Zhovkvan NKVD Division
October 24, 2006

Nationalist Threat

On the 24th of October, at 3 am, 3 men were apprehended by police on grounds of suspicious activity while carrying several bags of saltpeter fertilizer, a legal yet well known explosive, and walking towards the local administration in Donetsk. The 3 men were later found out to be well known Local Zhovkvan Nationalists, and have previously held many campaigns for Independence. They were transfered to the Zhovkvan Branch of the NKVD and interrogation has revealed that they are not the only ones planning do such acts. The word of their arrest must also not get out, as they have great support amongst the Zhovkvan population in Donbas. The NKVD stands on high alert in all major cities.

President-Elect Jin announces massive construction initiative for the Lasir Canal
Image

Vientiane - President-Elect Jin has already delivered on one of his central campaign promise with the introduction of the Lasiri Construction and Logistics Act (LCLA). The Canal is to be constructed in the Kra Isthmus, measuring 102 kilometers long, 400 meters wide and 25 meters deep. It is expected to cost $25Bn USD and 30,000 workers over a 10-year period. The Canal will be funded through a hybrid method of government and private investment, a result of a groundbreaking compromise between the National Assembly's two rivaling parties: The Social Worker's Front (center-left) and the National Liberty Party (moderate-right). $5Bn of government funding will be set aside for the construction of the canal, to be used over a 10 year period and to ensure that the long term economic benefits of the canal will help return revenue to the government. As a result, when the canal is finished, an across the board tax cut will be enacted to lessen the burden on the Lasiri populace. The remaining $20Bn will be available for private investment by foreign companies and governments, in return for an equivalent stake in the canal's profits when it is completed. There is no limit to how much an investor can spend, meaning that the entire $20Bn can be purchased all at once, or inversely, all remaining $20Bn can be evenly split amongst 20 entities. However the financial matter is secured, it is certain that the vast employment opportunities the canal will offer will invigorate the struggling, but recovering, Lasiri economy and help usher the nation into a new golden age of prosperity. President-Elect Jin has also hinted at other large public-work projects, but such announcements are expected to be delayed after the introduction of such a large project.

      News from the Subcontinent

      Image
      A Dehli Sight

      SPECIAL FEATURE:
      Dual Capital Legislation Passes

      Tehran is dangerous.
Any piece of enemy propaganda will tell you this, but recently, things have gone far. The Bombings of Parliament has shook Helmand to the core, with no true easy solution. The death of multiple members of it has sponsored change, but matters not when compared to this senseless tragedy.
      But more comes.
Dust storms have rocked Tehran, creating a dangerous and dirty environment for many, and threatening the integrity of many of her older structures. Tehran, the lovely capital of Helmand, is crumbling. And currently, there are very little outs.

      "Helmand is Indian"
So says the Majiles, which had recently been besieged with new legislation from all corners, awakened by bombing and ready for change. Change is now easier, due to the reduced amount of seats in Helmandi parliament, and multiple delegates have introduced groundbreaking laws that can overhaul the very structure of Helmand.
One of these, initially proposed to move the Capital to Dehli but later tweaked to a dual-capital system, has posited that to acknowledge Helmand's fundamental ethnic diversity, two capitals be established, with Tehran remaining the administrative seat of Helmand, but Dehli becoming the home of the legislature.

      Success for Reform:
The fundamental truth, things will always move forward. Helmand is too. President Nazari recently signed the bill, which passed through the Majiles with good numbers, into law. His push for Indian citizenship has created many more Indian figures in positions of power, and he seems to be embracing it, signing the bill into law and opting to put more Indians in Helmand's cabinet. Opposition to the bill, defined by the western minorities such are Kurds and Azers feeling that Helmand was moving away from them, has been largely defanged, with Nazari's western heritage showing those regions as split.
A new parliament building is slated for construction, and this may lead to more initiatives to develop the Indian regions in the long term.

      Ey Helmand!

Textiles sweatshop in northern Ban Hai found responsible for recent deaths; class-action suit expected

Nakhon Phanom - A recent wave of alarming reports flooded the national media late Friday night (12/1) as the Khamkeut District Police Department released information regarding a number of dead bodies being found in the Srikahm River. Since the release, five more bodies have been found, along with piles of fish, rodents, crustaceans, and other small animals. The Federal Police was assigned to assist the Khamkeut District PD in order to find if a killer was responsible for the casualties. The investigation, however, has led them to find that a small textiles sweatshop is the culprit. Operated by the larger Phun Bai Clothings, LLC, the workshop employed roughly 120 teenagers and women producing clothes to be used in circulation amongst their local outlets in Ban Hai, Vientiane, Thong Long, and Surmese province. The deaths resulted from the excess die and plastic waste the sweatshop had been dumping into the nearby river. Contamination of the water led to the deaths of many of the native fish downstream, and subsequently the animals that relied on the river for water. Identification of the bodies has shown that they were all from extremely underdeveloped and rural villages, leading officials to believe that they had been drinking from the river as their only source of water. The sweatshop itself is not being closed down but is being put under direct supervision by an agent of the Department of Commerce and the local police force. Monthly reports will be required detailing how much waste is produced and where it is processed.

Various civil rights groups have reached out to the families of the affected, aggressively offering legal counsel and support to bring a case against Phun Bai Clothings. The SPL has openly endorsed such actions, hoping that the result will bring a sizable victory to the protection of the environment and corporate ethics. Meanwhile, in the National Assembly itself, SPL Assemblywoman Kantima Tongproh has written and sponsored a bill that would heavily restrict waste production and management by corporations, inducing heavy fines and penalties on companies that do not comply. Additionally, the bill would serve as a sort of environmental protection bill targeting and regulating greenhouse emissions and fossil fuel burning. The bill has seen harsh opposition by corporate lobbyists and the National Liberty Party, who claim that the bill would unnecessarily stifle the fragile Lasiri economy and do nothing to effectively prevent the degradation of human health. Even legislators in the Democratic Union have shied away from voting in favor of the bill, lest their corporate backers find other clients. Is this the end of the coalition for the two parties? Only time, and the vote, will tell.

Multi-million dollar grants to Niagaran TV industry • NACBA Conference due to host in January • Experts warn of population crisis in South America

Department of Defence announces radical military changes
It was the infantry of the Continental Liberation Army (now the Union Army) that pierced the Texan veil in the Spring of 1992, and it was Unioner infantry who laid siege to Ohio a year later, marking the beginning of Niagara's path to absolute greatness and glory. The Union, despite being in a radically different state than all those years ago, owes its military and economic prowess to those brave men and women who united North America.

However, the global climate has changed, and, according to the Department of Defence, the nature of Niagaran military intervention has shifted from that of large scale infantry battles to naval skirmishes and patrols across the entire world. As such, the Continental Military has announced the Niagara Union will be scaling back the size of the Union Army in favour of increased Continental Guard troop count and more naval assets.

The DOD will be allocating roughly 33% of the Defence Budget (a minor increase), decreasing the amount of ground force infantry by 150,000, commissioning a slew of new, modern naval ships and redirecting some of the army's budget to the navy and other government departments.

Treasury offers dollar support to Mindanao
The Treasury has offered a hefty stimulus package to Mindanao of $10bn over the next 3 years in direct cash should the nation switch to the Niagaran dollar as its official currency. The Union also offers to create an investment fund that would inject funds into Mindanao's agricultural industries. Several of Niagara's largest companies have expressed interest in purchasing raw materials from Mindanaon suppliers should they adopt the dollar. The potential strength of the commercial relationship between Mindanao and Niagara is an extremely good reason for the Mindanaoan Government to accept this deal.

      In other news...
      • A shoot out occurred in Houston, Texas, between local law enforcement and two local workers. The workers were planning a terror attack on the Texan Military Authority building, but police were alerted by family members who discovered a manifesto written by one of the shooters. One officer was injured and both shooters committed suicide.
      • Cloudsun-Titus has announced it has been researching "liquid crystal display touchscreen cellular phones." Nothing else is known about the project.

Recent defeat of bill and class-action lawsuit spell end for environmental protection and corporate ethics legislation, conservative politics thrust into spotlight

Vientiane - The recent class action lawsuit against Phun Bai Clothing, LLC for the pollution of the environment and subsequent deaths has been dismissed from court this afternoon. The jury declared unanimously that the company held no responsibility for the actions of individual factories and that such operations fall under the supervision and responsibility of the local manager (who has also been cleared of charges). The coinciding bill written by Socialist Party of Lasir (SPL) Assemblywoman Kantima Tongproh was devastatingly shot down in the National Assembly yesterday as only 100 of the 325 seats voted in favor. Considering that the political coalition between the Democratic Union (DU) and SPL consists of 166 seats, this means that the majority of DU members voted against or abstained from the bill. The sudden break in politics has led further rifts to form between the two parties, as the SPL continues to move farther left while the DU stands firm in its center-left viewpoint. Should such trends continue, this could mark the end of the Social Worker's Front.

The Clarnfœld Post has recently released memos between representatives of both parties detailing a plentitude of current disputes between the DU and SPL. Of note were several going into graphic detail about arguments between assembly members, and evidence of SPL propaganda being debunked by DU-funded ads. Both the spokesperson for the SWL, as well as the DU and SPL, have declined a request to comment. The fractured, and now publicized, relationship within the Social Worker's Front is a huge advertising win for the National Liberty Union (NLU), who have taken no time at all launching a slew of smear-ad campaigns targeting the fragility of the leftist bloc compared to the NLU's own stability. Without a partnership between the two largest leftist members, political analysts guarantee that conservative politics will dominate the government until at least the next election. Without any such opposition for the NLU, it is likely that even self-declared Independent President-elect Jin will have to favor moderate-right views.

Wintery Vacations Open to the Masses

As part of the "Three-Year Plan for the Creation of a Large and Prosperous Working Class", the DSABP and the DS-Arbeiterbund have made a clear commitment to strive for increasing the quality of life for the lower class. One major point of focus on that topic is ensuring there are affordable options for leisure and recreation, something which is typically only a luxury enjoyed by the upper and middle classes. However, the DS Arbeiterbund and its leisure branch, the DS Arbeiterbund Freizeitamt have engaged in numerous fundraisers ahead of the holiday season to provide affordable vacation packages to the working class. While not free, the packages are within even the poorest of citizens' financial reach and provide access to faily luxurious ski resorts, mountain retreats, and forest lodges. All of these, of course, are only avaliable to members of the DS Arbeiterbund. Luzia Aschoff of the Ministry of Labor and Social affairs expressed regret that more was not able to be done by this winter, citing short preparation times as a major hindrance, but she also expressed excitement at the prospect of what the DS Arbeiterbund Freizeitamt should be able to provide in a year's time. Two new ski resorts are planned to be ready for next winter which will be specifically made for providing luxury-standard recreational facilities to the working class. By the spring of 2008, new summer facilities should also be completed.

An Ultimatum to the Kingdom of Alicia

To the Kingdom of Alicia,

Your nation has falsely held onto the entire Gibraltar Strait for far too long. Our ally, the Kingdom of Algiers, has rightful claims to the African side of the Gibraltar Strait. Alicia has zero justification for holding onto both sides of the Strait. This is unacceptable.

The Niagara Union demands the the African side of the Gibraltar Strait be handed back to the Kingdom of Algiers. Failure to do this will lead to a seizure of the land by Niagaran forces.

STATE ARRESTING INNOCENT CIVILLIANS
About 2 months ago, the NKVD Arrested 3 Civilians walking the streets of Donetsk. They belived them to be Zhovkvan Nationalistists, however they had commited no crime, and were only apprehended on the grounds of "Suspicious Activity." The men were given no trial, and all information of their whereabouts has been hidden by the NKVD. The men were reported missing by their friends and families several times however no missing persons case has been issued. The men have dissapeared in their entirety. This information was revealed approximatley 5 hours ago, after an NKVD agent's laptop was compromised. The whisleblower wishes to remain anonymous.

It is now belived that cases like this have occured many more times in the past years, as many missing persons cases for men and women known to be part of the Nationalist movement are ignored. The government has yet to comment on this.

Ceuta Crisis resolved • Internal Security launches investigation into former Shinra assets • Cuban census: population of 5.5 million.

Legionism - The newest social phenomenon
Director Roman Dean of Internal Security recently released his new book entitled 'Legionism - A 21st Century Ideology.' The book, nearly 2000 pages long, details the rising right-wing political ideology of legionism.

Defining legionism is tricky, according to Myles Brant, the owner of an online legionist forum. "Legionism the idea that a powerful nation is better for the people living within it. Probably the most important aspect of legionism is the role of the military." Legionism has been in existence for multiple years now, but has started to pick up steam due to a number of influential Niagarans subscribing to it, the most recent and most important of which being Roman Dean, who outlines his beliefs extremely clearly in his new book which as been affectionately called "The Legionary Manifesto."
Legionism is an economically liberal but socially conservative ideology - which has led critics to describe it as 'authoritarian libertarianism'. However, its this fact that likely explains why Niagara's young demographic (13 - 25) are the most fervent supporters of Legionism. Professor Keating from the University of Columbia, who teaches political science, had this to say:
Legionism is the middle ground for the youth of Niagara. These kids grew up under a slew of different ideologies and beliefs. However, their age means they're open minded enough to consider the middle ground. Legionism combines the economic beliefs of former Texas and UPS, the social aspects of Gettysburg and Antes and the political aspects of the American Federation. Its truly the perfect ideology for the North American Continent.

The peculiar state of Niagara currently is providing a golden opportunity for Legionary speakers to enthral the people of Niagara with nationalist fervour and bring them into the Legionist ideology. With millions of people flocking to its ideals, legionist thinking will prove to be an important voice in Niagara in the years to come.

      In other news...
      • Secretary of State Richards has announced the desire to bring Arica into the Security Accord. Arica, already guaranteed by the Union, uses the dollar and shares strong ties with Niagara. Richards claims that Arican membership is a, 'no-brainer.'

Armed Forces Begin Expansion in the Face of International Chaos

In a recent speech, Chancellor von Teutschenthal addressed the changing role which Bisingen has in the world.

"Our nation, our people have made clear that isolationism is no longer a desirable path for the country. Our recent involvement in various conflicts has shown us the true potential for good which our country possesses. However, it has also become apparent in recent months that we are not equipped to defend freedom and righteousness to the degree which we should and the degree which we must. With the recent scare involving Ceuta, this was abundantly clear. Our forces, spread across Bisingen and our steadfast ally Balaton, were not ready for the unthinkable. That is not something we can afford. We must be eager and ready to defend ourselves and our allies should they be threatened or endangered. Therefore, let it be known that it is the patriotic duty of every citizen to serve their nation on the front lines should that terrible reality come to fruition."

This speech accompanied a statement by the Royal Army of Bisingen, stating intentions to expand to a size of 500,000 active personnel (an expansion of 200,000) by the end of the year. While conscription will not be implemented, recruiting efforts will be drastically increased. Also, despite making an effort to expand the armed forces, strict standards of training and performance will remain in place. Even though expansion is a priority, leading generals have made clear that they don't want to make sacrifices in quality that could lead to higher casualties in combat due to ineptitude. The air force has made similar statements and intends to reach a size of 60,000 (expansion of 25,000) by the end of the year as well. There has been no statement made by the navy at this time.

      SPECIAL FEATURE:
      "Confederation Helmand" Bill Passes!

For months, Helmand's parliament has been shaken up. Bombing, new legislation, and a move to India. Today, another result of this emereges. Hezb-e Rastakhiz, led by Banker Mahmud! has passed their trademark bill, overhauling Helmand's government into a scattered confederacy.

Under their new system, Helmand will be composed of a number of regions, who elect their own councils that each appoint as "head", responsible for collecting taxes, administering their lands, and other such manners. National elections for president still occur, but the President will serve as more of a guide to these heads then an administrator.

Three regions: The Greater Tehran Region, the Greater Dehli Region, and Qeshm, operate under their own systems, directly administered by the exdecutive branch for "Cultural or Political Significance to the Nation of Helmand".

Let us hope this can mend some tension within Helmand, and that our proud state can survive long and wide.

Zhen was born in Leichhardt, Yuwan in June 18th, 1976. She attended the Capricorn Academy where she completed her primary and secondary education. She excelled in Languages and Science, gaining fluency in English and Japanese; as well as Dutch and Chinese by the end of her schooling years.

Zhen met King Boudewijn at a military march in Staddorp and fell in love with him. King Boudewijn was instantly attracted to her beauty, care for the environment and her people, and shared her love for language and the Chinese culture.

King Luuk was well regarded and respected as a well-versed man in economic, political, and diplomatic matters. However, he tried his best to neglect the cultural aspects of Woerden; to avoid the information being known to the public.

Kaedwen adopts the dollar • Texan economy rebounds due to mining • Experts warn of Niagaran banking issues

Cuban tragedy - Niagaro-Cuban operation gone wrong
An incident in a Havana neighbourhood as left the Cuban Republic in a state of mourning. On the morning of January 25th, the Bureau of Security, supported by Niagaran Internal Security, raided the home of 26-year-old Arlo Ramirez after an anonymous tip indicated the man was plotting a terrorist attack on the Niagaran Council building in Central Havana.

Cuban and Niagaran operators entered the apartment at roughly 3am, holding Ramirez at gun point. Ramirez, while unarmed, threatened the operators, according to the soldiers involved. Somewhere during the altercation, a warning shot was fired, which set off a series of bombs Ramirez had been hiding in his living room. The bombs exploded and due to the density and volatility of the explosives, a chain reaction set off, with spectators claiming "fiery rain fell down on the entire block."

The explosions collapsed much of the apartment building, killing Ramirez, two Cuban operators, one Niagaran operator, as well as killing 23 civilians and injuring 54 more.

Cuban protestors are claiming it was Niagaran aggression and violation of protocol that lead to the tragedy, and much of Havana is engulfed by demonstrations, concentrated around the Niagaran Council Building. Local law enforcement are keeping the situation at bay.

Legionist mob gathers outside Vazimbian embassy in Niagara to protest miscegenation laws, Marco Weisserjung pre-orders a military-grade party boat from Svallbjard, Rumors of Hermann Weisserjung being addicted to drugs debunked by Volkspräsident Karl Weisserjung

The Biggest Diplomatic Agreement with Niagara in Vazimbian History (So Far)

ImageAerial view of the port of Prissmannstadt

After a meeting between foreign minister Marco Weisserjung and the Niagaran Vice President and leader of the Legionist movement, Roman Dean, which took place at the Foreign Affairs Ministry building in New Strasbourg, a massive deal which will have ginormous demographic, geopolitical, and economic consequences for both countries has been negotiated between the two nations.

For starters, the Vazimbian government is gonna lower tariffs on Niagaran goods immensely, greatly opening up trade between the two countries and increasing the amount of Niagaran goods flowing into the country. This is expected to lower the prices of goods made in Niagara in dollar stores across the country. The Federal Bank of Niagara also plans to create an investment fund, which will improve Vazimbian infrastructure, allowing resources to be extracted from the island for way lower prices. This will not only allow someone to drive 2 miles away from the nearest city without having to buy an offroad vehicle, but it'll allow massive amounts of money from mineral resources to flow into the country. The Niagarans also intend to invest multiple millions of dollars into the port of Prissmannstadt, which will make it less time-consuming and expensive to get stuff in and out of the country. In exchange, the Niagaran navy will build a base near the city of Prissmannstadt, meaning that they will be the first foreign country with a permanent military presence in Vazimbia.

Last but not least, the Niagaran government is going to hand out 2.5 million residency visas to Malagasy people over the next 12 and a half months, starting in April, so that they can move into state sponsored housing in Cuba. For Vazimbia, that is a lot of people. Let us put that into perspective for you. Currently, the Vazimbian population is estimated to be at approximately 19.4 million, 5.8 million of which are white, with the rest being Malagasy. 2.5 million people is equivalent to nearly 13% of the Vazimbian population. The population of Vazimbia will fall from 19.4 million to only 16.9 million. The percentage of white people in the Vazimbian population will increase dramatically. The quality of life for the average Malagasy who still lives in Vazimbia is expected to increase, since more land and resources will be divided among less people. The Niagarans will give preferential treatment to Malagasys who are educated or who can speak English, but anyone who isnt a criminal will be allowed to start a new life in Cuba. We here at the Freiepresse were not lying when we told you that this is truly the biggest Diplomatic agreement in Vazimbian history.

President Jin speaks on tsunami aftermath; optimistic for the future

President Jin took to the podium at the Presidential Estate today to address the nation in the wake of the Valentine's Revenge Tsunami, amidst valiant reconstruction and humanitarian efforts undertaken by both Lasir and multiple nations abroad,

It has been almost a month since the shores of Lasir, and much of Southeast Asia, were battered by tsunamis of unprecendented proportions. In that time, we have come together as a nation, erasing the boundaries between trivial things such as political affliation or race, to stand against the despair caused by this tragic disaster. Early estimates were grim as we waited in shock and silence as the body counter ticked up and up and up. But with the help of the international community, and many, many brave Lasiri men and women we rescued and tended to survivors, turning them from the victim to the victorious as we spat in the face of death that wished to clutch us all.

Image
Disaster relief workers at Khao Lak, the most affected area in Lasir

He paused to take a large drink of his Yum! Brands™️ water, before returning to speak,

And then one day, the counter stopped. We waited tentatively, knowing that any minute one more loved one, one more parent or child, sibling or dear friend could show up amongst the list of those who lost their lives. But it didn't, and in fact the counter started ticking down. Missing people were found, and the long journey began to rebuild. As of today, damage estimates have remained steadily at $1.028Bn, almost one fifth the value that many economists and international observers estimated Lasir would suffer from. The body count stopped shortly after reaching 4,000, and while we mourn the losses of those who lost those dear to them, we breathe easy knowing that the day-one estimates of twenty to fourty thousand dead are nothing more than a thing of fiction.

While we will continue to grieve for a long time to come, we must fight against the despair that mother nature would so have us dwell upon. We must get up and fight, to rebuild and begin our lives anew, to spit in the face of all those who would wish for our downfall. It is up to us to become stronger as a result of our hardships. Lasir has certainly fallen before, but it has also risen out of the ashes like a phoenix alight, shining proud and dignified to show all those with malicious intent that we will not go down without a fight, and when we do, we will inevitably rise again.

The crowd cheered, before a raised hand from Jin signalled more was to be said,

Already, efforts are underway to rebuild and reinforce the towns and communities affected by the tsunami. The Lasir Army Engineer Corps has mobilized to help provide logistics and repair infrastructure as construction companies and civilians work together to piece back together their old homes. Multiple nations like Tensai, Yahel, Kayanesia, and Landersvich have pledged funds and personnel to aid us in our recovery. Road is beginning to be laid down again, while houses and ports are reconstructed and reinforced with earthquake and tsunami resistant architecture. The dawn of a new, modern western Lasir is, I dare say, already here and ready to stay. While the recovery process will be slow and, sometimes, tedious, we will no doubt leave this experience stronger than ever before, rising as a phoenix leaves the ashes.

The audience errupted in a wave of cheers and applause, chanting "Jin! Jin! Jin!" Some cried, some laughed, some drank from their Yum! Brands™️ water, but all left full of hope for Lasir and the future.

Pan-African Socialist Front Public Announcement

April 12, 2007

On the Creation of the Provisional Government
After weeks of riots, protests, crackdowns, and eventually revolt, the Pan-African Socialist Front has officially formed from a coalition of multiple Trade Unions, Parties, and organizations. Each of these popular organizations has sent up representatives to partake in the creation of a provisional government to see us through the liberation of the rest of the Congo. The Provisional Government will be in charge of the organization of the Military, Economy, Bureaucracy, and will establish and draft the mass-process for building a post-liberation State. Stay strong comrades! We, the PASF are the only ones who can save not just the Congo, but all of Africa, from the clutches of the imperialist and capitalist!

Ethnic Rights and Self Government
The Imperialists and capitalists have, for a long time, wrongly see the great continent of Africa as being devoid of cultural differences, a continent of "savages" to be enslaved and exploited. The Provisional Government has detailed out provisions that not only increase the rights of tribes to self-government and cultural preservation but have established long swathes of political and social rights to protect all people's within the PASF, and lay the foundation for a future socialist system for all of Africa.

Wartime Economy and the Nationalization of Foreign Industries
Thanks to our time as slaves to the capitalists, they have fed us the tools through which we will become their undoing. The Provisional Government has put out provisions on the full nationalization and socialization of key sectors of the economy, including but not limited to; Steel, Rare Earth Metals, Agriculture, Forestry, Trade, infrastructure, All Foreign Business capital, Housing, and Medicine. Nationalization will see about the social ownership and democratic management of the workplace by the worker, as well as form a foundation for National and local economic planning. Similarly, to help manage unemployment during the war, the provisional government has announced the first Labor Army, the National Construction Brigades. These will form the bulwark for both wartime and peacetime construction and expansions. Join the National Construction Brigades Today, and help build a brighter future for all people of Africa!

Resource Distribution during Time of War
With the nationalization of Housing, Agriculture, and Medicine, the provisional government has created policies to see an adequate distribution of these resources during the liberation. Local restaurants and food kitchens, as well as food distribution centers, will be set up and brought into the national distribution plan(in relation to privately owned restaurants) in every accessible town, village, and city. Citizens will be given food cards that will allow them to both eat out at the public food kitchens and restaurant, as well as access provisions from the food distribution centers. As for housing, the NCB has been tasked with a large scale expansion of housing throughout the country in order to ensure that homelessness is eradicated and all have an adequate standard of living. Medicine will be funded as best as possible with the establishment of rural clinics and hospitals throughout the country ensuring that no one will needlessly die because the nearest hospital is tens of kilometers away.

Conflict Breaks out in Prilozhia

Just hours after Balatonian leader Lajos Szarka denounced the government of Prilozhia, a full-scale assault was ordered on the border region. The attack was successful and Balatonian forces quickly moved into the border regions in Croatia and Bosnia.

Bisingen troops in Balaton total 112,000, the entirety of the first army corps, including 4 combined arms divisions and 2 armored divisions. They consist of the:
    1. Infaterie-Division (combined arms) ~18,000 troops
    2. Infanterie-Division (combined arms) ~18,000 troops
    3. Infanterie-Division (combined arms) ~18,000 troops
    4. Infanterie-Division (combined arms) ~18,000 troops
    1. Panzerdivision (armored) ~ 20,000 troops
    2. Panzerdivision (armored) ~ 20,000 troops
The Royal Army of Bisingen has announced it has been granted full authority to support Balatonian troops in the conflict wherever necessary to prevent the maximum amount of deaths and/or collateral damage. Bisingen has also urged Balaton to use caution and has warned that it will interevene to reign in Balatonian leadership if Balatonian activity becomes overzealous. For the time being, however, Bisingen forces in Balaton have moved to the frontlines to support Balatonian forces in the conflict. Additionally, two airwings or around 60 planes are being sent to Balaton by the Bisingen Air Force.

Still hoping to maintain peace, however, Bisingen has ordered Balaton to halt further advances and has instituted a temporary ceasefire with Prilozhia. If the Prilozhian government makes a statement requesting to hold a meeting within 96 hours (4 days), Bisingen and Balaton offer to hold a private conference with Prilozhia to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. If no action is taken or the offer is turned down, the two nations' forces will resume hostilities, assuming Prilozhia has no interests in pursuing peace and is taking advantage of the ceasefire to gain a strategic advantage.

Handel, Lutz & Roechmeyer AG Launches LDM 45 Billion HLR Lightstone Impact Investment Platform, to Invest in New Taipei, Tianjin and Fuzhou SARs, Emerging Markets

Landersvich Receives Taipei, Tianjin & Fuzhou SAR Mandate · International Cartographic Association Files Lawsuit Against Landersvich · Santa Rosa Ministry of Labour on Strike · French DGSE Suffers Crippling Cyber Attack · Imperial Minister of the Treasury Voices Concern over Elitoskovian Unrest

The Board of Management of Handel, Lutz & Roechmeyer AG issued a press release earlier today, revealing to the Wiener Zeitung and Shenzhen Insider that the Landersvichian firm has launched HLR Lightstone AG, in impact investment platform that has managed to receive mandates collectively worth LDM 45 billion, with contributions being made by private accredited and institutional investors, university endowment funds, several insiders such as HLR AG Group Executive Chairman Otto Handel and HLR AG CIO & Head of Hedge Fund Investment Management Walter Goldstein, and the Imperial Ministry for Economic and Digital Affairs of the Empire of Landersvich. According to Handel, Lutz & Roechmeyer AG Group CEO Thomas Leitner, HLR Lightstone AG will oversee a network of venture capital firms, private equity firms, real estate investment groups, hedge funds and other investment vehicles with the intent of generating a measurable, beneficial social, environmental and economic impact - alongside investment alpha- in the Taipei SAR, Tianjin SAR and Fuzhou SAR of the Cantonese Confederacy, as well as other emerging markets. Mr. Goldstein then went on to explain that each Cantonese SAR will receive a LDM 15 billion allocation.

This announcement comes after the Confederate Central Bank of Canton seized all assets that were a part of the Hong Kong Dollar minting and commercial and investment banking operation of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd. following the handover of the Hong Kong peninsula. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd. CEO Jean Ping then met with Cantonese Director of Finance Mohammad Mohammad to discuss compensation and struck a deal whereby the Empire of Landersvich would receive a 50-year lease for the Special Administrative Regions of Taipei, Tianjin and Fuzhou, which also stipulates the right for Landersvich to maintain a military presence in the three municipalities. This is not the first time such an arrangement has been made; Landersvich was granted the right to freely develop and administer Hoi Haau, the largest city on Hoinaam Island. Handel, Lutz & Roechmeyer AG, being a firm partially owned by the Landersvich Family Foundation Stiftung, has been granted carte blanche with respect to the economic development of the Taipei, Tianjin and Fuzhou SARs, thus continuing the decade-old tradition of minimal government involvement in the economy and financial system.

Image

Handel, Lutz & Roechmeyer AG CIO & Head of Hedge Fund Investment Management Walter Goldstein, who has also been assigned to the position of CEO of HLR Lightstone AG, informed the Wiener Zeitung and Shenzhen Insider that the network of investment vehicles overseen by the impact investment platform will focus on making active allocations across the private sector of the Taipei, Tianjin and Fuzhou SARs, particularly in electronics, communications and information technology products, petroleum refining, chemicals, textiles, iron and steel, machinery, cement, food processing, vehicles, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, financial services, shipping and other sectors. "HLR Lightstone will operate as a sovereign wealth fund capable of more sophisticated investment strategies," Mr. Goldstein said, "that is; it will seek to generate excess returns, but its actual mission is to tap into the potential of key growth sectors of the Special Administrative Regions in a way that is efficient and profitable. The aim is to avoid the boom and bust cycles brought about by government initiatives that would not have been able to survive on a commercial basis."

Handel, Lutz & Roechmeyer AG Group CEO Thomas Leitner informed the Wiener Zeitung and Shenzhen Insider that HLR AG will be looking to expand the presence of HLR Lightstone AG in the foreseeable future. "We're ready to take it global," Mr. Leitner said, "all we need to do is to raise capital. We will be reaching out to other large institutional investors, and we are considering a direct listing or initial public offering of a special class of shares, which may or may not involve the restructuring of HLR Lightstone into a limited partnership. A special-purpose acquisition vehicle IPO is also being contemplated." Mr. Leitner then went on to reveal that the next target for HLR Lightstone will either be Lasir, which has been suffering from a recession following a devastating tsunami, or Vazimbia, which has faced serious unemployment and racial inequality for decades. The LDM 45 billion avant-garde sovereign wealth fund and its close affiliation with key Asian trading hubs that adhere to the Landersvichian model, i.e. a flat personal income tax and corporate income tax of 4.5%, no goods and services or capital gains levies and minimal government spending, is likely a part of a broader hedging strategy devised in fear of the disruption of HLR's economic and financial hegemony in Africa.

Vargas proclaims the Continental Legionary Front
Leo Vargas, the Deputy Director of Internal Security, has announced the creation of the Continental Legionary Front. Abbreviated as CLF, the Continental Legionary Front is intended to, according to Vargas, be the official leader of the Legionary movement in Niagara and Cuba.

The CLF has promised all Legionary entities across the nation to join the CLF. As an incentive, Vargas has promised monetary funding to all clubs and Legionary gatherings that sign up with the CLF.

According to Vargas, the Legionary movement needs a strong head to ensure the movement stays alive.
"There is no point in our congregations and our meetings if we have no central organisation to drive the progress and the strength of the great Legionary Eagle."

While many in the Legionary movement have been pushing for the creation of an official organisation, many are surpised that it has come from Leo Vargas, who is often referred to as Roman Dean's right hand man. A number of influential Legionists, such as Terry Kek, CEO of Kek Foods, have lamented that Dean himself is not officially leading the movement, but have pledged support to the CLF irregardless.

Another enigma is the man himself, Leo Vargas. Vargas, the 37-year-old Second-in-command of Internal Services, and Dean's righthand man, has reportedly been a Legionist from the very start. Vargas served in the Union Navy before his role in Internal Security.

Vice-President Roman Dean, the man who many would consider the symbolic leader of the Legionary movement, has endorsed the CLF wholehartedly:
I could not have thought of a better man to lead the Legionary movement than Leo Vargas. I implore all Legionists across the nati to pledge support to the CLF, which will empower the Legionary movement to even greater height!

The Continental Liberation Front will headquartered in Philadelphia, Hudson Region.

Elitoskovian civil war escalates into global conflict • 200,000 Lasiri identities compromised in Bangkok tax office hack, perpetrator arrested • Landersvichian Imperial Bank buys 100 tonnes of Lasiri gold reserves

Bangkok reacquired from Yahel in $30Bn acquisition; Lasiri Armed Forces start multi-billion dollar expansion as a result of recent world tension

Bangkok - millions across Lasir cheered today at the reacquisition of Lasir's former largest city and economic center: Bangkok. A deal struck with the Yaheli government on April 15, 2007 stated that per a $30Bn cost, the colony of Bangkok would be returned to Lasir on May 11, 2007. Celebrations were held in the city today, with fighter jets streaming overhead as millions danced and revelled in the streets among streamers of all colors and bustling street vendors. Some critics have blasted the government for spending such an exorbitant sum on what they call "nothing more than a small city" but recent polls have shown that an overwhelming 89% of Lasiri's supported the reacquisition of Bangkok.
Image

As Lasir's largest population center and trade center, the National Assembly decided today that the official Lasiri capital will be moved to Bangkok as it was before the subjugation of the Lasiri Confederacy in 1992. Preexisting capital buildings and presidential residences will make the move painless as possible, and bureacrats expect that the new facilities can be up and running within a month. Premier of the Assembly Lian Hua has teased about a possible bill in the works that would set aside Bangkok as a special economic zone in order to maintain its corporate preferability. When asked about her thoughts on the rumors of the bill Premier Hua said,

I can't tell you if something's in the works or not, but I can guarantee that such a bill would further release government intervention on the city [Bangkok] more than nationwide liberalizations have already achieved.

Meanwhile, the Lasiri Armed Forces (LArF) have been hard at work purchasing new multi-billion dollar orders for ships, guns, tanks, and planes. The majority, if not all of the purchases, seem to have been from prominent Pavlovski arms manufacturer Amur. From information so far made public it seems that the Ground Forces are expecting 500 new mechanized fighting vehicles and 200,000 new guns, the navy four new surface warfare combatants, and the air force over a hundred new fighter jets and interceptors. In polls conducted by the Sentinel 43% of Lasiri's said they were unsure/worried about the expansion of the army, but the Lasiri General Staff has made clear the recent global tensions regarding the Congo and Elitoskovia as ample reasoning for the expansion of Lasir's own defenses.

A photograph of the celebrations in Bangkok today.

All-Flemish Council to implement “Rehumanization” Program

      May 18th, 2007
Far-Right Terrorist Attack at Parisian Water Treatment Plant • North Pontivyen Governor accuses Garrison of “Occupation” • DGSE Devastated by Cyberattack • Sarwanusan President Hartury: ”Everyone needs to chill.”

On May 3rd, following numerous reports of the fascist government in Elitoskovia firing on protestors, President Macron and TRETO jointly announced that the government of Elitoskovia had until May 7th to step down. On May 7th, following silence from the Elitoskovian government, French and TRETO forces crossed the border to topple the fascist government.

However, the intervention in Elitoskovia has ground to a halt as TRETO forces continue to fail to perform to expectations, resulting in widespread criticism. French forces have, however, secured the majority of Flanders, protecting the Flemish people against the threat of reprisal killings by fascist paramilitaries and the Elitoskovian government. The All-Flemish Council, made up of representatives of communities of Flanders chosen by the French garrison, has been formed to take up the mantle of civil administration in Flanders. The move has been met with applause from Belgium and the French Flemish community, a prominent spokesman of which described the move as "a step forward into reunification". Speaker Denis Dierickx, who was chosen by the AFC to lead the government, called upon all the people of Flanders to come together, regardless of ethnicity, and rebuild a new, modern, and democratic system in Flanders.
      Image
Speaker Denis Dierickx at the latest AFC meeting.

To this end, the AFC has enacted several policies to undo decades worth of fascist indoctrination and to, as the acts say, rehumanize Flanders. Chief among these is the promulgation of a democratic transitional constitution and the rights of the people. The AFC has introduced the Flemish Voter's Oath to allow citizens in Flanders to participate in voting as a precaution against fascist interference. The Oath is transcribed below.

I, ________, as a resident and voter of Flanders, hereby do declare the following by my own conscience.
-I will affirm and uphold the basic rights of man.
-I will affirm and uphold the democratic process.
-I will defend both the basic rights of man and the democratic process against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
-I acknowledge the crimes of fascism and acknowledge that the Elitoskovian government is fascist.
-I denounce the crimes against humanity of the Elitoskovian government, past and present.
-I acknowledge the All-Flemish Council as the legitimate regional government of Flanders.
-I will renounce all ties and affiliations to fascism and the Elitoskovian government.
-I will be prepared to take up arms, perform noncombatant service, or perform work of regional importance on behalf of the All-Flemish Council.

The AFC has, in addition, implemented several laws outlawing fascist organizations, banning fascist propaganda and media, nationalizing pro-fascist businesses, and reorganizing public institutions away from fascism. The French Federal government has also implemented laws of their own to provide massive financial, food, and material assistance to the people of Flanders to assist in reconstruction, which has assisted the AFC in establishing social programs to win public approval. More controversially, the AFC has renamed Flemish cities to their Flemish names and promoted Flemish literature, art, and media, declaring that "Flemish Culture must no longer be oppressed by Elitoskovia". On the other hand, the vast majority of Elitoskovian literature, art, and media has been banned due to their near universal fascist tendencies.

The All-Flemish Council has clarified that it is not a secessionist organization, and will instead enact by the will of the people, whatever it will be. Speaker Dierickx stated that above all he hoped to see a democratic Elitoskovia, and that regardless of the status of Flanders the international community must work towards the end of fascism in Europe and worldwide. The French garrison commander stated that France would likely continue to push north if the Elitoskovian government continued to refuse democratization. President Macron went on record to state that, for France, negotiations hinged on the willingness of the Elitoskovian government to resign, democratize, and reform, and that French forces are willing and able to push north to topple the regime should it fail to do so.
