probably yes but with far more restrictions, including fighters escorting said planes.

Makes sense.

Langenia dear how do you know who killed you? As far as you should be concerned realistically, your sub could've just ran into an underwater volcano and underwent rapid unscheduled self-disassembly.

Yeah, but this is fine.

The point is... you don't have instantaneous communication with all your possessions. This is called godmodding in its original definition. Instantaneous communication with a dived submarine is especially ridiculous since such tech is either MagicT or Future Tech.

Yeah, but this is fine.

Here it is in clear speak:
1. Somebody shot you up and you don't know who because this is how it works underwater.
2. Your sub asplodes.
3. Your central govt immediately knows A: Which sub asploded and B: Who shot you up and C: You immediate declare war on the attacker. This is the godmod part.

If we're talking about my sub engaging Langenia's, then my government did state quite clearly IC that they would be sinking Langenian subs on sight until Langenia stops with the unrestricted sub warfare. So I was very much expecting a reaction to that statement from his government.

As for knowing who sank a submarine, if there are no other witnesses around, then yes, it could be quite difficult. Actually, it might take awhile to even realize that a submarine was sunk, given that they probably aren't coming up to the surface on a regular basis to chat with their base, especially in a combat zone. You could possibly solve both these issues with a communications buoy or something designed to be released in case a sub in sunk or in distress.

But at the moment, it doesn't look like he's actually reacted to my torpedo attack anyway, so we don't really know whether any subs were sunk at all yet. Nevermind. Apparently my phone is being stupid again.

No need, at least on my part. I can work with everything in your post no problem. In fact, I'd even say that everything is going according to plan.

Wait, but this is from the sub's point of view, not the central government's. As far as I'm concerned the Langenien government in Aragon hasn't been informed of the sunken Akula sub.

Huh? Everyone in that sub is probably dead! How could you even think of getting info from interviews with the crushed corpses?

Imagine it like a crash in Kerbal Space Program (I'm sure most have heard of that). Yes, the astronaut will be able to see it first-hand, but he/she is not going to survive to tell the tale.

I know. I'm just saying what happened to the sub. I never interviewed crushed corpses and the central government never knew the sub's fate. What do you expect me to say? The sub just disappeared? I feel that's to vague.

...Yes. Like maybe phrase it like this, "Recently, the lead submarine of a submarine squadron has been considered destroyed as no signs of it can be found. The two other submarines do remark that the lead sub maneuvered to block the 2 other submarines from 4 torpedoes. All crew members on this lead submarine are considered KIA."

Seriously, people. His government is responding to this. Specifically this bit:
Mitheldalond wrote:"BREAKING NEWS! Navy officials announced during a press conference today that the government had authorized air strikes against targets in Joyea in retaliation for the killing of five Mitheldalondian citizens at the hands of Joyean Storm Commandos.

"Government officials also addressed Langenian threats of unrestricted submarine warfare, saying that - as such tactics are almost guaranteed to result in the sinking of many neutral or civilian vessels - the Mitheldalondian Navy has been issued 'sink-on-sight' orders regarding all Langenian submarines. This policy will remain in effect until Langenia discontinues the use of unrestricted submarine warfare.

"The embassies of several Osean allies have also been forcibly ejected from Langenia, and while Mitheldalond is not formally allied with the Osean States, there are concerns that we will be faced with similar treatment. When asked about this, officials affirmed that the Mitheldalondian Embassy to Langenia is - as are all embassies - the sovereign territory of Mitheldalond, but declined to comment on whether or not the government would comply with such demands."

His submarines are responding to the angry torpedoes trying to smash them in the face. His government hasn't said anything about any submarines being lost.

There is nothing wrong with his post.

Fair point. However, while I cannot speak for the others here, I myself am a smoothbrain who cannot understand the concept of context, nor am I capable of doing complex tasks such as 'reading carefully'.

In other words; shit, sorry about that.
