Welcome, fellow Rpers, to The Dance of Flags! This is an RP I've been brewing up for a while now, and with confirmation from my Co-Ops, have finally been able to put forth! This RP will follow a (I hope) unique system for many of you, maintaining a riveting story line for you all to contribute too, and is set at the start of the 1400s, in 1400. To begin, lets address what the nations on the map are.
Kinsoi (Demonym: Kinsite) is a former hermit kingdom formed in 675 by a united coalition of small city states inhabiting the island of Shin Chiong Hai (English: Island of Many Riches/Harildisle). It kept to itself for much of its existence, before the ascension of the King Guan Fai brought it front and center to the larger world. The Kingdom established itself as a proper trade juggernaut, growing extravagantly wealthy. During this time, it naturally strengthened its navy above all else, leaving its army behind to rely on but 10 veteran units to uphold its glory and moral for the newer and untested troops, though the Kinsite archers are known the world over. Kinsoi will be the setting for this RP.
The United Tribes of the Temujai (Demonym: Tem'uj) are a extremely powerful nomadic civilization. The area was once a teeming political landscape, small nations packed together in a twisting mass, with the southern tip as unclaimed plains, home to various warring tribes. Upon their unity as a single force under the Sha'al Fama Sog, they swept across the small nations that made up the peninsula, subjugating each in turn in a lightning campaign unseen before. They worship war and horses (literally), with renown horse archers, though under the surface, trouble brews. Given its united nature, the old tribes stir as factions, and if the conquest stops, if there is no more new bounty brought to show their effort is worth it, things may begin to crack...
The Puppet Realm of Papreum (Demonym: Papri) is a puppeted former kingdom, now under the sway of the Tumujai. They were once a powerful kingdom whos courts brought scholars from all over, until the Temujai rolled to their borders, and threatened the kingdoms with the torch and blade should they refuse to surrender. Desperate to protect their artifacts and writings, they chose the easier option, becoming a vassal with no representation, a glorified buffer zone for the tribes.
The Santiagan Order (Demonym: Santiagan) is a powerful Holy Order which holds sway to the east. Fanatical followers of Christianity, their order is built off its expansion and following. They are historically cold to Kinsoi, the Temujai, and the Amari, as they do not follow the Christian faith. The order is militarist in nature, launching holy crusades to "purify" territories and claim them back into the grace of God. 
The Amari Sultanate (Demonym: Amarite) is a political entity located above the Temujai influenced territories, and is the Temujai's longest historical rival. Perhaps the finest hand to hand fighters of the nations, they arrive like shadows from the vast Ferhal Desert which marks their border with Papreum to launch strikes, and to defend against other skirmish strikes from the Temujai. Decidedly neutral to the Kinsite nation, they regard them as little more then flies fit for crushing when they come around to it.
The Republic of Sonterland (Demonym: Stonter) is perhaps the most normal of the nations on the map, as a rather average place. While they boast the highest living standards among them nations, their army and navy are rather lackluster. Where they do excel is in technology. They sit at the forefront of the other nations in innovations, so while their army may be small, it is by no means weak.
The Commonwealth of Elama (Demonym: Elamite) is the northeastern-most nation, a powerful diplomatic nation. Holding the warmest relations with Kinsoi, the nation has no standing army; rather, it hires out its men as mercenaries to other groups for a hefty price.Now that we have gone over our nations, lets address What this RP is. You, my prospective applicant, shall be playing an officer in the Kinsite Army. BTW this RP has 10 open spots, so first come first serve! You will be leading a force ranging from 5 thousand to 10 thousand men (a division in the Kinsite army), with its own flag, provided by me! This unit will be one of the 10 veteran units of the Army. Using this force, you will be given various "events", which will raise or lower one of three stats throughout this RP, those being Prestige, Reputation, and Status.
Prestige is the ranking that is applied directly to your character (doesnt include your unit), which reflects the opinion of the Court and King on your character. The higher your Prestige, the better rewards your character is given, but the harder the missions you will be ordered to under take, and the more dangerous the results if you fail. The lower it is, the less influence you have, and the less rewards you get.
Reputation is the ranking that is applied to your character and unit, and reflects the populace's opinion of you. The higher it is, the more likely the people are to feed, lodge, and listen to orders and requests given by your men. The lower it is, the more the populace will dislike and fear you, meaning less lodging, food, and higher resistance to actions.
Status is the ranking that is applied to your character, unit, and territory, and reflects the outside world's opinion on you. The higher it is, the more likely it is that you can recruit or get help from outside nations to aid your cause. This only comes into effect in Act 2. The lower it is, the less other nations like you, and the higher the chance that they might invade your territory (what territory means will be shown in Act 2)
Note: Prestige will almost always lower Reputation, Reputation will lower Prestige most of the time, and Status will lower both. Only three events exist that will raise two or more of these stats at the same time. All stats are ranked on a scale of 1 to 100, except for Status, which starts at 0/100.
This will be a pretty long RP, and one I hope will stay alive and progress well. Now its Rule Time! Yay!
