Kamooko Pact Headquarters, Placeoderms

Mark Janssen walked with a certain swagger up the steps of the KP headquarters. He didn’t quite fit in, nor did he stick out. In his right hand was a briefcase with a very specific set of documents. He had pickpocketed the ID of a low level aide. So, he just walked past security by flashing the badge. He put his suitcase on a tray for the x-ray machine and walked through the metal detector, no catch there.

While the sheer magnitude of this building astonished him, he knew exactly where to go. He was on a dead set mission to the office of General Esox Pike. He walked into an elevator with a Durranese man and a Placeodermsian woman. He just looked at them both, smiled and nodded. He was obviously the odd one out with his very obviously Drejveškan features. Needless to say, he didn’t belong on that elevator.

The corridors were arrayed with standard Placeodermsian efficiency, and Markus had no trouble finding where he needed to go. He stood tall and tried his best to look important as he walked through the security clearance point, and the guard didn’t look twice. As he got closer to his destination, there was another guard who looked at him as he walked by. “Hey, sir! Can I see your ID?” Mark continued walking, just a couple more steps. “Sir! I am going to need you to stop!”

He shoved open the small office’s door, set down his briefcase, and sat down. “Hello, General.”

General Pike, the imposingly heavyset Placeodermsian, seemed far less surprised than he may ought to be. He simply glanced up over a pair of reading glasses, seemingly miffed at having been distracted from his tablet. “I don’t remember having an appointment. Who are you?”

Suddenly, a crash was heard from behind as the Placeodermsian guard slammed into the doorframe, fumbling for his sidearm. “Sir, you can’t go in- oh, uh, hello General.”

Pike sighed, removing his glasses to size up the situation. “Private Grayling, why is this man in my office?”

“He, well, sir, I didn’t have a chance to . . .” The poor soldier was in such a state.

The General just waved his hand. “Well, that clears up nothing. Go gather some more security. I suspect Mr. . . .”

“Janssen, Markus Janssen,” the agent smirked.

“I’m sure Mr. Janssen is right where he wants to be.” The trooper nodded too enthusiastically, making a hasty exit as his superior turned back to their intruder.

“Now, I assume there is a good reason for you to be here. Out with it.”

Markus opened his briefcase, “Much like you, I am a man of culture. A man who understands discipline.”

At that, the man before him hardened. Pike flicked a single speck of fur off his otherwise immaculate cuff. “I said out with it.” His voice had lost its toying edge.

“I’m getting to it, General. You know, I have killed more people in a single day than you probably have in the last twenty years,” he pulled the very specific set of documents out of his briefcase and put them on the General’s desk.

The general set his spectacles on the bridge of his nose as he began to read the translated copy. In essence, the document contained the circumstances of the attack on the embassy and evidence of the media being paid off, and videos of the firefight are being taken down. The more he skimmed, the more his face darkened. Markus grinned at the knowledge of what Pike must be thinking. As the man in charge of Kamooko’s forces on the border with Vilhala, he knew firsthand what these sorts of PMCs were capable of.

“Everyone is playing dirty in this war, General. And especially you should know how dirty PMC’s are willing to get,” Mark shrugged as if to say ‘it’s up to you,’ closed his briefcase, and opened the door to a whole plethora of security personnel, weapons drawn, “You finally got me. Good job guys,” he put his hands up and turned around.

An insurmountable amount of eyes and ISR assets had gathered in around and over the wounded city. Drones, planes, the occasional satellite all sucking up every form of information possible to piece the situation together and keep tabs on everyone and everything. This torrent of information all flowed like a river into a nondescript building in the Rhamosian district as teams of specialist, analyst, and techs all worked to dilute and disseminate it down to its bare most important levels.

A symphony of people calling out information and providing updates filled the blue tinted room as the situation escalated on the ground.

“Hostile contacts identified as EKSG have engaged friendlies. Estimated platoon sized element.”

“Multiple MSRs confirmed closed, possibility of egress is shrinking fast.”

“Confirmed assault teams have secured HVT, Dagger moving to exfil.”

“RRAF fighters have entered Kassau airspace reporting rotary contacts bearing north, signature and IFF tags match Trekish Os-24s and 28s.”

“SIGNIT reports contact of 3rd Directorate agents moving to the scene-“

The last line was cut off as Adelaide’s voice thundered over the rest. “Quiet on the floor, repeat that.”

“SIGNIT picked up an Agent Janssen contacted via cellphone approximately five mikes ago, he’s been ordered to report to embassy for what we assume to be an investigation.”

Adelaide didn’t have time to muse on this information as another voice frantically called out another update.

“Unknowns engaging EKSGs with rocket fire from the 8 story grey structure southside of the AO!”

“Ma’am fighters report rotary contacts veering off from the vicinity of the Trekish embassy vectored towards the AO. I assess with high probably they intend to provide CAS to the hostile contacts!”
“God dammit, god dammit, god dammit!” Adelaide was seething at the rate at which the situation was spiraling out of their control.

The intervention of the possible Trekish forces had taken the kinetic options of the table. Regardless the destruction or capture of the Serdi PMC would comprise the whole operation and worse yet bring heat down on the colony. Action would have to be taken and fast.

Her one good hands knuckles turned white as she balled it up into a fist searching the screens for any sort of misbegotten sign of what she should do.

“Ma’am rotary contacts have engaged the unknowns and are in pursuit of the blufor elements, COA?”

Fuck fuck this was it sink and swim time. “FUCK IT! Contact flight lead, buzz that damn chopper with a SOF; flairs, sonic boom, give em the whole 9 see if they can’t scare them off the hunt!” She snapped her head around to the analyst who had reported on the Agent earlier.

“Ping his phone and get me a location on that fuck, Dragon 3 prioritize that asshole if he so much as takes sneeze I want to know about it. Run him through JCAD and anyone he talks too I want to know everything about him in one hour.”

The room erupted again in a mixture of conversations and updates as people scrambled to carry out her orders. The raid teams were almost out of kill box and if the helicopter pulled off they would be in the clear. Adelaide finally took a moment to breath as she focused on how they were going to move forward with this event lest she wake up tomorrow with the whole country out for Rhamosian blood.

A firm hand placed itself on her shoulder causing her to turn around in time to see an approving glance from Duke Red who had returned from getting himself another cup of coffee.

“My my, my dearest Adelaide it appears you’ve done quite well for yourself.”

He sipped his expensive smelling nectar of life with a wry smile.

“I will be resuming command of the operation now. Please see to the pleasantries, I’m sure our most gracious host have grown tired of all these reprehensible acts being carried out on their soil.”

Adelaide nodded silently as she stepped off to the side of room while pulling out her encrypted burner phone. Its buttons clicked furiously as slush funds from various accounts were directed into the pockets of Phoenexian media and political pockets. Interspaced between this was various messages directed towards known staunch pro monarchist NCOs and Officers of the Phoenexian military.

2nd Lt. Svetozar Bukovski (Sova 806)
881st Air-Assault Battalion
Kassau, Phoenxia

"Bring me in closer, Bukovski," shouted Tarasov over the comms, as he let another burst at the escaping caravan of mercs. 30 mm rounds impacted near and around the caravan, but to the surprise of Tarasov none of them were truly hitting their intended target. I angled my Os-24 nose down to get closer to the caravan, but I was persuaded from continuing the descent due a loud crack that sent the Os-24 veering off course. I gripped the controls tightly, struggling to keep my Os-24 from slamming into the power lines and nearby housing. Thankfully, my hours of training finally paid off and I managed to pull my Os-24 safely away from the power lines and the nearby housing. The close encounter made me pull away from the pursuit of merc caravan.

"Get me back in there," shouted Tarasov, his head swiveling back and forth trying to yell at me face to face.

"Get your head out of your ass, Tarasov," I replied calmly, as I directed my Os-24 back to the embassy, "That rogue bogey almost sent us into power lines. We don't have the speed to nor the current weaponry to deal with this rogue element. It's best to return to Sova 802 then return to the embassy,"

"I almost had them..." Tarasov said in a low, frustrated tone as he leaned further back into his seat.

"Atonement, this is Sova 806, we were engaged by unknown hostile aircraft. It nearly sent us into the power lines. We do not have the necessary weaponry to combat this rogue element, how copy?" I stated, as I continued to fly the Os-24 back to the embassy.

"... Sova 806, we read you loud and clear. Return to the Tyrian embassy, link up with Sova 802, then return to the Trekkish embassy and extract elements left there, how copy?...

"Copy, Atonement, we will comply immediately, over and out," I replied, as I increased the throttle.

2nd Lt. Svetozar Bukovski (Sova 806)
881st Air-Assault Battalion
Kassau, Phoenxia

The insertion of the 59th Naval Infantry Battalion via the embassy roof had been a success, but more importantly we had secured the Trekkish ambassador and his child. Luckily, we didn't take any fire from the PMCs within Kassau. It seems that most of the fighting was taking place over the Tyrian embassy. When I flew in with the sortie, my co-pilot and I could see multiple faint explosions coming from where the black smoke had been rising from before. The sound of small arms fire, albeit muffled due to the cock pit, could be heard constantly cracking in the air. For a GDU member, it seemed like the Phoenxian government had no control over its own nation whatsoever. Though my own prejudices could be affecting my state of mind on the nation of Phoenxia, but this event certainly wasn't a saving grace. As I flew my hulking beast in formation with the other Os-24s, the radio crackled to life,

"... Sova 806, you are to proceed with Sova 802 and assist Phoenxian forces at the Tyrian embassy. How copy, Sova 806..."

"Atonement, this is Sova 806. I read you loud and clear. Sova 806 will proceed to the Tyrian embassy with Sova 802, over and out," I replied, as steered my Os-24 back towards Kassau, "I hope your trigger fingers itching, Tarasov. Seems like we're going to see some action today,"

"Trigger finger is ready, Bukovski. Get me a good angle and swiss cheese these assholes," replied Tarasov, as he flipped the weapons safety switch, "Kill them all; let God sort them out,"

As we neared the Tyrian embassy, explosions and tracer fire became more intense and sporadic. The situation for the Phoenxian defenders was looking quite grim as they seemed surrounded. That being said, it seemed like a rogue PMC element was already trying to extract from the area the despite having closed the noose around the Phoenxian necks. As I brought the OS-24 in closer and lower, I could see enemy fire coming from buildings parallel to the Tyrian embassy and pepper the defenders. I leveled the Os-24 out and allowed Tarasov to let out a long burst of 30mm auto-cannon into the building parallel of the embassy. 30mm rounds slammed into the building, kicking up dust and debris. After the long burst, I maneuvered my Os-24 out of the way to allow Savo 802 to take me place.

"Savo 802, I will be pursuing the rogue PMC element that that left prior, How copy?" I asked, as I brought the Os-24 higher into the sky to prep for an attack run.

"Copy that, Savo 806," replied the pilot of Savo 806," Will to lend aid to Phoenxian defenders, over,"

"Good luck, Savo 802," I replied, as I tilted the joystick down and began to pursue after the fleeing PMC element. Despite their hasty retreat the PMCs speed was all for nought for the Os-24 slowly descended behind its prey. Tarasov unleashed a burst at the speeding mixsmatched convoy. I couldn't see all of the action due to piloting the beast, but I did catch snippets of Tarasov peppering the ground near around the vehicles.

Kassau, En Route to Rally Point

The situation seemed to be finally looking good for the Ares Contractors. Despite various SNAFUs and the casualties taken during the fight with EKSG, the PMCs had secured their target and their way home was clear. However, Murphy's Law had once again reared its ugly head to provide one last surprise for the night. Like an especially annoying Hydra, the combined Strike Force/SMU group had solved one problem only for two more to take it's place. In this case, two Trekkish gunships that were hot on their tail.

Yeti gritted his team as one of the helicopters let loose a barrage of 30mm autocannon fire at the convoy. The shells never quite hitting any of the vehicles but they still peppered them with shrapnel and debris. While the level IV up-armor packages of the vehicles kept the shrapnel from slicing the occupants into ribbons, there were still close calls and debris still played havoc with windows. It was only a matter of time before the stream of gunfire found their target and turned the occupants into red mist.

"Weapon squad, get your guns out and start hitting those helos," Yeti ordered, "Make them think twice about their gun runs."

It was a desperate measure and unlikely to work. Either the SPMG gunners would have to be dropped in order to lay down accurate fire or try to awkwardly brace their weapons against some part of the vehicle as they drove, turning accuracy to shit. To get better effects on the target, he'd have to employ the LAWs or use the last of their kamikaze drones to try to take down the pursuing gunship. They were also going to lose a lot more guys trying to do so. Fortunately, the Strike Force Platoon Leader didn't need to do so.

The night's last miracle came in the form of a Rhamosian fighter jet, which zoomed past with a supersonic crack. Yeti watched as the two gunships were buffeted by the fly-by, nearly thrown into nearby power lines. As the helicopters recovered from the fly-by, Yeti let out a sigh of relief as they turned away and moved toward the embassy. He also noticed that the other contractors in his vehicle visibly relaxed.

"Fuck man. Rhamosian Nobility trust funds," said Rebound, the SMU troop leader.

"Yeah, never leave home without one," Yeti chuckled.

After a wild night of surprise artillery strikes, firefights, and car chases, the Ares GDS convoy made the drive home without further incident. From there, it was a matter of caring for their wounded and dead, topping off on ammo and other essentials, and handing off the Tyrian Ambassador to the client. The night had been one long shit show, but now was time to look toward the future and deal with the fallout.

Updated Thread Notes.

The thread is now moving locations, after a moving of the landmass it was originally on. In an effort to keep all players that put in work on this thread, we'll be changing some things up.

Kassau, Phoenxia Will now be Kacreustan, Ethrana

King Snatkin Foma now replaces the King Artur II (Since it was my post that seen him die, I'll edit it.

Greta will be replace by Okilj Snatkin, She is the only Child, and Heir.

Tryia as the bad guy has been replaced by The Confederation of Novajinnsk (Tryia can still be in the events of GBW, just as another role, not the bad guy.)

The Tryian Embassy Siege, is now the Siege on the Novajinnsk Embassy, as they are to blame for the death of King Foma, and their role in playing puppet master in the nations Senate.

Treat the Phoenxian posts as you wish, but for the most part, noncanon to most of these events. A clear Timeline for this thread will follow. But it will stay closed till then new year.

No others posts from anyone outside NS Mod, will follow. So please do not post. fell free to message me if need be.
