How does it not make sense. I thought yours, was a Muslim nation currently thrown into instability as a result of the Sultan's assassination. A group like the Islamic State would have surely taken an advantage of such chaos and vacuum, if you ask me.

What I wrote is not going to happen all at once. It would be a gradual and steady affair, with overseas Islamic State agents first establishing contact with a local Islamist group with whom the Dawla had had previous contacts and discussions of a merger because of its similar outlook on how affairs should be managed within you countries, when compared to their own. Everything on from there would all progress in the same manner, gradually, with many IED, sniper and istishadi attacks in between it all.

As I said, Daesh agents would establish contact with a group that professes near-similar, ideas on how the affairs of state and society should be managed within the Sultanate. i.e a Salafi-style structure of governance and full implementation of the Shariah according to Wahhabi interpretation of the Quran and the Hadiths.
