Reason: The Christian Socialist Union (CSU) was founded to advocate for the Social Gospel in the context of orthodox Protestant beliefs. Besides criticizing the Aquarian state church for its deviations from mainstream Christianity, the CSU is also a fierce advocate of worker’s rights. They also support women’s equality, and the temperance movement. Despite having some beliefs that might be considered theologically conservative, they agree with the state church in accepting same-sex marriage. The CSU is led by the twin brother and sister Otto and Elizabeth von Blumhardt who studied theology abroad in Germany. It was initially supported by educated elites, primary from humanities fields, who were disillusioned with certain aspects of Aquarian society and the state church in particular after being exposed to political and theological ideas from the outside world. However it also attracts citizens from working class backgrounds due to its advocacy for worker’s rights.

Background:
A citizen of Toad Isle. Moved to Rapture under Andrew Ryan. Slaved away in various kitchens, eventually becoming a trainee chef. Unnoticed and unappreciated, until the head chef went missing, and Caviar saved an important meal with an unusual stew. Weeks later, his restaurant was rebranded Long Pig Beach.

After John Mercer's reform, the palm fronds and flower necklaces were quietly taken down. Caviar kept slicing and dicing, for private parties and elite gatherings. Every year, on the Toad Isle Moon Festival, Caviar throws a grand banquet for high society. This year will be no different.

Ideology: Communist Nationalism (could be considered National Bolshevism)
Manpower: 1,000
Reason: As corporate power increased ever further and the poor were increasingly trodden on, a select few labor camp workers grew dissatisfied. Then outright furious with the system. More and more turned to the ideals of Stalinism, coming to a head when Jack Slick rose to prominence. Combining nationalism with Stalinist thought, Aquarian Communist Nationalism (NazCom, as it’s nicknamed) was born.
Is this faction backed by a foreign government? The government of Ignis backs them, though extremely indirectly.
