Thousands of jump signatures would be recorded by any nation that had the technology to recognize the bending of space and time. But alas, nothing appeared to come through. They opened and then abruptly closed. Little did the AI aboard the Visoran vessels know of the attack that was about to ensue. Around 3,357 Intangible-Class stealth heavy fighter craft had jumped into the area and were preparing to eliminate any intelligent presence in the area. These vessels, even when uncloaked, would still be unidentifiable, as they were not known to exist, let alone be in service of the Mercatusian Military. These vessels were invisible to all forms of electromagnetic and particle-based detection, and packed quite a punch with their strange armament that worked through means unexplainable and incomprehensible to most other nation's scientists. Each was equipped with a yet unknown dark-matter based weapon that could channel large concentrations of dark matter from the surrounding space to an advanced "receiver" on the weapon, which would then project a burst of the exotic matter at a target, thereby dealing significant damage to both the hull, shield, and occasionally even pilot of a vessel. The material was delivered in concentrated bursts, much like conventional plasma weapons used by more primitive star states, and had detectable exotic particles interspersed within the dark matter so the pilots of the vessels could track their shots. This was their only weapon, and it was far from conventional, but it was extraordinarily dangerous, and combined with the cloaking ability of the vessels they were mounted on, made them almost undetectable. Also, the ship seems to possess nothing in the means of conventional propulsion, and seems to bend the fabric of space around it to propel the vessel through space at sublight speeds. As a result of their hyper-advanced nature, there were far fewer of these vessels in operation than more conventional craft, and they are extremely expensive to operate. This was the first field use of the ship, as it had just passed military trials back in the Sextans Supercluster, and this operation would prove that the Mercatusians would be able to stop Octavian expansion and become the sole superpower in the universe. Communications flew via quantum entanglement between the ships in the mostly undeciphered Mercatusian language, and soon all communications stopped completely, and a few of the Intangible-Class fighters discharged their weapons toward one of the 5 Visoran vessels.
