker's support pouring in, who knows what the Communist Party could achieve in this election, and it might result in the first communist prime minister ever to be elected.

Capitalists at the Capital

Boris Johnson never ceases to impress New Goldman and the Government when he threw his launching rally in the capital city of Varyag today. The incumbent Prime Minister and experienced politician man spoke to an audience roughly the amount of the CPNG rally, made of long time loyalists and voters of him during his election in 2016. The jubilant crowd cheered on their sitting PM as Johnson promised the continued promotion of both private industry and the implementation of his so far successful capitalist reformations since his first and second terms as the PM under Norton II. Several foreign nations and their political parties have also reached out support to the candidate and the Goldman Union of Capitalists by means of moral and financial support, and CEOs known to him like Mike Gates and Steve Fencer have also donated funds to the jolly but down to business man. The Communist Party currently is calling Johnson a plutocrat for being too reliant on support, a claim he publicly dismissed to the benefit of his campaign. According to both the Financial Director and his official campaign website, a staggering 169 Million Goldmanian Dollars was raised; a little short of Holland's funds, but enough to last the first half of the election.

No Incident can stop the Green Light!
7 September 2020

Tony Winters' launch rally was also a huge success, and very close to the likes of the first 2 rallies. The Green Party gathered over 18,000 people, mostly hardcore Greens who had supported the GPNG during its ill fated run in the 2016 Elections, and never forgetting the lost to the GUC in the popular vote by a little over 10 votes, and were destroyed completely in the electoral. The crowd went wild when Winters criticized the current government under Johnson as "non environmental" and "the next enemy of New Goldman's wildlife and animals". Specifically however, the Green Party rally got all this attention because a brawl between 2 staff members of the Winters Campaign happened a few minutes before the beginning of the convention. One of the staff members was revealed to be a Communist symphatizer and wanted to sabotage the convention by breaking the mic system. The member was fired on the stop and was sent off to a confinement camp. Winters was all too honest when he mentioned the incident in his speech, but his supporters seemingly increased and his reputation remained intact despite of this. Funding totaled at a respectful 148 Million Goldmanian Dollars on the GPNG page. Winters declared afterwards that "no incident can stop the Green Light", which has developed into a sort of battle cry for the Greens.

Centrists holds respectful rally despite backfire from Emperor
7 September 2020

New Goldman has a history of not accepting Centrism into the ranks of its own politics, but it looks like that is about to change. The Centrist Party's rally in Manchester today a few hours after the Green's convention was of typical fanfare, but still very successful. The rally was attended by at least 15,000 spectators who had come to here from the venerable Nancy Pulowski, who had built a reputation for being an inspirational TED speaker, and of Maxtopian decent, and she helped to bridge the gap between Goldman and the now Maxtopia that had fallen to a severe oil crisis and ongoing political infighting. Her idea of promoting Social Conservatism in the seemingly "developing dictatorship" grabbed the attention of her audience and ended with a huge applause from her supporters. Her statement however of reducing support for the House of Norton became a point of controversy from her, and the fact she supported her point very firmly. The Emperor himself even backfired by threatening to reduce support on her and the Centrists, but that doesn't seemed to have an effect on her candidacy. Centrist support currently is growing, with even the Maxtopian Revolutionary Government reaching their support to them. Funds amounted to a respectful 132 Million Goldmanian Dollars, with several foreign investments and donations by Centrist CEOs on the bag.

The Christian Party's rally in Francisco was another successful event, although of lower views due to only 11,000 people attending the convention. But how did the CPNG get this much attention even with the semi large viewership? A few hours after the end of the rally, William Walter Jr's campaign website was hacked and overrun by an atheist organization calling themselves "The Order of the Future" who declared that the Party's initiative to establish a Christian Democracy is "utter nonsense" and "will destroy the future of our children and their children". A few members of this alleged Order also spray painted on a few large Christian Party posters in Francisco and a few other cities with their slogan "Christianity is the New Plague". This did not go well to the Party, who appealed to the Government for help. Thankfully overnight, the leaders of the Order were quickly located and arrested by an Special Warfare Team unit. As of now, the campaign website is back online and much more secure. Despite the hack, the fundings hoarded were mediocre to semi large, with 124 Million being raised.

National Socialists stumbles and limps behind
10 September 2020

Wolfgang Baron's late launch out of the gate has effectively taken a toll on the campaign. The campaign's launch rally also didn't fare better, with only 9,000 people in attendance. This is however not because of New Goldman's known reputation for not supporting National Socialists. Bad weather and even less than populated places were chosen for the rallies soon after struck the NS Campaign to the ground. The last big Baron Rally, which happened only a few hours ago in Appalachia, failed to reach overflow capacity due to the relatively low population in that area. Despite this, the Party was able to gather around 117 Million Goldmanian Dollars on their websites due to investments from foreign NS organizations.

Alright. The launchings have been. I'll give it another week until next Friday to post the Inter-Party Debates. Nations can still back their chosen candidates, up until the actual elections. Questions are also accepted. Just follow the format I had set!

Very interesting questions.

1. Johnson is a very wealthy businessman, a known capitalist and long time supporter of private industry, a main factor as to why Private Industry is larger than Government ownerships. Johnson mainly believes that both can come in handy and help to promote further industrial innovation.

2. Well it depends on the leader. Walter Jr is a sort of left leaning man, but he still works for the initiatives that the Christian Party has set on itself, although they're initiatives for promoting religion does not go well with the more Cult following or atheistic population.

3. Again, it depends on who is leading. But it is possible.

4. (This is unmentioned in my dispatches but I guess let's give it some meaning) The Chairman of National Affairs is the sort of assistant to the Prime Minister, a sort of Vice President, if you will. Most of the replacements for dead PMs comes from this position, although at the approval of the House of Norton and the Emperor.

The Early Regional Pollings

Erwin: Hey everyone, and welcome back to Politico's weekly politics chat, and the first episode in this year's election! Today we're gonna be focusing on the opening moves of our 6 candidates and the results of the early state pollings, which came out amazingly fast.

Mary: That's right. The results came in days after the last launch rally, and is mainly for polling beginning even before the launching conventions and that we also utilized online voting. But I must say, this year's early polls are really interesting to say the least.

Jack: Let's begin with the man already in the Capitol and seeking re-election, incumbent Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He seems to be enjoying an early lead of support.

Erwin: You're right about that, Jack. Johnson is leading in some, or even the majority, of regions. His effective campaigning, and the fact he is already a known figure to all of New Goldman really helped out.

Mary: I know. The major rallies held in the different city centers attracted loads and loads of people, going even beyond overbooked status.

Erwin: Johnson right now is sitting as king, for now. We have a handful of competitors.

Jack: We have Communist Holland leading in a few regions. He is really contending this year along with the CPNG.

Mary: Speaking of George Holland, lets move onto him. Man...who knew he had it in him?

Erwin: What's shocking is that he didn't just led the way in the Communist Capital; he also somehow managed to lead in Tejas and Albany. Now this is shocking, as these regions are usually capitalist ones.

Jack: It is the result of Holland's careful campaigning in these 2 places, even to rival Johnson's own efforts. They had been garnering supporters in their recent rallies these days. Although its not always Holland present, the people are seemingly being inspired by their message.

Mary: It's also noteworthy that he is tie breaking Johnson in some regional polls. It looks to be real heated between the Capitalists and the Communists.

Erwin: Both parties even has international support from governments and political parties, with even the Supreme Soviet of Stalliongrad reaching support to the Communists, and several other governments and businesses supporting the GUC.

Jack: It looks to be a two way election so far, when we compared the 2 highest right now. And it makes sense for that huge support for the CPNG, since they had the first mover advantage.

Mary: Maybe its time we move onto the lesser people outside the Big 2. Let's put in Tony Winters first.

Erwin: There is not much to say about Winters. They had reasonably large rallies and looks to be coming in 3rd place at almost every polling session.

Jack: I'll have to interject you there, Erwin. He had been supporting small Green organizations and has been promoting wildlife protection. He had also been throwing meetings at halls in his goal to promote Communalism.

Erwin: Well, I'm not really a fan of the Greens.

Cameraman (Offscreen): You are not supposed to have an opinion...

Erwin: Your face isn't supposed to have an opinion!

Mary: Woah...calm down. Anyways, lets move on to the Christians and William Walter Jr.

Jack: Well, the Christian Party rallies orchestrated by his associates had been mediocre at best. Although it helps to fund some money, Walter's reputation looks to be slumping due to a lack of actual public appearances...

Erwin: Walter Jr broke that lack of appearance just yesterday at a rally in front of the Varyag Temple of Enlightenment. He easily called out on the Cult as a "mindless experiment"..

Mary: I'm sure the Cult Council has something to say and do with that...

Erwin: Well, Sovereign John Norton put out a statement a few hours after that rally, saying that Walter was "an illiterate imbecile" and "corrupted piece of flesh".

Jack: Also, our first attack ads came out, courtesy of Wolfgang Baron and his National Socialists, directed against Walter. It merely states that he is too soft of a man and he even let the Cult attack him like that. I kinda agree with him.

Mary: Speaking of Baron, his rallies are quite small to mediocre. Its not really helping him, despite the huge cash he had in the launching rally.

Erwin: Agreed. I think he really needs to step us his game. But he looks to be. He is the only candidate so far to actually have an opinion in foreign policy. And that opinion is really a militaristic one..

Jack: Very unexpected from the National Socialists....

Mary: Last but not least, lets talk on the matters of Nancy Pulowski and the Centrists.

Erwin: Centrism is not really an interesting ideology for the majority of the nation, but the Centrists are gaining foot, slow though. At least there is progress.

Mary:[/b Maybe its safe to say that in the majority of the early pollings, she has settled into 4th place...not bad but not enough in a group of seven candidates.

Erwin: Her rallies were fairly large, and she looks to have a growing fanbase among the regions...
